Friends chose this campsite for us and we looked at the website before we left and it looked really good. The view once you enter the campsite is really nice - you can see the beach as well as quite a lot of the surrounding area. The tent field however is quite muddy on the pitches and once the tent is up it feels like play dough under your feet! The weather was really bad but we went down to the beach anyway (walk down not bad)and had a good time in the sea (freezing!) and then we made the most of the ice cream and fish and chip shops which weren't too badly priced (portion of chips which were a fair size £1.80). We washed off in some showers on the outside of the beach toilet facilities and they were warm :) We went back to the tent and looked around the campsite. From what we could see the play area which was a good size looked really good for the younger child and was fenced off nicely. The shop however was very basic and hardly open with no opening times shown and when you come off the beach freezing cold and wanting a shower token and find the shop closed you have no option but to wait. We were told it would be open by 1:30 but it still wasn't open for another 15minutes. The tokens are 25p and the money goes to a local school. We felt that seeing as we had paid a fair amount to stay here we should have free shower facilities. Once we eventually got our showers they were warm and for your token you got ages which was very nice :) In the evening the campsite was quiet but we did notice not once in the day apart from in the shop did we see the staff.

Stayed for five nights in this lovely location, with great views over Port Eynon Bay on sunny days! We were given our toilet roll and list of rules when we checked in together with a 'What's on Guide' to the Swansea area - a very useful guide.
The two shower blocks and toilets still need updating as mentioned in previous reviews - they are a bit shabby and run down - although generally clean and taking your toilet roll is not a really big deal unless you happened to forget to take it with you.
The showers in the ladies 'lower block' lasted different amounts of time, but ample for your 25 pence, it was also confusing as to which meter belonged to which shower.
The surrounding area is beautiful, and we we were fortunate enough to have good weather to enjoy several of the many beaches.

Just spent the weekend at Newpark and had a pretty good time there.
Firstly, the owners are so accommodating. We arrived over two hours late, a combination of the traffic and leaving home later than we should have (first timers!) and this simply was not a problem.
We then proceeded to have umpteen problems with our 'van, which the owners helped us with, which on a busy Friday night was SO good of them.
There is a fair sized play park, not so great for little ones (our LO is 2 and it was far too old for him, no toddler swings and the small slide was over a tricky swing bridge which I didn't like too much either!) but the older children had a fantastic time.
We didn't use the toilet blocks as we were using our own facilities but you do still get a toilet roll which made me smile:o)
The shop is really well stocked, you can buy most things there (except unfortunately a leisure battery, we bought our 'van from a really great dealer!).
Only gripe would be that there were a number of kids on skateboards there at the same time as us which made a bit of a racket as were just at the end of a small hill. Some of the older children were a bit noisy too but to be fair, they were good kids and piped down when you asked them nicely. There is a strict 10.30 noise policy too which is fab for those with young families.
All in all, a very pleasant stay, just a fifteen minute walk to the centre of Port Eynon and the beach (fab rock pools!). Had to carry the buggy down about five steps to get there but the rest was buggy friendly. We will definitely go back.

Me and my husband stayed here for a weekend in May on a spare of the moment thing. We originally wanted to stay at Three Cliffs Campsite but they were fully booked however I thought it was a really nice campsite, beautiful views and a really laid back atmosphere. You are giving rules when you arrive but I think that's a good thing, it lets you know what is to be expected. I particularly like the fact you cant play music, there is nothing more annoying then hearing the thud of the beat, if you want to listen to music bring headphones :-)
There is no loo paper in the toilet block which can be annoying if you walk all the way there and have forgotten but it does mean that there arent bits of loo paper on the floor making it look messy.
The wash blocks are dated but functional and do the job. I thought the owners where a little scary when we first arrived but once we spoke to them a few times we realised they were lovely but just don't stand for any nonsense which is fair enough.
The campsite is very much geared to families, so I wouldn't recommend this site to a young couple. It was lovely but I would go to other site first, as we don't have children I found the older kids running around right outside our tent a little annoying!
But all in all a good campsite with amazing views.

The site is in a fantastic location - only 10 minutes down to the sea (15 minutes back as the return walk is up a very, very steep hill). The Smugglers Restaurant in Port Eynon itself offered lovely food, and the early bird deal was good value. There are 2 chippies down by the beach and we enjoyed their fare! There are plenty of walks from the campsite - we walked through to Three Cliffs Bay, on clearly marked paths. The local bus service is amazing, as all the buses wait in laybys to provide a seamless service across the whole Gower peninsula.
I have not yet mentioned the campsite itself - we went the first week of the season. The shop was closed when we arrived and we could get no service on the mobile to contact the owner - we ended up walking down the hill to her house, only to be asked to wait in the car park until she had finished her dinner. We were not given a toilet roll (as previous reviewers have mentioned), we had to take our own to the toilet each time. After our long walk along the coast, we were looking forward to a hot shower - one shower block we had been told was out of use due to the boiler going. We then found that the other shower block (which was not very clean) also did not have hot water - only by standing with just a towel round me, constantly pressing the button and getting stone cold water! So - 4 day visit, no showers, no loo roll and £24 per night! We did note the sign that said we should not ask for refunds! The owner was apologetic about the shower situation, but I would have hoped problems were sorted before the start of the season.

