Overall impression of this site was very good.

Pitch space seemed generous and were well kept.

Toilet / Shower block were very clean and shower was hot.

Local shops pubs were quite near although never tried them.

Biggest disappointment was play area, this was just a barren space with a broken chair and some tyres in it. They would be better to not advertise this facility.

Have to agree with previous reviews there wasn't enough waste / refuge points and the only one was always overfull and rubbish just bagged up around them

Our second visit in two years, this year we had two weeks starting at the end of August.

No changes to the services offered. The cafe, fishing shop, pitches and toilet blocks are all just as good as last year, no problems at all. The rubbish problem also hasn't changed, the bins behind the toilet block are permanently overflowing.

The fishing was okay, the windy weather didn't help, although the Tigris and the extension stood firm.

The pubs in the village are pretty good, I would recommend the Fleece for excellent food and the Red Lion for drinks (Black Sheep on tap).

The only niggle I have is with the owner. For the second year in a row we (and others) were asked to move cars, extensions, wind breaks etc so he could use the space in between the tents/caravans to land his Microlight. And again for the second year in a row, after everyone complied, the Microlight didn't appear? Now, aside from the Health & Safety risk (the space really isn't that wide), please decide if you want a tent field on your campsite or if you want to leave the field empty for your flying hobby.

The static caravan pitches are being extended and a new restaurant is under construction. This can only improve an already good site.

Not a lot to say really. Staff friendly site ok, shower block nice and clean.

Not too impressed with cleanliness of the shop.

Not a lot around the site. The only place to visit really is Skegness and once you have spent a couple of hours there that's enough for 1 year.

Would not go back as there is nothing about worth visiting.

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday at this camp site. The people were very pleasant. The food in the cafe was second to none. The fishing was superb,

The toilet and shower block was spotless at all times,

The only draw back was that we paid to put our awning up but couldn't due to the pitch being stoney and the ground underneath was like concrete,

That said we will definitely be returning,

The walk to the local village wasn't too bad, but I think the site could do with a shop for daily produce ie bread and milk etc,

The on site tackle shop is well priced with everything you need for a good days fishing

The start of the holiday didn't go well, I was contacted on two occasions asking if we still wanted the pitch as we had not paid our deposit and they would cancel the booking if we did not contact them that day. We paid the deposit in June and the cheque was definitely cashed and they had sent me a receipt! We did not get an apology for their mistake.

We were pitched in what they call the 'hanger'. This was next to a hedge and we were surrounded by wasps. We reported the problem as we were unable to leave the tent door open as we ended up with loads in the tent. We reported it and was told if WE found the nest they would get rid of it. I didn't want to spend my holiday hunting for a wasps nest!

The bins were more than overflowing with rubbish piled high. This was very smelly and the wasps that wasn't trying to get in our tent spent their day abuzzing around there. It was a busy weekend with campers so this wont have helped but they were overflowing even before the start of the bank holiday weekend.

The toilets were clean and tidy and the showers were always warm. The dog walk didn't have any bins and wasn't well marked out.

I wouldn't go back to this site again. My partner spent some time fishing and caught a couple of fish so this cheered him up and the village was a short walk away and was a nice way to spend an afternoon.

Just been here for 3 days and I wouldn't be too bothered about going back, for a start there was no security gate on the touring entrance, people were driving rather fast around the site and it would seem nothing was done about this. There didn't seem to be any security staff.

Dog walking facilities very poor, no specific dog walking areas or bins. The large bins at the shower block where overflowing when we arrived which created a major problem with wasps, the site seems to be completely over run by them.

On a brighter note the shower block was very nice with good water pressure and temperature. The location is very good as well, a taxi was about a tenner into ingoldmells. The village is a short walk away with a few pubs and a shop and a car boot across the road from the campsite

Didn't really live up to its reviews. We went to pitch on arrival as per instructions and set up. Definitely need metal pegs, couple in next pitch went and spent £20 buying some! After 4 days told awning should be on grass, which we would have preferred, but no notices etc telling you how to pitch, people just followed suit of vans already sited.

Toilet door code lock broken so had to be wedged open on 'Gents' for 3 days. Wash cubicles had not a single hook to hang towel or clothing.

Rubbish bins overfilled and bags left all round bins.No re-cycling of rubbish apparent.

