We visited over Royal Wedding weekend, Nice site, clean and tidy.
Shop, Arcade, child's park, swimming pool, bowling outdoor, small gym, two clubs and restaurant.
£10 deposit for toilet block key.
Didn't mind paying for kids to swim as they got as long as they wanted.(Adult £4. Child £3)
Went to the club Friday night but didn't stay long. I ordered a Stella and it was awful, so decided to go for a Carling next it too wasn't very nice. I still had the previous drink on table so tried again and they both tasted exactly the same!
Showers and toilet block was good, only grumble I had with it was that the water didn't drain away very quickly in the shower so you ended up paddling.
Despite little moans I would go back there again, would be nice if they took note of the comments and put things right though!

Quite an expensive site but excellent facilities.
Very clean toilet and shower block. Decently spaced pitches. Decent sized shop with cafe and good food all quite reasonably priced.Several play areas which were all enjoyed by lots of children.
Entertainment is average but the site is an absolutely stunning site with lake and picturesque surround. Definitely a place for the family to take all their bikes. Have been twice before and would happily go again.

This is more of a holiday park than a campsite. It was not my cup of tea for a number of reasons, for example, needing a key to get into the toilets, paying an extra £4 to use the pool after paying £25.50 for one night in a small VW camper. The beer in the pub was awful and everywhere you look there are signs telling you what you can't do. There seemed to be more tarmac, concrete and fencing than grass. I'm sure some people like this sort of thing but if you like camping, give this place a miss.

Had a lovely weekend away here. Weather was very hot so made it more relaxing. This site is only 30 minutes from our home but we use it to clean the caravan, it's is one of the dearer ones but as a treat it's nice
I just wish the swimming was a little cheaper as it is a bit expensive so we tend to not go swimming. We love the walk this site has and it is very peaceful I also like the fact the reception is open later on a Friday

On arrival we was greeted by the most helpful people I have ever come in contact with, these reception people are great / first class.
The site is first class, we stayed just for the weekend but we will be back.
The shower block is very good indeed, the only point I would say is missing, is when you are in the shower behind the curtain there is nowhere to put soap or shampoo, little shelves would be great.
Entertainment on the Saturday night 15/05/2010 was first class, male singer he was great, there is also bingo if you play.
We had a carvery on Friday evening cost £5 this was very good indeed.
Swimming pool, supermarket etc all super.

Spacious, well-kept family site with good facilities. Deep in the countryside, so may be a little remote for some. Nice first impression on arrival. Friendly atmosphere.
Great for kids (ducks to feed, loads of space to cycle around, half a dozen playgrounds on the site!). Popular at weekends, but went quiet around 8-9pm. Touring pitches exposed to wind & next to main road, but road noise not too intrusive.
Heated swimming pool lovely - £4 per adult, under 5's free. Heard very poor reviews of bar food (particularly the lasagne!), but didn't try it ourselves. Showers & loos immaculate with piped music (nice touch). Decent Freeview signal.
Nearest shop for extra supplies is small Costcutter in North Somercotes village 0.5 miles away. Good Chinese takeaway in village as well. Recommended.

We visited this site for the weekend and it is fantastic! Upon arriving the reception staff are very helpful beware that you do need a £10 deposit for the gate pass and toilet key. You only get one key for the toilets and for a family of four this can cause some issues.
The site fees are a little on the steep side but the facilities are very good.
The toilets are very clean and have all that you require. The pitches are very spacious and more room than you would expect.
We had a meal on Saturday night in the family room. It was average priced but the food was very nice and we all had plenty.
The whole site is very well maintained with everything spotlessly clean.
The fishing is okay, but you do need to be there early to get a peg.
The only downside to this site is paying for the use of the swimming pool. I do feel when I had paid £50 for the two nights to then pay an extra £4 per adult and £3 per child was too much.

Just got back from a 2 week holiday at this campsite, what can I say except fantastic, loads on site for the kids to do,swimming pool brilliant you have to pay for this but its only 4 pound adults 3 pound kids but its great having to pay means the pool is never full, fantastic parks for the kids, This was our first time on a super pitch it spoiled us no arguing over who was fetching water or emptying, the toilet even got emptied at the side of van fantastic. My son was in his glory fishing when he wanted, loads to do out and about fantastic beaches even the dog could go on the ones we found, staff were really friendly could not help enough, security driving round all night felt really safe. Only gripe we have is with the toilets they were cleanish but later on in the day not so clean need a mop to dry the floor only camp we have ever been to where music is playing all day and night in the toilets also you only get one key for the toilets which means you do some dancing if someone has taken the key and you need to go. But all in all a fantastic camp and we are definitely booking to go again cannot wait

This was only our second touring caravan holiday. First impressions of the site were excellent it is very well maintained and the grounds are beautiful. It is mainly a site for statics but the touring field is generally well set out, spacious pitches and with multiservice pitches also. As others have said can be windy.
We had specifically asked for a quiet pitch, but our first night (we arrived 8'ish) we found ourselves next to the multisports pitch - great for kids, but the constant banging of the ball against the railings not so great for those who want it quiet and we were also looking out onto the rubbish bins! We moved the next day without problem. The facilities on the site are generally very good but for us odd things let it down, everything required a deposit and you only got one key - even for the toilets/shower block which can be restrictive, it's extra for the swimming and whilst fishing is free there is no bait available on site. Bar, club and amusements were OK but these were only open over the weekend and closed mid-week when we were there. Given the pitch rates are higher than general I would expect all the facilities to be included and available or at least a lower rate offered for when they are not. We moved on earlier than we had planned. I agree with another reviewer I went over to have a shower later in the day but they did not look very clean to me so I decided to use our own facilities. Staff are efficient, however, for us there was a lack of friendliness and welcome.
We found the food at the pub down the road much better quality (out of the site and turn left - pub on right hand site, there is also another on the left hand side but we didn't try that). Shop on site is well stocked and also with a cafe area and here the staff were more friendly. The facilities on site for children seemed very good - lots of play areas and facilities.

What a beautiful site. It is so clean and so well kept. There is everything you need on site, football pitch, tennis courts, bowling green, amusement arcade, shop, pub, club, swimming pool and laundrette.
The pitches were well laid out and on the serviced pitches you have your own waste and sewage disposal.
The only problem is the wind because it is so open it is very windy and there is no shelter. Previous reviews warned of this and therefore, we had taken extra support poles with us to deal with this.
The only other problem is that the nearest supermarket is 17 miles away, there are plenty of smaller shops near the camp but if you want a decent shop its quite a drive.
We loved it and will definitely be going back.
