We have just returned from a weeks holiday and we will have to say we weren't disappointed with this site. The whole site was kept very clean, the toilet and shower block also clean and well maintained. My husband fished 4 days out of 7 and wasn't disappointed. There was a live band on in the bar which was very good. All the staff we found very friendly and the owners couldn't do enough for you. The only down side was there didn't seem to be sufficient rubbish bins but having side that when they were emptied people still tendered to over fill the bin nearest to them. Why. This was no detriment to the owner or the site, just stupid human nature. We will definitely be returning.

I stayed at sycamore lakes this year trying it for the first time, I have been going to Skegness for the past 18 years. As I wanted a change so I tried this site I was very impressed with the politeness of the staff and other guests, the cleanliness and the lay out of the site, the fishing was off good standard as were all the other amenities on the site. I will definitely be booking to go back next year, would recommend to anyone thinking of going to do so.
Many Thanks to the site owners

1st time fisherman staying here on this camp-site. Site was nice and clean, Smell from the Sess pit was very off putting. I know it was very hot but you don't need that smell when you are sat around your tent or fishing. Toilets very clean but no hot water for two of our 7 day stay. The lakes restaurant was nice but a bit on the expensive side. Poppy's just up the road do very nice food at half the price. I was very concerned about the state of the carp, they have really bad lesions and are mostly deformed, very upsetting to say the least, the mouth's are in very poor condition. There is plenty of fish to catch in all ponds but very worrying when you see the state of the fish. I will not recommend this site.

Our 3rd visit in 4 years so they have to be doing something right.
We missed last year so this was our first visit since The Lakes opened. Very nice inside if not a little pricey. There is a good selection of drinks and the speciality food nights are great.
The toilet block was as good as usual and the cleaners warrant a special mention, what a lovely couple they are.
The rubbish problem still hasn't been addressed, toward the end of the week it overflows.
The fishing was as good as usual, although personally I struggled a bit, but I still managed to pull out some decent fish.
The site does, as some people have mentioned, suffer when the wind is up. We have experienced strong winds every visit and it doesn't half get up, I'm surprised we haven't suffered more damage than we have. I thought we'd lose the tent this year but escaped with just a little damage to the Vango TBS II straps.
Unfortunately just over half way into our 14 night stay our lovely neighbours on one side were replaced by two inconsiderate ruffians (I'll not say what I really called them) who ruined our break. We put up with their noise for 3 or 4 days but we'd had enough by then and went home a couple of days early.
The owner was great, she offered to move them, but we'd not had much sleep since they had arrived and we really wanted to leave, so she gave us a voucher to cover the 2 nights we missed.
We'll definitely be back next year to use it, the owners really have done a great job over the last 28 years to get the site to where it is now.

First time on this site, went for the fishing and was not disappointed. They have a small tackle shop on site. Pitches are mainly large hard standing, but they are very open and the wind can be vicious. The showers and loos are first class and always warm. I found the restaurant very good if a little pricey. There was a very good 5 piece band playing modern jazz & swing music.
Unfortunately they still have not done anything about the rubbish that other people have complained about and as I was there over a bank holiday there was a mountain of split rubbish bags all over the place.

Just returned from a weekend and this site is fabulous. The setting is beautiful, site is very well kept with lovely wide pitches. Amenities include a fully tiled, free toilet/shower block, kept spotless by a very dedicated cleaning team.
The new restaurant provides very good cuisine and good service from friendly staff. We weren't there for the fishing but apparently the lakes are well stocked and much appreciated by the fishermen.
At £17 for the van and 2 adults, and £1. 50 for the dog with no other expenses, it provides good value. The village is only a walk away with more good pubs, shops and small supermarkets. A definite return.

Just returned from this site, lovely site clean and well kept. Only a few problems: rubbish around bins, very unsightly. could do with another toilet and shower block as site is getting bigger.
Went to the restaurant for Sunday lunch had roast beef, meat was under cooked, when I complained I was told that I should have asked for my meat to be well done when I ordered it. Was very expensive for what you got, old restaurant was a lot better.

Second stay here at sycamore lakes, and overall very happy with everything. Shower/toilet facilities immaculate, considering the rain/sludgy conditions !
Bin area very off-putting however. Everyone making comments about it too. Far too much rubbish and not enough bins. Something easily rectified, and very necessary, don't understand why nothing has been done!
The new restaurant (The Lakes) looks very nice indeed, and we popped in twice. Once for drinks and once for an evening meal. Lovely decor, etc and the food was delicious. However there was just not enough of it, nothing worse than going out for a relaxing meal and coming back to the caravan still hungry, wasn't cheap either. A lot of work to be done there. Just up the portions. Shave a bit off the price and hey presto you will get return business.

Our 3rd year in a row. We have just returned from a 4 day stay. We were allocated a pitch at booking, but on arrival it was already taken, a quick phone call to reception sorted us another pitch.
The pitch was fairly dry considering all the rain we have had recently, but the access road was very muddy and churned up, making the car slip and slide at even very slow speeds.
Unfortunately you had to cross the muddy river each time you went to the amenities, take your wellies!
The toilet block and washing up area were cleaned regularly and warm, showers nice and hot, and free. Access to the disabled facilities was very useful for 2 of our party. The site was very quiet at night, which makes all the difference.
The bins were overflowing with loose rubbish and dozens of bags surrounding the bins, quite an eyesore. The site is in a nice village and not far from the fun of Skegness.

Nice site, clean amenities. No issues with bins as other reviews had said but wasn't too busy. Easy check in.
Had a new restaurant and bar, no kids menu so was disappointed with that, couldn't afford to eat there more than once. Very nice décor but bit too much for the area and us fishing type, felt very out of place. Have fished there before and eaten at the old cafe which was perfect, would have preferred to have one of the old full English breakfasts. The ladies working were really nice. Serves a nice pint.
Nice village, lovely pub up the road. Nice local kids park. Big car boot over the road. Short car ride into ingoldmells and Skegness.
Will definitely visit again this year, but venture off site for food.