We had an enjoyable week but the 'niggles' did make you wonder what alternatives are around.

We are not new to vanning so appreciate it when all is right and this site could very easily achieve that.

Just got home after 9 nights at this site. It was supposed to be 8 but would have been 88 if we didn't need to be back at work, we booked an extra night after only 2 days.

I wouldn't use the term 'the best' as we have stayed at some wonderful sites but we have only 2 categories, would return, wouldn't return, and this site easily fitted into the would return category.

Arrival after a 3.5 hour drive was no hassle, we already knew our pitch so parked up and went to pay. The pitch was very large, almost double the width of others (although midway through the week someone arrived while we were out, missed their pitch and pitched on the other half of ours.). I would think that there isn't any pitch further than 90 seconds walk from the toilet block.

The toilet block is as described, very well maintained and clean, with adjoining wash up and laundry rooms.

The cafe is great, and the tackle shop has everything you need. The fishing lakes are well stocked and even an amateur like me was able to catch.

The village of Burgh le Marsh is easily walkable and had 6 pubs I think, remarkable for a village of that size, we had good meals in The White Hart and The Fleece and enjoyed the atmosphere of the The Red Lion for the England World Cup matches. The Chinese takeaway was good, as was the Fish & Chip Shop (a little greasy though).

Skegvegas is a 10 minute drive and has everything you can think of associated with a seaside town.

Please don't go to this site without visiting the carp pond (next to the cafe), just walk on to the viewing platform and just tap your foot on the wood. What a great sight.

All in all a beautiful site at a very very decent price (£16 per night with electric).

This year we visited this site twice - June and September so clearly it falls into the category of 'would return' - see review P7hut.

The fishing lakes provide an air of tranquillity and most people are there for the fishing, so despite it being busy it is quiet at night.

We do agree with other comments about the bins overflowing and really they need to be emptied more frequently when there are a lot of people on site - particularly after the weekends. However, this was a minor niggle.

The cafe on site is very good and the ladies in there (amongst whom is the owner), are very friendly, helpful and efficient. The shower block/toilets are superb - spotless - and the block is heated too which is very welcome early in the morning. The laundry room (which is also clean) has machines that work - often in these places they don't. The drier is particularly good.

It is interesting to note in Dixc's review that they were told to pitch the awning on the grass because on both occasions we have been everyone, including ourselves, have pitched the awning on the hard core, and believe us when we say it is the hardest hard core we have ever hammered really heavy duty steel pegs through! Wish we and the rest of the site had been advised we could use the grass - it just looked too perfect to put an awning on.

Burgh Le Marsh is just a 10 minute walk through the fields at the back of the site or 15 minutes down the main road. The village does have about 6 pubs, and in our opinion the best food is served in The Fleece with the White Hart coming second. The Red Lion however is a good, friendly place to drop into for a drink - Phillip behind the bar is quite a character!

If you like bike riding, there is a cycle track that runs alongside the A158 all the way into Skegness but be warned - there are hawthorn hedges along the way and understandably perhaps the farmers aren't too concerned about picking up the cut offs. In short, there is a risk of puncture. However, there's an excellent cycle shop on Roman Bank in Skeg (not open Mondays) who are well used to fitting a new tube and do so in minutes whilst you wait. The ride takes about 20 minutes.

We do think this site is one of the better ones we've been to and look forward to going back there next year.

We have just arrived back from a long weekend at Sycamore Lakes, here is my review...a lovely well maintained site, toilet/shower block the best I have seen, very clean and modern.

The downside for our stay was the owner came banging on our caravan just after 9 am on our first morning to question about our low voltage led lights we had on our pole. He said they were using too much electric( if this was the case it would have tripped our electric hook up, which it didnt) also he then said about having our halogen heater on in the awning was also using too much electric( the weather was particularly cold and wet and we felt the need to keep us warm and try to dry our damp clothes) this put a bit of a damper on our holiday.

Although dogs are welcome there didnt appear to be any dog poo bins throughout the site. Also for a busy bank holiday weekend the rubbish was overflowing the wheelie bins and was piled around the bin even on the tuesday when we left.

The lakes around the site seemed very popular and are ideal if you love fishing. We tried the chinese in the village and it was the best we have ever had , its called Golden Mill but they dont deliver but its only a few minute drive.
