The views from this site are awesome, and it's literally only a short 5 minute walk downhill to the fantastic beach. Site staff were friendly.
OK, that's all the good points. This site is seriously let down by the shocking state of the toilet and shower facilities. Although I did see a young lad working very hard to clean them, he was fighting a losing battle from the start. I am amazed that some other reviewers have said that these facilities are not bad - well they must have poor bathrooms at home!
I think it's very poor that you have to buy shower tokens at 20p each, even though the site staff say that the money goes to local charities. So what are we paying site fees for then, if you still have to pay for showers? I'm not against giving to charities, but this should be voluntary not compulsory.
Also, they give you a single bog-standard loo roll (pun intended!) so when you go to the loos carrying it you might as well be announcing to other campers that you're going to have a poo!
This is a brilliant location and we enjoyed hot sun and had a great time, but we will not return to this site until they demolish and rebuild their toilets. Right next door is another campsite which looks like it has first-rate toilets, we'll be going to that one next time!

We have just returned from a weekend here. The weather fantastic and the site was excellently situated with a short walk to the beach/pub. The playpark and green area for the children was very good.
There is a shop on site which was quite well stocked.
We were sited near to the bottom shower block which I thought was disgusting. I did not use the showers as it would have disturbed too much wildlife ! probably never seen any cleaning products or a mop for some months and to take your own toilet roll with you, however it was supplied on arrival, was terrible. What is the point in this? The washing up facilities were not good. Very dirty and was afraid to wash my dishes in the area for what I might have been ill with after! Also, it was almost a building site near to the reception/shop with surplus rubble and blocks, perhaps a new shower/washing up block is being planned. A clean one ! It could be an excellent site if the owners took a bit more pride in it. I hope it improves and then I may return.

Stayed here for 2 nights during midweek. It was quiet, no problems waiting for showers etc. And plenty of room for the kids to play. Playground was great for the kids too.
One shower block was much cleaner and modern than the other, shower tokens not a problem. Generally a clean campsite. Taking toilet roll with you was a bit of a pain especially for the kids running back to the tent to collect it before dashing to the the toilet.
Nice walk down to the beach but a bit of a climb back up !
The shop was ok but open at random times with no set opening times, really not convenient with 3 hungry kids waiting for milk to eat breakfast!
The staff were all friendly and welcoming, I would stay here again.

Were booked in by other members of the party, so I didn't choose the site. Was more than a little surprised to find out it was £24 a night for a tent (included electric hook up we didn't need, and were not offered a refund, also facilities at a bare minimum, no clubhouse or pool and a poor shop. )
Anyway, arrived early evening to a busy site. After visiting reception, where we were handed our toilet roll and a list of rules, we pitched our tent. Were told the guy would be down to check our pitch (once he had finished his tea behind the reception desk) but he never materialised.
The site was tiered, so the pitch was flat, with a good view of the coast. Most pegs went in first time, only a few stones which is to be expected.
Toilets and showers in the top block were clean, however did need updating, the hand drier never worked. Went into the lower block only once and the lights didn't work and wasn't so clean.
Shower tokens were needed and were 20p each. Most felt the tokens never lasted long enough, but I found the time was ok. Also if you do need to put in another token, its outside the door - difficult when your in the nude!

We stayed at this campsite for 3 nights over the late may bank holiday. Many other campsites in the area were full when we booked the weekend before. We paid £79 for 3 nights which included electric hookup. The pitches were ok we had plenty of room, the children seemed to enjoy the play area! Lovely views from the site.
There are 2 shower/toilet blocks, 1 always seemed to be grubby I never saw any evidence of cleaning the whole time I was there! I like to shower every morning but I only showered once as I didn't like the look of the showers, this is unheard of for me! When I took my shower it was in the block at the top of the field, I purchased 1 20p token for the shower thinking this would be plenty, which it would have been if the electric hadn't tripped whilst I was in there which also turned off the shower, when it came back on my shower time was run out, luckily for me there was a lovely lady in the block who put another token in for me, apparently this was the 3rd time it had happened that morning.
Also I didn't like the idea of taking your own toilet roll with you when going to the toilet, I forgot twice so it did annoy me.
The pub is within walking distance and was very busy on Sat night, it isn't great but it is somewhere to go when it rains!
I will not be returning to this site, there must be others with better facilities in the area.

