Would repeat everything said by previous reviewer - terrific site. It had rained quite heavily the day before, and we had thunderstorms the first night and although we were on grass there wasn't a sign of water logging - the drainage must be amazing. Brought our bikes for the first time ever (hubby not exactly keen on cycling!) and cycled into York. Well, how impressive is York's provision for cyclists - puts other towns to shame. Well done York! Will be back for sure.

Can't fault this site. Absolutely first clas. S owners and staff couldn't be more helpful. Toilet and shower block clean and modern. Good size pitches and plenty water points. Loads to do in the surrounding area. Nags head pub about a mile down the road, good food and good beer, very friendly. All in all 10 out of 10

Perfect. Secluded, clean, well marked pitches, water taps a plenty. Small area for children to play. The owners and staff can't do enough for you. I highly recommend this site if your planning a trip to York. It's also very easy to reach the coast. We experienced some of the worst winds we've had while camping but the shelter this site provides gives me confidence that all tents will survive the weather! Ours did!

We have just returned from a weekend away at this great site. We found the site to be fairly quiet and peaceful. The pitches were a good size and flat. There are plenty of water points and lights around the site. The owners were lovely and friendly and very helpful and approachable. The facilities are kept clean and tidy but perhaps could do with more toilets and showers for when the site is at its busiest. There is a small play area, a games room and a playing field that our children enjoyed.
The site is very conveniently situated for the park and ride into York with a Tescos near the park and ride.
We will definitely return in the future and look forward to seeing how this site develops in its first full season.

Arrived at this site on Tuesday afternoon and was given a choice of a few pitches. Due to some repair work we were given two pitches which gave us loads of room. Pitches were great and where we were it was so sheltered we never felt any of the wind all week. If it wasn't for the tress swaying about so much we would never have thought there was an ounce of wind.
The park was great, toilet block was really good and clean, the play park was adequate and the other services were in good order and easy to get to.
The wardens were really helpful and could not do enough to help us with anything, very impressive. The cost of the site surprised me as I could not believe how cheap it is.
We went along to the Nags Head in Askham Bryan for dinner one night and had a delicious meal, I cannot recommend the place highly enough.
Great site and very handy for York and the surrounding area. A huge thumbs up from use and if we are back in the area we will be there without a doubt.

I stayed here with my son for two nights for a trip to the National Railway Museum in York (just a 15min drive away).
The facilities are great with clean roomy showers and everything else we needed. My son (5) loved the playground and games room and we had a lovely quiet corner pitch surrounded by trees for a good night's sleep.
We will definitely be back again next year when we go to see Mallard once again

Our family spent 3 nights at this beautiful caravan park. The site itself is really pretty with flat, well maintained grass and facilities. The shower and toilet block are immaculate. The children loved the play park and met lots of new friends. The games room is a good addition along with the football field. Its nice to see that not every bit of green space has been taken up by caravans/tents. The is a pub with in walking distance called the nelson which serves really good food and is dog friendly. This site also has a superb dog walk. This is our new favourite site by miles and we cannot wait to return.

A FANTASTIC bank holiday weekend here! Our first time at this site, we have been to most sites in the area and this is the best by a mile. The owners were lovely and extremely helpful. Will hopefully be spending lots of weekends here this season, beautiful trees, facilities clean, kids loved the playing field and games room. Went in to York easily with the park and ride and then drove in. Fantastic pub up the rd for drinks and food, Nags Head.

Had a fantastic few days at this amazing site on the Tuesday - Friday after the Easter weekend. When we arrived we were met at reception by the lovely female owner (sorry, I'm terrible for names!). We checked in and were given a choice of available pitches with some advice on which would get sun/shade, etc.
We were using this as a base purely for visiting York city centre and it is only a few minutes from the excellent park and ride.
The site is very well maintained and has the highest quality of shower/toilet block with an inside area for washing up and laundry etc.
We didn't have to bother the owners with questions whilst we were there as everything for a comfortable stay was easily accessible.
The whole site looked lovely and peaceful and exactly what we were looking for.
The next time we visit York we will definitely book Nurseries Caravan Park again.
