The swimming pools and new extensive children's play areas make this site. The showers and loos let it down. Two out of four ladies toilets were unusable and the showers were virtually useless, with the spray going right over our heads - and they cost 20p a time. There's also no private changing area. A shame really because we won't go back because of this.

Also, whilst there is a club house on site it was only open in the evenings. So when you're using the pools in the daytime there's nowhere to get drinks or snacks. But there were lots of signs telling you not to consume your own!

We have just spent 2 nights here with friends and both our young families.

When we arrived we were shown to our pitch which we’d specifically requested due to it being so close to the fantastic playing area for the kids. This campsite has certainly splashed out on the kids park area recently with a huge wooden climbing frame, swings, slides and LOADS of extras. We were hoping as we were only pitched about 10mtrs away, we could let the kids go and use this enormous space alone as we could see them all the time, but, the small brown stream that runs alongside the park stopped that idea. Even though the stream is only about 2” deep, the banking at either side of it is very steep as my 2year old found to her horror, re-appearing as a brown swamp monster!

We paid about £25 a night for this site so were a little disgruntled to find we had to pay 20p for a 2min cold shower and as a family of 5 were thankful we were only staying for 2 nights!

The cabin toilet / shower block was very clean and pleasant to use but there was no privacy changing area inside, and as the men had to pass the open door to reach their toilet / shower entrance, it could cause an embarrassment to ladies stepping out of the 3 tiny shower cubicles.

There was a hairdryer available to use at 20p a time too. My children under the age of 6yrs found it difficult to reach the sinks and press the taps on! Families with young children need to take a step. There was cleaning spray with a cloth left on the side available for anyone to use after their shower.

There was only one working shower in the ladies swimming pool changing room that worked and with no privacy changing area in there either – something which should be thought about as the unisex disabled toilet was through this changing room!

The indoor swimming pool was not only cold (however it didn’t stop people trying it) but was very heavily chlorinated too affecting quite a few of us with sore eyes. The whirlpool was sectioned off – we didn’t know if it was out-of-order or not but it was an extra £2 to use and so was the steam room and the sauna. The outdoor swimming pool was extremely cold as my husband found out when he dived into the middle. I must say, I’ve never seen him swim so fast to get anywhere.

The laundry/washing-up facilities (1x sink for pot & pan cleaning, 1x sink for clothes washing!) were also very clean. There was a free iron and board available to use, 2 washing machines and 2 tumble driers (though one took our money twice, wouldn’t work and when we reported it couldn’t get a refund just “come to me next time you need to use it”) Again, there was a cleaning spray with a cloth and washing-up liquid left on the side available for anyone to use.

The only waste disposal area we could find was a large dirty skip within the car park.

Overall, we found it very clean, friendly, but expensive and a little dangerous for youngsters near the park.

The location area was fantastic. There was so much to see and do. Hampshire in general is a must place to visit and if this campsite was cheaper, I would maybe recommend it to people.

Nice quiet site and well located for easy access to lots of tourist spots. Good bar and lovely staff. When we go away we do not cook so we were disappointed when a restaurant/cafe was advertised and found out they have not done food for over a year. Take plenty of change with you as you have to pay for everything: Showers, sauna, steam room, Jaccuzi, Iron, hairdryer, raquets etc. The site is not cheap so you would expect these to be free. As the park is quite small it is great for the children as they can play safely on the equipment provided, there seems to be a lot of work going on. The tenting area was very over crowded and tents were pitched all over the place. Over all a clean site but we would not go back due to lack of a shop restaurant/cafe.

We have just spend a brilliant weekend at this site. Very friendly staff and a very clean site with some great facilities. 2 swimming pools were great and both the sauna an steam room were great although the jacuzzi was broken. A big 10/10.

Site quiet on arrival in lovely location with sheltered pitches.

Very helpful and friendly staff.

Toilet block very clean with good facilities.

20p showers were hot and sufficient for good shower.

Fields were well kept and tidy throughout the site.

Didn't visit the pool , sauna or club as I was fishing locally from dawn till dusk.

Wickham is only a couple of miles away will all amenities.

Would not hesitate in visiting campsite again.