I'm afraid this is a negative review, our pitch was sodden, fair enough it had been raining for 2 weeks, and one of the helpers did put some sand down to help, which we were grateful for. Thank you. After a day, the ground was so soggy it felt as though you were on a trampoline, with a smell of sewerage, my husband said it was the anaerobic bacteria building up and gradually got worse! When I approached the owner, they said they would have a look when we had left the site, thanks! We never saw anyone cleaning the toilets throughout our stay of 5 nights and it showed. Considering the 25p shower charge, you would expect hot water. Perhaps the owners would consider lighting in the washing up area and hot water, then the sinks wouldn't get blocked so easily! For the most expensive site we had seen in the area this was such a disappointment because the views and location are superb. We would definitely return to the area but not to this site. I hope the owners will improve the facilities for next year and take note of the reviews.

This is my first time camping for a long time. I thought it was a nice campsite for a long w/end, wouldn't like to stay a week as there wasn't much to do, though we were lucky with the weather! You pay for your pitch and then told to read through a list of RULES - (I noticed there were rules everywhere), luckily none applied to us, after you have read the rules you notice a sign that no refunds are given, so my advice: check rules 1st!
I noticed there was a play area for children, which looked ok, toilets were clean, though you had to carry your own loo roll to the toilet (I think this might be a Swansea thing!)
The site to pitch the tent was flat, well layed out - (we had a beautiful view of the sea) but the ground was hard - make sure you have good tent pegs!
The shop was ok - a bit of everything for sale, but if they sold out of something, then the next shop was half a mile down a windy road, which I was told shuts at 6pm (Sat), failing this the other place was the garage on the way in, a few miles away, neither is no good if you have had a drink!
Pub (friendly), beach (look out for the seal), fish shop (Fish & chips expensive, Pie & chips very nice)all within walking distance (about 20mins from camping area), a nice campsite if your looking to go to this area.

Fantastic views, well stocked shop, and nice owners.Surrounding area beautiful, pub / beach / chip shop within walking distance from site.
Down side- toilets and showers just not up to scratch, they need updating and more of them, very little hanging space for clothes, shelves on a slope so nothing stays on them, no hairdryers in toilet block, can be found in laundry room(long way from toilet block, and another 25p token needed).
The price is on the expensive side per night, and you have to pay 25p for a shower token, they also still greet you with a toilet roll on checking in, which makes it feel rather cheap, and who wants to be seen carrying a loo roll to the toilet??
All in all we would go back, if only for the view. It's such a shame the standards of the toilet block are so grubby.

We travelled down from Preston, Lancs, on the Saturday of the Gloucester floods, when the M50 was turned into a parking lot. Didn't bode well for a 2-week camping holiday! Added to that we broke down in Birmingham on the way down and spent the first two days of our holiday in a Holiday Inn, visiting Cadbury's World which suited the wife and two kids just fine, before we could hire an estate car on the Monday to complete the journey. The campsite is terraced and some pitches were understandably sodden, but there's a good distribution of electric hook-ups and we were allowed to pick our spot (at the top of the hill). Only three other tents on arrival who didn't stay long due to conditions, but we slogged it out. Lynda the owner took pity on us and even lent us a TV/DVD for our stay to amuse the kids on wet days, a godsend. We loved the site, which is being progressively updated in response to comments and as budget allows, but all facilities were more than adequate. They now give free shower tokens (one each a day) to campers staying for a week or more, and the showers in the top block ran for longer than we wanted to stay in them! Showers blocks and kitchen area were thoroughly cleaned at crack of sparrows each morning. There were two routes to the beach, a windy road down through the chalets into the village and a straight track down through the campsite and an adjacent caravan park into the sandhills. Pleasant walk down but a bit of a climb back, managed by a 5 and 3 yr old. Swansea (40 mins drive) is up and coming, with major development at the marina and a nearby Tesco. There was a good supermarket at the petrol station five minutes away from the site on the Swansea, which we did a quick run to each morning for fresh bread, still warm. We'll definitely return, the owners make a real effort and the summer residents in caravans are very loyal. Thanks again, and sorry for the crucifix in the grass when we left Lynda. We usually use an environmental groundsheet but with the conditions opted for comfort!

We were more than satisfied with this site. We found the toilet and shower blocks were kept very clean and tidy. The showers were powerful and hot. We got four tokens everyday, but as we are a family of six, some showered in the morning and some at night so the tokens worked out well and we only had to buy two more. The beach was easily accessible from the site and the walk was not that long. We had a good pitch with a beautiful view of the beach. On arrival, we were greeted in a very friendly manner. What an excellent site, one of the best we've visited in the area. We will be returning very soon.
