We have just returned from a week at this site. This is our fourth year staying at this family friendly site. You always feel welcome and Christine and Kieth provide an excellent service.
We moved our pitch this year but did find the wind an issue compared to previous years. We stayed on KEA 22 which was a large serviced pitch. We had a 4 berth tent, 3 pop up pups and a day tent which fitted comfortably with room for two vehicles.
The toilets and showers were cleaned regularly and we never queued. It was a shame that our closest block was closed. A bit of a treck in the middle of the night!
We ate at the cottage inn on one evening during our stay. The food was good quality, appropriate quantities at a reasonable price. The bar was also well stocked and priced as you would expect.
The boys particularly enjoyed Fonzes Kareoke night which always seemed to be popular, other nights the bar was quiet.
There is a shop which we only used for essentials like milk and bread. There is a Co-op in Perranporth and a large Morrisons in Newquay.
A great holiday and we will definitely return next year.

Have just had 2 weeks at this site, arrived after a long journey (accident on the motorway didn't help)to a happy, cheerful christine on reception!
Site very secure with vehicle number plate recognition gates,
was pointed to our spot for the holiday next to friends of ours who had already arrived in their caravan,
close to all the facilities, toilet block, laundry room (could do with a change machine in either laundrette or games room), games room, swimmming pool (not a heated pool - as stated on website),
The Cottage Inn pub, shop (very basic), not a lot of choice.
Pitch was dry and clean and very spacious, enough room for our 8 berth tent and gazebo.
The site is in an excellent location, 3 miles from Perranporth, 5 miles from Newquay and easy access to the A30.
The Toilets were cleaned daily but did tend to run out of soap/hand wash very quickly. Showers are of the push button type so had to keep pressing to get constant hot water.
Tried the food at The Cottage Inn it was reasonable, drinks normal prices. There was the odd bit of entertainment at the club, quiz nights, karaoke nights with fonzie (not the best singer/entertainer) but funny for all the wrong reasons.
Camp is a very quiet site, we even got treated like school kids at one stage and told to go to bed at 12. 10am, (because we were sat in our friends awning having a few drinks and talking quietly), no warning, no friendly chat, just waited outside our tents/caravan until we went to bed - couldn't believe it!
Up until that stage we were going to re-book for next year but they must make enough money off the regulars not to bother with new customers!
Nice Site, Good Location, a good site if you want to be in bed by half 11pm, not a good site if you actually want to enjoy yourself on holiday!
Not-Recommended for people who want to go on holiday and enjoy themselves!

We spent a week here at the beginning of the month and on the whole had a good time, but I'm failing to see why it's classed as a 5 star camp site?
We were on the Jacobstow field, which was really nice - you get gorgeous sunset views and the pitches are all a good size. However, we were on a triangular shaped pitch, and because of the size of our tent (Vango Maritsa 700) and the location of both tents on the adjoining pitches, we had to set up right at the front of our pitch, otherwise our bedroom pods would have been literally inches from the neighbouring tents.
We had a couple of really windy days and because of the location of the camp site it was a bit scary at times, we worried at times our tent was going to take off but fortunately it was fine - although most people on our field lost their gazebos/windbreaks
The toilets were OK. But they didn't seem to be cleaned very often - not once did we see any cleaners during our week's stay - in fact other than when we arrived and booked in on reception, we never saw anyone staff-wise all week?
The pool was OK, we only used it twice but we had 2 niggles with it - 1) It's supposed to be heated - it's flipping freezing and 2) other than the toddler paddling pool area it's not really suitable for very young children as it's the same depth all the way across (1. 2m)which means it was too deep for our 5 year old to stand up in, in any part of it. A sloped bottom would be better? But if you've older (taller) kids, this won't be an issue.
There's a good play park but it gets very busy and kids tend to hang around there unsupervised - they also congregate in the toilet block next to the play park which just happens to be the one nearest Jacobstow which we found a bit annoying.
We only used the takeaway once, we bought 2 portions of chips as we'd forgotten to buy some potatoes for our evening meal. They cost £4. 90 so we didn't go back. Also it's only open for 3 hours a day, 1.5 hrs in the morning and the same again in the evening. We didn't use the shop as it wasn't open the couple of times we needed something.
The washing up areas were good apart from other campers leaving them in a dirty state sometimes
All in all it's a good site in a fantastic area, you really are spoilt for beautiful beaches and places to go, but I doubt we would go again - like I said earlier I can't see why it's a 5 star camp site really

Despite the weather being grim we had a great short break. The area is wonderful with lots to do and beautiful beaches (which were almost empty possibly due to the wind and rain. )
I was disappointed by Newperran. Certainly not what I would call a 5 star campsite.
Positives: The pool was nice, my daughter enjoyed it and we had a lovely if not cheap breakfast. The girls that worked in the bar and restaurant were friendly and helpful. The pitch was a good size and there are quite a few toilets and showers. There's also plenty of space for the kids to play on.
Negatives: The shop has very limited stock, there was a mix up about pitches, the site is quite exposed and there were lots of dogs. My main gripe was that the toilets and showers were only cleaned once over the weekend we were there. It's mid-season and busy.
Sanitary bins are just open buckets in the cubicles and they were overflowing by the time they were cleaned on Sunday. Maybe they had a staffing problem that weekend but it was really quite dirty.
As mentioned by some other people the bins were outside the park, just big skips down the driveway. Although I can see you want to keep waste as far away as possible it's good to have a litter bin or two on site.
The site is ok but far from the best in the area.