On the drive into the site, all looked very nice, the grass was well-kept, pathways the same. We got to reception and booked in then where shown to our pitch. As we passed the reception building, the way the site looked changed, the pathways were falling apart, the grass areas had parts where it was nearly as tall as my 4 year old and no way as well kept as the rest of the site from the entrance to reception.

Our pitch was good for us personally, being next to the park (10m away) so we could easily watch our 2 younger ones play. The park is well in need of repair or in my opinion rebuilding as nearly everything in it was broken and what wasn't probably will be come the end of the season as it is in a bad way now.

The site has a club house that wasn't too far from us, just the other side of the park and outdoor swimming pool, no problems with noise though even on the karaoke night. The outdoor pool looked very nice and was looked after well.

I'm not going to complain about the showers being on a meter as we already knew about this before booking and 20p is long enough to get showered. My partners only complaint was that the fixed heads in the showers pointed out too far and went over her head and one went over the shower curtain so this made the shower area soaking wet and she said this was how it stayed for the whole of our visit.

I would revisit this site again, but there is still a lot of work to be done here to bring the back halve of the site up to the same spec as the very nice looking front halve.

Visited South Hants Country Club for a weekend. We had mixed feelings about this one. Firstly, we were welcomed on the Friday eve and guided to the grass touring field as it was getting dark. We were allowed to choose where to pitch in this area as it wasn't busy.

Next morning we explored. The statics vary with some oldish and some smart and obviously new - near the club house. Generally some parts of the site looked cared for whereas other parts are obviously not -a gardener is needed! The only place to leave rubbish was an unsightly skip located to one side of the car park, which was already overflowing when we arrived!

Pool area and bar ok. Outside pool would be lovely in the summer and we did sit out as the weather was fab for September whilst we were there. Too cold for the outside pool as the heating had been turned off for the season, but inside was good but smallish. Extra charge for whirlpool, steam room and sauna.

Toilet and shower facilities were ok, but only 3 showers and have to pay on a meter, and for hair-dryer. However, they were clean and plenty of hot water.

Washing up and laundrette ok - but only one sink to wash up.

On a plus note there was lots for the children to do - swimming, tennis courts, boules, badminton and table tennis.

Overall, if we knew we could pitch where we were this time again we would probably revisit, as it is close to home for us for a weekend stay.

Just come back from spending 3 nights here. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The pitches were plenty big enough. Even though there were lots of enquiries for the weekend, they were turned down, rather than cramming them in. We had a few criticisms 1. The showers were 20p with nowhere to change in privacy, also the heads were furred up therefore water went everywhere except where it should. 2. They definitely need another shower and toilet block for the amount of piches. 3. If you wanted to use the jacuzzi, steam room or sauna you had to pay £2! We went to Portsmouth and up the Spinnaker tower, visited the New Forest and Lymington. The site is really handy, so close to all main attractions, but off the beaten track and very quiet. We would highly recommend this site, but they really need to do something about the shower and toilet facilities.

This is a friendly smallish site perhaps more geared towards statics than tourers but the tent pitch field is pleasant enough.

The shower block, although a little way from the tent pitches is immaculate with plenty of hot water. There is a lack of privacy when showering and others have mentioned the 20p charge for 3.5 mins shower but this didn't bother us and it's surprising how quickly you can shower when you have to!

The pools are good, although the indoor pool is small and so is probably better suited to younger children rather than teenagers. The bar is very pleasant having more of a pub feel than many other sites we have visited and the food is good.

The only things that let this site down are the scruffy static pitches (both vacant and occupied) and tatty car park which tend to give the site an undeserved feeling of neglect.

Overall had an enjoyable break at this site.

Arrived mid week and the site was very quite, just a hand full of tents and caravans. The site is very clean and tidy and the pitches are level. The swimming pools are fantastic, they are open all day until the bar shuts, usually midnight, except sundays when it closes at 7pm.

Although the toilets and showers were very clean, it was a communal changing area which some people may be uncomfortable with, in addition a shower cost 20p for 3mins which considering the cost of pitches we would have expected them to be free of charge. Arrivals are discouraged after 6pm even so on one occasion a tent was being pitched at 10pm, not great when you have young children trying to sleep!

Generally it was a nice site, and owners do seem to be trying to make improvements, as there is some construction work going on.
