Probably the best site I have been to. Staff very friendly and helpful. Pitches large and level with good drainage. Take a long tv aerial cable to connect up to pitch supply as reception on van aeriel was poor. Toilet block immaculate 5 star facilities. Dish washing and laundery facilities also immaculate. Adequate dog walk area. Very central for most routes. Toby Carvery across the road was very good. Park itself has lots to offer. Traffic noise was not too bad, could not hear it in the van when the windows were closed. Would strongly recommend due to facilities and location.

This is a typical Caravan Club site regarding the nicely manicured surroundings with large hardstandings and neatly cut grass, it has immaculate toilet & shower facilities with piped music ! However the main difference from a lot of other Caravan Club sites is that this place has very friendly sensible down to earth site wardens ! what a nice change from the normal Gestapo jobs worth's that dominate Caravan Club sites ! The site itself is very well situated as its 3 minutes off the motorway and a great stop over for us English on the way to the Highlands ! Outside the site turning left will take you on a walk though lovely parkland on to a large lake and Scotlands Premier M&D's Theme park (the Alton Towers of Scotland!) Turning right takes you to a Toby Carvery that served a great roast and had real ales ! can't go wrong with this one ! (I would say the only minor gripe is that you can hear the traffic on the nearby motorway but its not overpowering) we will definitely use it again

Nice and clean site with immaculate toilets which is what you expect from a new caravan club site. The site is ideal for visiting Glasgow but if you want to stay close you have Strathclyde park and M&D theme park just a small walk away so enough to keep everyone happy. Only bad point is the road noise not to bad for me but other half was not to happy. We visited this site many years ago when it was run by the council and you would not know the it was the same place the caravan club have done an excellent job here and cannot wait to visit more of there new sites

A perfect stopover site for heading to the Highlands. We stayed for just one night. Facilities to a high standard, clean and tidy as expected for a Caravan Club site. Staff friendly and helpful.
Site also conveniently located not far from the M74 motorway so we could head off on our journey with little traffic issues. Being so close to the motorway there is inevitably some traffic noise, but for us this was only a minor inconvenience for others it might more of an issue especially if staying longer than a couple of nights.
We did not venture off the site, so cannot comment on local area and facilities.

This is an excellent CC site with well kept facilities. The wardens and relief wardens were welcoming and cheerful, always busy keeping up the high standards.
We had our toddler grandson staying and he loved the play park on site. The baby and toddler bathroom was warm and had a shower, bath, loo, sink and changing table. We had to leave a £5 deposit to use the room.
The site is right next to the country park which is a good place for walking, cycling and water sports. The geese, swans and ducks attract a lot of attention and aren't shy! There are also several play areas and a beach to entertain younger visitors. The lake is 4 miles round with free car parking.
There is a Toby Inn a few minutes walk from the caravan site and we enjoyed a very good carvery Sunday lunch.
The site is really close to the motorway system (M74) which makes the road noise so loud, and constant - 24/7. At present, and for the next 2 years at least, there a major roadworks so the traffic queues at busy times and tailbacks are long.
I could not stay on this site for a longer holiday as it is simply too noisy. However, it is a flagship CC site.

We had planned a stop at Moffat C+CC but turned up on spec and found then fully booked. We decided to head further up the M74 and hoped there would be space at Strathclyde (C&CC wardens advised its an hour and a half from Moffat to Strathclyde - took just under 40 minutes).
Arrived to be told plenty of space and were booked in quickly and given a choice of pitches. We have stayed before and found the site to be just as well kept and the facilities exceptionally clean. Wardens friendly and helpful - this is a brilliant site for a stopover and we will use again.
There is plenty to do in the area and we stayed a few days last time, this time it was perfect for an overnight as we were on Loch Lomond for a coffee stop less than an hour from leaving the site.

Spent a couple of nights here to visit Glasgow. The site is large, good size pitches with ehu and has everything you need. Reception assistant that we booked in with was a bit sharp but the others were lovely they had the basic needs and papers were on a first come first served basis. The toilet block was lovely nice shower, laundry, wash up area. The icing on the cake was the bus trip into Glasgow (loved Buchanan Street) a small mini bus picks up at reception and takes you in to town twice a day and picks you up in the late afternoon at a cost of £7. 50 worth every penny the driver was very good, pleasant and pointed out places of interest. There was a pub across the road from the entrance and the carvery was gorgeous. If you have children it is about 10 mutes walk to the fun fair.

Excellent site for an overnight stop, though we stayed for 2 nights as we were visiting friends in the area.
Found the site to be clean and tidy, showers and washing up area good. The laundry area looked excellent although we didn't need to use it. There was a very useful bus to Glasgow from the site. A reasonably priced pub for meals within a few minutes walk too. Very handy if only staying overnight and you don't want to cook. There is a small play area but this is not a site that I would say is child friendly, although the path into Strathclyde Park is at the entrance to the site and would be great for bike riding, walking and generally letting off steam.
Staff were efficient though not over chatty but then they are very busy. Some road noise, as was mentioned in previous reviews, but we didn't find it over much though it depends on your position in on the site, we were in the middle and enjoyed sitting out in the sun so the noise levels can't have been too loud. After all if you want a site handy for the motorway a little noise is to be expected. We will certainly stay there again.

We were here only for two nights so we could go to the racing at Hamilton. The site seems to have every thing you need and the pitches are a very good size. This has to be a excellent stop off for one or more days if going from south of England to Scotland. Its just off good road networks. And of course the staff are very friendly and helpful. Would book in here again.

Very convenient stop of site 2 minutes from M74 10 miles South East of Glasgow set on the edge of Strathclyde Country Park. The convenience also cause a problem with 24/7 traffic noise from this busy motorway!
The site facilities are top class Caravan Club standard and the pitches are spacious. However the site also acts as a major storage location for caravans and motorhomes that dominate 30% of one side of the site.
The Country Park is ideal spot with its central lake/lock offering a good 5k circular walk. Just the ticket, having travelled for a few hours whilst touring.
An enterprising coach company runs a mini bus service during the day into Glasgow directly from the site.
Overall convenient location, good facilities, ideal stop off point, but would not want to stay for more than one night!
