Me and my wife Jackie arrived at the trelay to a very friendly welcome from the owner and her husband. They have a great dog called buster. He has wool instead of fur. The site we were given for our tent was perfect flat, with wonderful view. Water tap next to tent which was handy. The showers were spotless and the water constantly hot. The best shower complex we have visited. Although only two showers they always seemed to be available. Although there is no site shop there is a spar a mile down the road well stocked and open late. Access to freezer for freezer blocks 24 hours. The local pub the jubilee Inn is fantastic with charlie Carol and kevin great hosts. The tribute beer is the best I have ever tasted. Spot on. With looe and polpero 3 miles away only a five minute drive although parking is expensive. Roughly £5 per day. Polpero is a dream especially in the sun. Nice little beach however, tide does come in. Looe beach superb in a lovely little town. Avoid the the swan pub beer yuk. Trelay is a great place to stay and we are already arranging our next camping holiday to include a 5 day stay here. Highly recommended.

Thanks to 'The Sun' we had three nights at Trelay campsite.
Three nights for three pounds, a bargain in anyone's money, and the park lived up to this to!
Easy to find, well laid out with clean tidy facilities. Plenty of pitches with generous space, and the option of electric hook up for all.
As has been said the lady owner is so friendly, and nothing was to much trouble, never did she great us without a big smile and a hello.
This is a great base for discovering Looe and the surrounding area's, we chose Fowey and polruan, a must if you like boats and great views.
It would be really harsh to say anything bad at all about Trelay, its a cracking friendly small campsite.
Final three plus's the local pub is great for pub grub, the spar shop really is like the tardis and caters for everything and finally the local fish and chip van is a must!
Try Trelay you won't be disappointed.

Spent 6 days at this site and we can honestly say it is the best site we've been to so far, we can't fault it. The pitches were a good size and well marked out and there are plenty of water points.
Grounds, toilets/showers, (we personally didn't have a problem with the showers, lovely and hot and free) washing up facilities were excellent and spotlessly clean. Very reasonably priced and the site management Carol and Keith were great.
The site is in good position in a beautiful part of the country. Highly Recommend!

Just spent an enjoyable overnight stay at this site using the Sun's promotional £1. 00 voucher scheme.
Upgraded to electric H/U total cost £4. 00.
Excellent value for money!
Carol the proprietor could not be nicer and is obviously passionate about the site.
Shower/toilet facilities excellent!
Site layout excellent!
Customer service beyond comparison!
Only drawback being local bus service which is not brilliant if you are reliant upon it i.e can't go into Looe or Polperro after 5pm ish as no returning bus.
Overall a thoroughly enjoyable experience and we will use again.

Spent 3 nights here with our 2 small children. Mainly a site for privately owned static vans, this is also (I would say) a very popular site for long term stays (especially touring caravans) and people come back here year after year. You really cannot fault this small park for smartness, cleanliness and upkeep. The toilets, showers and washing up room were spotless. Free hot water and access to a freezer for ice packs was fantastic.
The lady who runs the park has to be one of the nicest people I have met in my life. She really is lovely. As we were in a camper-van we were offered a choice of either a grass or hand standing pitch, which was nice. The pitches are generous in size, most have hook up and there is 1 water tap to probably every 3 pitches.
The play area for the children is great, again well maintained.
There is a burger/chip van on site most evenings and mornings for breakfast, we had some chips on our first night. Very welcome and freshly cooked.
10 minute walk down the main road to the local village - Spar shop is amazing! Proper tardis and sells virtually everything! The closest pub apparently does food, was empty when we went in but every table had a reserved sign on it so I guess it is advisable to book.
Overall this site works brilliantly as a base for exploring the local area. Is relatively quiet too but we did hear quite a few televisions from the surrounding 'vans.

