Lakeside Park was a lovely surprise, the pitches were spacious and very well kept. We were situated in a bay near to the facilities which had a small covered picnic area in the middle for general use. The facilities were excellent, especially the disposal area for the toilet waste, best I have seen. The park was so attractive with sculptures of animals and lights, also lots of different play areas for children. As we were not there at the weekend we did not use the club facilities, but were assured by our neighbours that they had been and were impressed. There is a fishing lake, golf, bowls and swimming pool, something for everyone. Lakeside is only 10 miles from Louth and Mablethorpe and 15 from Cleethorpes, so ideal for a run out.

Just could not fault this site in anyway and we will definitely be returning.

Lakeside, pool, not good, fishing, not good, entertainment, not good, pitches, not good, toilets and showers, not good, THEY ARE ALL FANTASTIC! This must be the best kept site I have ever stayed, staff were very helpful and friendly, just a great site, well worth a visit, reserve me a pitch for next year please, mosquito's were biting a bit though!

Hi visited here twice this year, very nice site, hard to find. Not much to do as it's away in countryside. The site itself is very good we'll kept clean. But swimming quite expensive for what you already pay to stay here. 2bikes stolen whilst we stayed here. Very friendly staff. Only things I would bring to everyone's attention is the cutting of grass. It is not collected, as tractors have no collection buckets on them. This leaves cutt grass, so when damp with dew or rain, it causes havoc carrying into motorhome. Last visit quite warm so had shorts on, god I had and still have over 20 mosquito bites. Brother in law worse than me. So prob will not return, cos if it's nice you will get bitten. They where every where. Everybody moaning about them.

The site was fairly full for the time of year but still seemed quiet and peaceful. Facilities are good, swimming pool lovely and the staff all very polite.

However, we left early despite having paid up to friday as the mozzies where just too much. Its very much an individual thing as my partner had no bites at all but the 35 that I had where just too many. I wish I had known upfront just how bad they where, hence the review. Make your own decision. If mozzies don't bother you then its definitely worth a visit but if they do then be aware they are not in 1s and 2s.

We have just returned after a week break. First the negative. There were a lot of mozzies. Now the positives. The site is brilliant. The staff are very relaxed and customer focussed. The toilets are cleaned regularly and abundant. The golf course is ideal for novices. The indoor pool is clean and big enough. The bar restaurant has a good range of beers and the food has a home cooked feel not Wetherspoons specials. The wood trail is good for those with dogs or those without. If you want a holiday to relax with enough to do for the kids then book NOW. I will be going back and so will family and friends

This was our second visit - we spent a week here at Easter 2014 and enjoyed it so much we booked to come again.

On arrival the site is well kept, pants shrubs and well kept tiday areas.

There is a good swimming pool -although I feel a little pricey and a weekly ticket cannot be purchased.

There are 3 bars with evening entertainment- they are all nice and well furbished and not in any way tacky.

We only dined once on site but found the food to be of good quality and value.

There are two toilet blocks both of which were clean etc. One or two missing hooks on back of doors but only a small complaint.

One gripe is that there is only one pot washing area which consists of two sinks in an L shape configuration. Totally inadequate for the number of pitches.

The pitches are of a good size and well laid out. All are hardstanding and serviced. We were located away from the main field and we seemed to be less penned in.

Several play areas dotted around the site along with a fishing lake.

Arrival is after 3. 00 pm and departure before 3. 00 pm which should give plenty of time to pack up etc.

Unfortunately on our last visit we had someone who was allowed on to site before this at 2. 00 pm and very rudely sat with his car 2 feet behind our own caravan with his engine running.

Needless to say I suddenly found I had very little energy to pack up quickly and mysteriously had to slow down and put the kettle on!

The whole thing was intimidating- if other users are allowed on before 3. 00 then there should be a holding area, alternatively the site should refuse entry.

All in all a great site which I will be returning to.

Third time back to this site and it wont be the last. From the moment you arrive it just seems that bit more special with all the waterfalls flowers and sculptures. Big pitches that are easy to drive onto which are all fully serviced. Great parks for the kids and a lovely walk around the lake. Entertainment is good (thankfully not a trashy complex like some haven type sites) it all seems very 5 star. Pool is good but it will cost you a tenner for an adult and 2 kids. Arcade as per previous reviews could do with a few more machines that worked!. We found the shop owners very nice as were the staff in reception. Excelent beaches can be found approx 8 miles down the road at mablethorpe(park near golden sands in the seal sanctuary car park its only £2 for the day and they have land trains going back and forth into mablethorpe centre). A few takeaways and a couple of pubs in north summercoats but not much else. Cleethorpes is a nice seaside place to visit with a large fair and a jungle zoo, boating lake etc. Getting back to the caravan site my only concern as with other reviews is the toilet block does not seem to the same standard as our last visits. The disabled shower is a walk in type but when used it drains into the walkway outside creating a swimming pool! and the showers/ toilets don't seem to be cleaned as often. Mabee it was just because it was main holiday time. This is just a minor gripe and does not make the toilets unusable but they are not getting better. Overall a fantastically looked after site in a great location

This is a really lovely site. We are a family of five and felt very safe here, I even allowed the children to run a little feral! Its a clean, friendly site (with the exception of a grumpy lady in the supermarket!) and a good base to explore Mablethorpe or Sutton on Sea. There's a beach nearby called Donna Nook but be warned its a military (RAF) firing range so not really the bucket and spade beach we were hoping for. The village is nice with a few shops, pizza place, fish & chips etc. You'll need a £10 deposit for the entrance swipe card which you get back on leaving and being able to leave at 3pm was really helpful. We had some very noisy neighbours but it was a great break apart from that. Hopefully we will be back soon!

