Being in the unique position of being situated on National Trust owned land, the location is both perfect for beach lovers, forest lovers and bird and animal watching.
We were greeted warmly and given all the information needed for our stay. Nearly all the facilities are available except washing up and laundry (if needed).
Pitches clean, tidy and level and located in their own area away from the static homes. Toilets and showers clean and tidy however, would benefit from a refresh but perfectly adequate.
There are 2 direct routes to the beach from the site and many others outside the site.
Lovely walks in the sand dunes and forest, be aware however that some of the sand dunes are quite large and require some climbing and exertion to reach the beach but it is worth it.
A vast expanse of sand and water and if you turn left you can have most of the beach to yourself.
Fantastic location and great stay.

What a find! The owners are so friendly and helpful, with great knowledge of the local area.
Situated next to dunes and forest, you are spoilt for choice on where to walk.
Formby village is a short drive, or a decent walk away and has a good selection of shops (2hrs free parking in Waitrose in the centre) and Southport a longer drive, if you like amusement arcades-which I personally don’t!
The site has a few touring pitches situated at the edge of a static site, there is a toilet and shower block, which was clean and well maintained and waste water disposal on the hard standing pitches.
Everyone was so friendly and helpful, with tips on where to go, what to do and arrival and departure info.
It’s very relaxed, a far (and welcome) cry from overly regimented sites.
Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Great location just behind the sand dunes.
Perfect spot for our campervan.
Fell asleep to the sounds of natterjack toads and woke up to the sound of birds.

Perfect site to park up the motor home for a few nights and enjoy the peace and quiet of Formby beach.
The owners made us very welcome, the site is spotlessly tidy and the facilities were very clean.
Superb access to Formby beach and a short walk from the train station taking you up or down the coast.
We had a trip down to Crosby with fish and chips on our return to Formby.
Seeing buzzards flying above was a bonus too.

We loved it! Quiet. Lovely area.
Nice shady pitch which we were grateful for in the hottest week of the summer.
Good facilities nearby. Good Catch chippy - exceptional! And Waitrose! Very dog friendly.
Lots of chatty folk.
Toilet facilities were a bit dated but very clean.
Will definitely be back and would definitely recommend.

The site had fairly flat pitches that were ok. But only one water tap for the entire field is not satisfactory, and also no designated doggie bins.
I had to keep my doggie waste in our motorhome garbage and dispose of it in their camp waste container. Not a suitable set up.
I was their for personal reasons in Formby. It is unlikely I would return.
