Nice quiet site cheap at £14 per night for the tourer awning and electric me, wife, daughter and dog.
Toilets and showers not the greatest in the world but they are clean and usable.
Electric is only 6amps no good for a standard kettle you will need a travel kettle but I was informed they was being upgraded to more power never said when though.
The land is well maintained.
Park and ride is cheap from the designer outlet kids are free better than the parking in York town prices.
The plough inn in fulford dos excellent food that I would recommend a visit.
I would stay here again when the electric is upgraded that why I can use the kettle in a morning before dog walking.

We were greeted by Gordon who gave us a choice of site one field is sheltered but we chose the second field with a lovely view.
The toilets & shower were basic but spotlessly clean, the owners were very helpful, (fresh eggs available)
The field was partly sloping with caravan on the higher part and tents on the lower. Lots of children during the weekend but they all played well together, games and toys available plus a swing and see-saw.
Good pub in the village. York is less than 6 miles away with a park & ride 3 miles away at a designer outlet.
Well worth the £13 site fees which include elect.

Stayed for 1 week, 2 adults and 2 children aged 11 and 8. Had an absolutely fantastic time. Staff at Home Farm were extremely helpful. Considering we were literally in a farmers field, the facilities were although not the Ritz, more than adequate.
Toilets were always clean and plenty of toilet roll (plug sockets in ladies toilets for hair dryers/straightners - bonus!) Showers always had hot water no matter what time of day and although there was only 1 ladies shower and 1 mans shower there was never a queue.
Washing up facilities were indoors and always had hot water.
There is a small play area for children and small area near the washing up area with toys and books for children. You can visit the cow sheds and walk over the fields to the River Ouse where on the Sunday we watched some wake boarding.
The Blacksmiths Arms in nearby Naburn is renowned for excellent food. We also visited Cawood for a walk and hired bikes for the day from Scoot Cycles and cycled along the Sustrans path via York Races where we were lucky enough to watch some of the Eber Festival.
We used the Park & Ride at the nearby Designer Outlet for visiting York and drove into Whitby for the day too which took about 1 hour 20 mins.
We will definitely be returning soon.

It's a field in the middle of a farm. Fantastic weather, lovely environment, friendly atmosphere from the owners, to the resident caravanners.
Great for kids, small little reading room, play area (see-saw, swings), well used but great fun, hot water for dishes, showers, toilets all good - not the Ritz or a Premier Inn, but that's why we camp right? 2 adults, 3 children, had a fab time. No complaints.
We event got a tour of the cattle shed.
Lot's to do locally, Chocolate factory (boutique), York only six miles, a fab pub - The BlackSmith Arms - great food and atmosphere. Not far from the Cycle Path to York either.
Remote enough to be rural and relaxing, but close enough to York, and hamlets for the essentials.
Can't wait to get back once the summer arrives!

Stayed here midweek during late August as a lone cycle tourer in one man tent for which I paid £5 per night.
The reception was friendly, and the owner gave a good overview of the site facilities. Campers have their own field, which is tiered and away from the caravans.
You can pitch anywhere in the field. The ground was good and pegs went in well. The grass is cut, with plenty of level enough pitches. The showers are free, clean and fit for purpose. Pot washing area is also available.
This is a nice quiet farm site that seemed to attract couples and families with young children. Not suited to glampers or larger noisy groups!
I enjoyed the peace offered by this site which was silent after 9. 30 on both nights. I’ll definitely be returning.

Stayed with a friend and our children in her caravan for a few days in the first week of the school holidays. This is a very relaxed and informal site spaced over a couple of fields. We stayed on the top field, which was very flat and only housed caravans, most of which appeared to be seasonal.
The second, larger field is on several levels with ehu on the upper level and used by both caravans and tents. It is quite steeply sloping, but halfway it flattens out and then slopes again to the lower field. There is a fabulous view overlooking the fields down to the river Ouse and handy for any potential fishermen or dog walkers.
The farmhouse also has the showers/toilets attached along with a small sunroom housing the wash-up sink and information leaflets and toys.
Can't comment on the fella's facilities cos we only used the girls; which has 4 loo's and 1 trickle shower! It has a worn in and friendly feel about the place and the owner, Gordon and his daughter were very friendly and helpful.
The kids had a great time making friends and playing on the rope swings and generally playing free. The site is very handy for York, of which we biked in on the National Cycle trail 65, which is on the disused York to Selby line, a great flat track which took us on an 18 mile biked round trip. Still can't believe we all did it, kids included. This is a very laid back relaxed site great for families wanting peace and quiet or walking the dog.

First trip camping and the site was basic but excellent. Based my choice from the positive reviews on this site and was not disappointed. Visiting son at York Uni which was only 10 mins drive away. Owners very helpful. Stayed Fri and Sat night and we we're told we could leave at our leisure on the Sunday so was able to spend an extra day with my son which my daughter loved. The toilets/shower were spotless and the enclosed washing up area a bonus. Large freezer in the barn for the ice packs. We we're told to set up where we liked in the bottom field which was flat and fairly sheltered. It was so peaceful and quiet. Will definitely be using again. Excellent for York. The Designer Outlet is a pleasant visit. Must mention the 'Friendly' cows on the way in. Decided to congregate on the track and we're not Mooving! Just crawl towards them, wind down the window and bang on the door and tell them to Moove! Expert advice from the owner. Never had a problem again!

This is our fourth visit to Home Farm. The site was brilliant as always. It was great top see the owners Gordon and his daughter Jenny again.
The campsite is as always great and the weather was superb. Great walks to be had close to the farm and 50 mins away on the Yorkshire Moors.
The York-Selby cycle path is also very close to the farm. We look forward to our next visit later in the year.

We were recommended this site by a friend, and my partner and myself were pleased with the site.
On arrival the helpful owner told us we could pitch our tent wherever we wanted and to find a good spot. We chose to pitch on the bottom part of the field in the left corner. It was great in the day watching the cows in the next field.
A short walk behind the site through the field will lead you to the river, but I wouldn't let kids go down there on their own.
The toilets/showers were adequate for what we needed, but I think at busier times of the year it may be hit and miss as to whether you'd get a shower without waiting.
I don't think it was advertised on the site, but the owner told us about a freezer in the barn on the side of the house, for our ice packs - which was a godsend!
York is a 15 minute drive away and the McArthurGlen complex is only 5 minutes away and ok to keep the missus quiet for a few hours. Its worth mentioning there is a park and ride service that goes regularly from the complex to the centre of york for less than £3 return.
All in all we were happy with this quiet little site, and will most probably visit again in the future for a weekend get away.

Friends had recommended this site as they had been using it for years. We decided to go for the weekend to see what it was like. We don't like big commercial sites with supermarkets and nightclubs so this was just our type of site.
When we arrived Gordon the owner came out and let us have the choice of where we wanted to put the caravan. He then helped us to site it too. There were no restrictions about having to park it military style in serried ranks. We were on the edge of an orchard that was just heaving with apples of all different varieties.
The site was fairly quiet but everyone we met was friendly and helpful. A walk across a field gets you to the river.
It rained heavily during the night on both nights we were there but the ground wasn't muddy the next day. There is a recycling bin for everything including waste food. We didn't need to use the washing up facilities but the toilets and shower were always very clean.
The cheapest way to get into York is to park at the Macarthur Glen outlet centre and get the park and ride bus in. It's still only £2.30 return per adult and kids under 16 free when with an adult. The buses are every 10 minutes. (Last time I parked in York it cost me £9.00 for 4 hours!)
There is lots of walking and cycling routes in the area and we are all looking forward to returning there as soon as time allows.