Not a site I would return to. Glad we hadn't paid full cost as it was part of a sales package, however can see why now?

The toilet block was less than clean. Dirt in the shower - not immediately visible to the cleaner remained for our entire visit (week) as did the leaves in the space between the two doors. As it was summer they had probably been there some time! The mess was not just the cleaners fault, visitors left the showers in an awful state. Part of the problem was children of all ages were allowed to use them without adult supervision and clearly had no concept of mopping out as did many of the adults! Despite the visit of the owner, the cleanliness did not improve!

Children ran wild, notices such as 'no cycles/scooters' no ball games' were all completely ignored. Most touring caravan owners found the need to erect huge barriers made up of 3 or even 4 windbreaks to create further space around 'their' pitch!

The charges were expensive especially as an additional charge of £4 was made for using the swimming pool and an extra charge for electricity. The latter was well used by some touring caravans - when at least two outfits we saw were using twin adaptors in the electricity unit and running 3 bar halogen heaters all night in their awning, despite it being one of the hottest weeks of the year!

Wi-Fi free but only in a very small area near the bar, where the children used their scooters etc. (as above) despite the signs! If you wanted to use Wi-Fi room - you had to go and get a key from reception, pay a £10 deposit and then take it back!

Location - for motorhome owners it is rather remote and not much to do, if you didn't want to use the unit. Main road running alongside the site and near our pitch made it very noisy in the morning and woke us up early whether we wanted to or not! However plus point - useful shop up in the village for general provisions etc.

When we left - no one seemed bothered about our experience and no facility to leave feedback? We have been caravanning for many years and this was a very disappointing experience. If we had paid full cost, we would definitely have be asking for a refund!

We stayed here the second week of the Easter holidays, on pitch 110. My parents then used the van for a further week and we re-joined them for the final weekend. So, between us, we saw during both busy peak and very quiet off peak period.

It was our first time staying here and wouldn't be the usual type of site we'd go for. We normally prefer quieter, smaller sites, with just a (clean) shower block and maybe a shop. However, due to storing our caravan in a Don Amott storage facility, we get a voucher to stay on the site paying just for EHU, so it seemed hard to refuse.

Overall, this site could/should be a five star site, worthy of a fantastic review, but sadly it just lets itself down. A five star site should be as perfect as possible and, with some thought from the Don Amott team, they really could achieve this. My OH, and my mum who stayed the week after us, both said the shower block could have done with a better clean - a point also raised by 795E in their review. I myself was disappointed with the gents showers - many of the hooks behind the door were missing - leaving you with just one hook for your clothes and towels. This is such an easy fix, for little cost, which would make showering just that little bit nicer. Also, one of the push buttons literally lasted for just four seconds. Madness.

The arcade, I counted I think six or seven machines with out of order notices on them. Now my point here is that you can see this was the case last year, as other reviews on here state so. This just makes the arcade look shoddy, and not cared for. Why not move these broken machines out of the arcade if they can't afford, or don't want to fix them? Granted, this will make the arcade seem empty, but why not replace them with something like a free to use table tennis table. That way, the arcade doesn't look uncared for, and you are providing something for the customers FOC. Just a little care and thought can make the difference.

Don't get me wrong, it's not all negative. It's still a great site, and we will return next year. Although, only because we get a voucher, we wouldn't pay full price. The pitches are well spaced, flat, easy to drive the van straight on to, have bags of room for van, awning and the car, and are fully serviced. The swimming pool, (including sauna and steam room), although costly, was used by our family several times.

The bar complex serves good food - possibly the best Sunday lunch I've had for a long time - loads of meat, and nicely cooked vege - can't fault the food. Loads for the kids to do - play parks everywhere, tennis courts, football pitches. Fishing pool was busy all the time we were there. I jog - the park is plenty big enough to easily clock up a 5K run with a few laps of the dog walking path.

Locally, there's not a lot to do without getting in the car and travelling a while. I much prefer Wales or the South West as a destination, but there are places locally worth a day out. Appleby's ice cream place just down the road worth a visit. The local chinese takeaway was reasonable - nothing special, but edible.

It's a massive site, with lots of statics and seasonal tourers. Nicely laid out, but just needs some TLC to make it a really nice site.

Finally, just a little note about the weather. The touring field is really open, and as on the coast, very exposed to wind. Several awnings were damaged during one particularly bad storm, and I would recommend strong pegs and also tie down kit if you intend to use the awning early/late in the season. I myself won't be taking the awning here next year, as it is a very windy part of the country, and saw first hand how bad things can get.