We were disappointed with this camp site. We arrived in the first week of September after the bank holiday only to find that the majority of the facilities they advertised were closed. Swimming pool closed. Toilets not cleaned for the 48 hours we stuck it out for. They told us that it was off peak season - I don't think early to mid September is off peak - low season maybe.
The pitches were good sizes and our fully serviced pitch was good.
We were supposed to stay for a week but moved on after 48 hours. No refund was given despite our reasons for going were because many of the facilities were closed or only partially open.
We would not recommend this site to anyone unless you were planning to be there during peak season. A costly and annoying experience.

We stayed here for a week as a family with two young children. Excellent campsite, quite basic but has everything you need and is ideally located to explore cornwall.
The pitches were all around the edge of several fields, leaving the middle as a great place for the children to play. The children's play area was enjoyed by our two boys, and the shop stocked all of the basics you need.
The outdoor pool and the bar looked nice, but can't really comment as we didn't use them.
Toilets and showers were always clean, and the week we stayed the site was very quiet and peaceful.
We would definitely stay here again.

Well just got back from a 10 day break on this site. The site is very well equipped with launderette restaurant shop and a lovely swimming pool which whilst we were there was kept spotlessly clean.
The hosts were very helpful and friendly as were the staff. There are rules around the park and are mentioned in the brochure which the hosts are very keen to keep in place so everyone has a wonderful stay.
Its ideally located to get to other parts of cornwall too. We found this park to be very family orientated and our 2 girls aged 10 and 12 had a very enjoyable stay. We were a little concerned about our eldest as she is coming up to 13 and wondered if she would find some girls her own age. Fortunately she did and they both absolutely loved it.
We don't like to go to the same place twice but we definitely would visit this park again. The showers toilets and pot wash rooms were spotless with plenty of hot water whatever time of the day
My only gripe was the shop wasn't open very long few hours in the morning and a few hrs in the afternoon and you have to order a paper not able to go and just get 1 but this aside it was great

We visited the site this year and found the site well looked after and pitches were well kept and level. Toilet blockes were very clean and well looked after. Views from the site were very good and the swimming pool was well sheltered from the wind by a small wall all round and was clean and well kept.
Christine & keith the owners were very friendly and helpful especially when our car broke down which kept us on site for a whole weekend.
Unfortunately the only drawback on the site was the wind which the owners had no control over the only other problem was that the people who run the cafe on site walked out prior to us being there so had chance to sample the cafe but do understand that Keith has plans for a new restaurant / Cafe next to the pub which was large and spacious and a new childs play area.
Perranporth was less than 10mins drive fron the site. And for those who wished to dine out there was a good pud The New Inn in the village that served wonderful food and a carvery twice a week which we found was to much to eat.
If we returned to this site in the future we would pitch on a different field more sheltered from the wind as everybody knows the north coast of Cornwall has a reputation for being windy.

We (me,my kids aged 8 and 9) stayed here last week. As relatively new campers this was our first week long stay and we couldn't have chosen a better site.
On arrival we were greeted by the owner who was very welcoming and gave us lots of info about the site. She also managed to move our pitch to be nearer a toilet block as my foster daughter has issues with wetting! Our pitch on Edmonton Field was perfect. Next door to the toilets with easy access to the park and shop. The pitch was clearly marked out and felt very spacious. The one minor issue was it was a long run to the hook up so my lead was at full stretch!
The toilet and shower blocks scattered across the site were modern, clean and there was plenty of hot water. I think we only queued once for a shower. Washing up facilities were equally good.
The Cottage Inn provided a comfortable place for an evening drink. The staff were friendly, price and choice reasonable and when there was entertainment on it was always good.
We didn't use the pool but it looked good! The shop was well stocked and prices were ok. Don't forget to order a paper if you want one!
The only let down was Abigails cafe. I don't think this was owned or managed by the site and in fact closed down half way through our stay which the site owners were very upset about.
We would definitely go there again!

A great site and I would echo all that has been said. We found the toilet blocks modern and very clean. Christine and Keith are very friendly as are all the staff. Some reviewers have moaned about the price of the launderette but we found it reasonable for a campsite and washing liquid is included in the wash. Fresh bread would be nice in the shop but its exactly as you would expect a campsite shop to be! We hope to return as the location is perfect for exploring Cornwall. We had the cheapest electric pitch and to be honest it was a bit tight, this did however leave loads of room in the centre of the field which was great for our boys to run and play. The bar is very friendly and has entertainment, not really to my taste but it takes all sorts! Overall a fantastic gem of a site, so glad we found it.
