Fab site, well kept, owners and their family are very friendly.
Great prices, one price for all year round, no additional for electric, awning, dogs, etc like most sites. Spent a week here, and used the park and ride based around the city as parking in York itself is very hard to come by and very expensive.
Lovely area, the Sustrans cycle track is only half a mile away and runs between York and Selby along the line of the old railway. Also, there is a pub at Naburn, the Blacksmiths Arms, only a mile and a half away that serves great food, huge portions and very reasonable prices.
The site is on a working farm, and one area is alongside the river. Very picturesque. There are quite a few seasonal tourers on here, but don't let that put you off. Our first couple of nights we were the only ones on the site and it was lovely.
Great location and a good base for exploring the area. Have already booked for this summer!

A fantastic 'get away from it all' site but within easy reach of York and Selby. The owners couldn't be more friendly and helpful. We stayed Friday until Sunday. Over this weekend the owners has a coffee morning for Marie Curie and it was great. A lot of friendly people all over-eating on home made cakes and buns waiting for the results of the raffle, well done to all!
There are very few sites that the kids can play badmington, (rackets and shuttlecock kindly supplied by the owners,) while we watched from the van. Both my kids (15 and 10,) love the freedom of the acreage. In the reception area is somewher to sit while reading the information on local attractions/where to eat and maybe even one of the many books left out for visitors. A washing up area is there for your use.
I cannot praise enough whoever cleaned the toilets and showers. When we arrived it was raining on freshly cut grass, because of this everything ended up with a carpet of grass, including shoes, but not once did I go into the toilets and saw anything but newly cleaned floors and surfaces.
Only downside to this site at all, (and this is really 'nit-picking') is on a night its really dark so a torch is needed if going out. Saying that, when you get close to the toilet block an automatic light comes on for you.
Back on the A19/A64 (about 4 or 5 miles away,) is the large shopping outlet that is good for the ladies and there you can get the park and ride into York. Park and ride being the best way in and out of the city. £2 return per adult and under 16's go free.
It seemed that most of the vans there were seasonal, but don't be put off by this. We don't normally socialise easily, but everyone without exception was so friendly it made a lovely change to have so many nice people to talk to. If you have kids you (and them!) will love it. If you have a dog, they will love it. If you have an overworked hubby, he will love it! Can you tell we enjoyed it here?
Will be returning, can't wait to see how lovely this site is in the summer.

We stayed for a long weekend to make the most of the last week of the summer holidays. What a fantastic place. The facilities were cleaned several times a day, loads of hot water available. The family who run the farm are very friendly and clearly take pride in the reputation of their site. The site is not overcrowded as so many others are, which is very refreshing. Loads of peace and quiet to be found here, there is a ready supply of bat and ball games to be borrowed by children. A tree with a big rope swing provided a big hit with the two little Hootons. Its an easy trip into York from here, we recommend parking in the commuter car park behind the station (right next to the entrance to the NRM), here you can park for 24 hours for £6.

An excellent site - highly recommended! It's in between Stillingfleet and Naburn and surrounded by nice countryside and river. York is a ten minute drive away. A regular bus stops at the gates to the farm and goes between Selby and York. The last bus from York is about 11pm, so ideal if you fancy a night out. All of the staff on the site were helpful and friendly and toilets and showers were spotless and well stocked with soaps and towels etc and plenty hot water. Most pitches are grass, but they were solid and we were there in November. Returnining very soon.

This is a great site. The owners, Gordon, Jenny & Rosie were fantastic. Relaxing, peaceful & clean. Will recommend without hesitation! Toilets were clean & cleaned regularly. Showers both in men's & ladies toilet blocks with plenty of hot water. Lots of wide open fields to walk & the land goes down to the river Ouse, so great for fishing if that's your thing. Not many shops around, the nearest is small supermarket about 5 miles. Plenty of electrical hookups & plenty of room for tents of all sizes. Plenty of country pubs serving food. Historical York & Selby 15mins away.

A Great campsite to visit! I seriously recommend this campsite to anyone who enjoys scenery, rivers and countryside. There is a lot to do around the surrounding areas, lots to do for kid and adults of all ages. This campsite is about 10-15 mins away from york which is a good couple of days out. You are allowed to take pets and everybody in the farm is extremely friendly and giving you the best stay as possible. The facilities a good and clean. There is water collecting spots and electricity. I very much enjoyed my time there and will defenately go again if I have the chance to!

6 June 2003 This is a family run site on a working farm just south of York. There's fishing in the river just a short walk through the fields from the site.
The owners were very helpful and friendly and the facilities very clean. We intended to stay 2 nights but stayed a week, there was plenty to do in the area and the site was like home.
Brilliant site, would recommend it to anyone.