We had a good pitch near to the reception block and the playpark and really enjoyed our holiday. Our two eldest boys 8 and 6 had a whale of a time playing with the other kids on scooters, bikes and had numerous kick abouts with a football. We previously visited a couple of years ago.
The pitch was good, plenty of room and not over officious with the layout.
The toilet block we used had been refurbished and was clean. Showers take a bit of warming up but were fine when they got going.
The shop is ok, although they had run out of milk one day which wasn't ideal. The shop in port eynon has closed down, the building is being refurbed - not sure if its going to be a shop again. There are other shops 5 mins drive away
There are two ways down to the beach, the shortest is to the side of the toilet block near the reception car park. 5 mins down, and yes a heck a climb back up. Good exercise but not a problem for us with a buggy (and beach gear).
Loads of great beaches nearby.
The beach in port eynon is good and there are lifeguards on patrol. Sand good for digging/ sand castles. There are rock pools and the water is clear.
Swansea is 30mins away and there is loads to do - excellent swimming pool (LC2), waterfront museums, marina, shops, plantasia, cinemas etc etc.

Spent a few nights here and used it as a base to visit the beautiful surrounding area.
We had a great pitch, not too close to others, and with a lovely view. Toilets/showers were reasonably clean - I wouldn't have used them if they weren't.
Don't much like having to buy shower tokens but I understand why the owners may feel the need to do this.
I don't have any problem with lots of rules, but I did have to smile at the leaflet given to us which contained the contradictory phrases 'Help reduce our carbon footprint.' and (later) 'We do not allow washing of clothes to be hung out to dry. We have a laundry with tumble dryers.' Very eco-friendly - not!
We enjoyed walking from the site down to Port Eynon and along the beach. Would be happy to return to this site.

I would not agree with the other reviews. On arrival we found the owners very friendly, the park was well maintained. We had a choice of pitches (all were very nice) Although the site is on a slight hill the pitches are tiered and relatively flat.
The toilets and showers are a little dated but were always clean (cleaned every morning) Taking the loo roll with you is a bit weird but you soon get used to it.
The children's park is nice and seemed well used.
It is a short walk down to the village /beach.
Although there are a couple of pubs they didn't appear to be all that nice so we did not use them, however there is a hotel a short drive away which does great food and real ales.
There are rules to abide to, but these are no different to any other camp site and yes you can play music!

Probably the easiest site to get on if your booking last minute in this area. All other sites were fully booked until September but we had no problem with this site. You can't book a weekend only until Thursday morning as they like to book the people who want to stay a week or more first but as they release about 50 slots on a Thursday morning this is not a problem.
We didn't arrive till 8.30pm Friday night but the owner was very good and waited for us. There was a shop on site but it did run out of the essentials early. They give you lots of room to pitch and the site is quite after 11pm. Pub, reasonably priced meals ,a restaurant, cafe, chip shop and pizza take out within 5 mins walk.
Yes, shower blocks are dated but it didn't bother us. Toilet roll provided on entry as none in toilets. This was only annoying if you forget! Tokens for showers are for a good cause and showers hot.Lovely views and beach 5 mins away.

Returned early from this campsite. Have really mixed views about this site. A very pricey site for facilities offered. Most run down toilet and shower block we have ever stayed on. Feel that no monies are being ploughed into this site and is looking very tatty. Also we were in the middle of a field of caravans that are sited all year so all the best pitches and views are taken
We could just make out the sea from our pitch!
I felt the reception like the toilets was very shabby. Also as the pitches are sloped we did have a lot of rain and were squelching underfoot in the awning.
Some other reviews mentioned the rules - this also made us smile, particularly the one that if the bins are full you have to go and find another one ! I think that is for the owners to keep them emptied!
Having said all this we were told by another camper that the shower blocks had a new roof fitted and the site was being updated! So maybe worth another look in a few years time.
