Really enjoyed our stay at Strathclyde.
It had everything we needed, showers and bathrooms were clean, all facilities were really useful and staff was very helpful and nice.
We would definitely return!

Arrived 27th December to a very welcoming warden who was polite, friendly and full of cheer. Choose our serviced pitch (winter treat), set up and had a little walk around the site.
All pitches looked level and well spaced out and nicely configured, no banks of units in endless lines like dominoes but little avenues and curves so the site felt roomy and light.
Will comment on the road noise which we felt wasn't intrusive, it was in the background, a pretty constant hum of motorway traffic but within our van with the radio on quietly, almost non existent.
2 little niggles for us about this site, firstly, the little pavement outside reception being taken over by planters, signage and a barrier leaving no room to create space should someone be coming out of reception.
This area felt cramped and overcrowded with unessential obstructions. Across from reception there are grass / tent pitches and creating a walkway on this side would be the perfect solution without compromising on safety or taking away any pitches.
2nd niggle, the service area near the serviced pitches wasn't lit after dark during our stay. We often do our loo later in the day and dispose of our rubbish and although with a torch, this was still possible, would have been easier and safer if the lights were on.
This area is also a cross path towards the sites main washroom facilities but too dark at night. We are happy not to have too many lights for environmental and aesthetic purposes but feel certain areas need essential lighting.
Overall, we liked the site. Perfect for stop overs or longer stays. Great for dog walks around the nearby Strathclyde Loch. The site was clean and tidy even in winter.
The planters around the site looked very tired and lacking of care but I imagine in the spring /summer months, they would be full of colour. It isn't the cheapest site on the UK network by far, a little overpriced I think here.
We paid pennies short of £140 for 4 nights on a serviced pitch.
We will be back to perhaps explore the area more or to just amble around the Loch and chill out.

Used this as a stopover on way south and must say I was extremely pleased with whole site experience. From checking in to leaving was just fantastic.
I had a fully serviced pitch, very level, loads of room, close to all facilities, just wish I could have stayed longer.
Toilet facilities 1st class, spotless and never busy. Only gripe was that I am quite tall and did have to duck a bit to get under shower but having normal taps rather than push buttons more than made up for that.
Very close to motorway so a constant hum from there but in a good location for Strathclyde Park and everything there and also travel into Glasgow.
I would certainly use this this site again for perhaps a bit longer as it was exceptional. We do normally prefer smaller, independent sites but this is someplace I would come back to time & time again it was so good.
I only paid £20 and found that excellent value for money considering some of the sites I stayed on up the West Coast charge a lot more with a lot less facilities but again location has a lot to do with that.

Very well kept site. A good site to stop over on the way to the highlands of Scotland.
Very near to the M74. Mainline trains from Glasgow run near to the site but don’t run during the night!

Nice clean little site. Plenty of water points and toilet/shower facilities.
Handy for dog walks with a small walk on site.
Easy access to supermarket even in a camper.
Couldn't be closer to M74 for onward travel north or south.

We arrived at this site for a 1 night stopover, on route to New England Bay Club Site, it was a phone cal on arrival to check in and pay, great having no Vat to pay.
The site was fairly quiet so plenty of pitches to choose from, a great level Site with large hard standing pitches.
Once on pitch, I attended at reception, wearing face covering, to receive welcome pack, and wrist bands for use at toilet block, which worked well, we managed to so our dishes, one family group at a time allowed, and managed to have a shower with no queues.
Great dog walks, with the Strathclyde loch being nearby, so a good stopover Site, wouldn't stay for longer though.
Will be back.

This was our second stay at this site. As with our previous stay, some years ago, it was a one night stopover on our way to the Highlands. The site is well located for this as just off the motorway.
The site facilities were to a good standard and clean a would be expected for a Caravan & Motorhome site.
Should we be heading this way again and in need of a stopover this will definitely be our first choice of place to stay.

Well located site just off M74 at Jn5, road hum is audible but even in a campervan with pop top, it did not distract us at all.
Spacious hardstanding pitches with quality toilet/shower facilities. Good information shed with leaflets, guides and charity book swap corner.
Winter Wardens were really friendly and helpful.
Lots to do in Lanarkshire area, especially country parks.
Short walk to M&Ds theme park with year round indoor amusement arcade/bowling/cafe, and seasonal outdoor rides (tesco voucher deals possible). Excellent 4 mile walk from site around Strathlyde Country Park loch with 3 quality playparks to keep kids amused.
Pricing is only issue with club sites, £20 a night as members for 3 of us (1 x 10yr old) in February is ok, but much more expensive in summer.

This campsite was nice, well laid out although pitches a bit close together. Main issue is the price! Over £40 per night, which is not far off a hotel room locally!
There is a play area, laundry and washing up place as well as the usual toilet and showers but nothing that justifies such a high cost. There is quite a bit of road noise, but we probably heard it more than others as we have a pop top camper (there are some amazing motor homes on site - very fancy!)
The location is good for m and d's, and just off the motorway so good for an overnight on route somewhere.

As previous reviews have said it's ideal for a stopover, literally minutes off the motorway.
We did hear the road noise but wouldn't say it was too bad.
Pitches are very big, hard-standing with a grass area. There is a separate area for tents. Loos and showers fairly new, very clean and well looked after.
We found staff to be wonderful, really friendly and knowledgeable.
We ate at the Toby on Sunday evening, despite it being really busy they found us a table in minutes. Found was fabulous, but there was a long queue for the carvery.
The site is ideal for visiting Glasgow and the surrounding area. The country park itself is worth a day out and the New Lanark Heritage village is less than 10 miles away.
We found the site expensive at £25 for club members (£40 for non members) it was half empty on one of the warmest weekends of the year.