We stayed at Trelay from late August until the 1st of September 2011. There is not much to add as most has been said already.
On the plus side
Carol is lovely and helpful and made us feel welcome.
I liked it there, it had a good feel about the place, very clean, tidy, reasonably priced food hut. Fairly priced pitching, great sunsets, a quiet place to stay. Free use of showers and fridges etc also very good.
Negatives were
It was a bit out the way from everything, roughly 3 miles to Looe, the shower head sprayed everywhere which was annoying and there was not much to do there as it seemed.
Places worth a visit.
Looe is a must, it is a pretty picturesque fishing town with a small nice beach. The shops are open late and after a certain time the river is all lit up.
Parking on the main harbour car park is expensive, so try and use the free hour parking across the road from the filling station. If not the massive car park along the river is cheaper and free to park after 6pm. You can park on the road up the hill and it is roughly 1 mile away but in parts there are no foot paths.
Also coming from the campsite just before the bridge there is a sign post taking you to the east side of Looe, it takes you along the coast a bit still in view of main Looe, it's free to park and you can take a small coastal walk to a secret beach with patches of sand and rocks.
If you are really lucky when the tides out you can walk across to a little Island with its own sandy beach.
Porperro, Mevagissey and Fowey are all nice to visit but be careful, parking is on the expensive side and driving around is hard.
I found Boswinger Beach to be pretty and I suppose Par and Talland Bay beach are ok too.
Overall I will give this campsite, pushing 8 out of 10, if it was more closer to Loee and perhaps had a pool it would get a 10.

We have just returned from the best 12 days camping in Cornwall! Carol greeted us cheerily on arrival and she and her husband and Owen their Grandson couldn't have been more helpful/friendly.
We camped in the long thin field, which was peaceful and immaculately maintained at all times.
The whole site is perfectly clean, at all times we found, and the ease of putting ice paks in the freezer yourself at any time / day / night was excellent. The shower/toilet block spacious and excellent / plentiful hot water 24/7. Same goes for wash-up, just fantastic!
Located in a peaceful lane, but an excellent base to get anywhere, we walked across the fields / via Watergate down into Looe, then on across the South West Coastal Path to Talland Bay and into Polperro, all in all a circular walk taking 7hrs (with stops) and 15miles - just awesome, on the very hot day that was Mon 4th July!
Just a short 10min walk away takes you to Pelynt village to a Spar shop and The Jubilee Inn, excellent pub and food. We visited Charlestown - beautiful harbour - what a gem!
Polkerris, Fowey and Polruan are within easy reach too, not forgetting Looe itself and the peaceful location of sitting up at Hannafore Point!
All in all we've had a fab time away and we'll be back, and very soon too! Can't recommend this lovely site highly enough!

My wife and I are trying to emulate the BBC programme by driving our motorhome round the UK coastline. We have discovered many new sites on this venture and we were most impressed with Trelay Farm Park.
The manager greeted us and directed us to a firm, grass pitch next to the toilet block which was immaculate and fully functioning.
The touring pitches are either on a large grassed area which has statics around the edges or on a separate field with hardstandings. There are hookups for each pitch. There is a children's play area which is well aside from the pitches.
There was only one other tourer in residence so we were able to appreciate the best features during our one night stay.
A walk to the local pub takes about half an hour each way. The site is pleasantly remote, so no shops nearby. Having said that - campers would want to drive into nearby Looe where there are plenty to choose from.
We can appreciate that the site gets very busy later on in the season, but if you can visit in March/April we would rate it in our 'top twenty' so far!

We recently spent 6 days at Trelay. The whole site was always smart and tidy, the shower and toilet block was always spotless at all times.
We only met Carol the lady in charge once but she was very friendly as were the men who constantly tidy the site and keep the grass pristine.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this lovely quiet and friendly site to others who enjoy peace and quiet when they are away from home.
If you are National Trust members there are several properties reasonably close by.

Just returned home after a three night stay at Trelay. A brilliant site. Clean++++, well managed, very well maintained, toilet/shower facilities were immaculate. We will certainly visit again.
One note of caution however, (nothing to do with this excellent site) road signs indicate the site is 3.5 miles to Polperro. We set of for a 3.5 mile stroll to Polperro. But it's actually around 6 miles, which made our 'stroll' more of a route march!.
