Having just visited this site for bank holiday weekend and all I can say is fantastic. The site is quiet, clean and the entertainment / family room is super, lovely cabaret, food good and auntie lisa does a marvellous job of entertaining the kids. Yes the swimming pool you have to pay for £4.O0 adult £3.O0 children but its worth it. The super pitches are spacious and not squashed in. Visited the inn pub which did lovely food just down the road as well. Will definitely return.

A wonderful place, with a large fishing lake, and some lovely landscaping. The site is mainly geared for statics, but the camp site area is large, flat and quiet. The pitches are spacious, with block paved hard standing. The super pitches have their own taps, waste and sewage. Lovely facilities, great for families - our two children loved the swimming pool, the substantial play areas and the family room, where we had good food, and the children enjoyed the entertainment. Simple, wholesome stuff - dancing, musical chairs, led by a gentle smiley 'Auntie Lisa'.
I agree that the shower block could easily be improved by adding more hooks and better ones, leaving out a couple of mop and buckets and removing the need for a key - its awkward having one key per family.
Will definitely be coming again, but will avoid Bank Holidays - its too expensive.

We had only just bought our new folding camper after having a tent for a couple of years, so naturally wanted to try it out. Unfortunately, this coincided with a Bank Holiday weekend, so we had great difficulty finding a camp site with any pitches available. On approximately our 50th phone call, we found this site had availability, but at £105 for 3 nights, it was a bit steep. The site is very nice, well set out and very pretty. There was live entertainment in the bars, but we don't bother with that. We didn't go swimming in the pool as for a family of five, it would have cost another £20 or so! The kids enjoyed the adventure playground and the basketball / football courts that were on site. On my first visit to the "facilities" I thought they were very nice and clean. However, when I returned later for a shower, I found that there was nothing available to clean the shower after yourself and the floors were absolutely swimming in other people's water! I had to be extremely careful where I walked and had to make sure all my clean clothes were hung up on the single hook securely, along with my towel. There was a decent shop on site and a takeaway that we didn't use. There was also an amusements place, but again, we aren't interested in that. All in all, we had an enjoyable holiday, but the price was steep, even for a bank holiday.

After reading reviews chose this site for 4 days over Easter - not disappointed! Superb site. Flat, clean, spacious, load of things for kids to do - mine 12 and 3 yr old twins. Pool expensive but worth it for the cleanliness. Dogs allowed but no fouling anywhere. Quiet at night-time. Fabulous Sunday Carvery. Can't really say a bad word about it. Only tiny gripe was the slow service in the take-away and shop cafe - but it was the start of the season so we made allowances for new staff. Would definitely return if only to see the beautiful landscaping on arrival! 10 out of 10

Just got back from this park after our very first camping trip, we found it was very clean, the shower blocks / toilets were cleaned at regular intervals. We had a super pitch where we had water and waste facilities on our pitch, so no having to carry water a great distance. The swimming pool was great for the kids but was a little expensive and there was no famly ticket discount. On the whole a great campsite, the only thing that I could find wrong with this site was the evening entertainment, I dont know if it was because its near the end of the season but it was very poor. The price of drinks in the bar were fairly priced, childrens drinks for as little as 45p. Looking forward to next season will go back again to this site.

Very impressed with the touring park. Toilets and showers clean and staff could not be more helpful . The only downside was we could not take our dog there, they only allow a limited number of pitches with dogs? Nice shop really well stocked, nice club and the kids loved the pool. Lots to do including tennis, bowls, golf and fishing. There is what looks a nice dog walk lol. Cannot wait to go again.

Visited this site during the Easter period and we were highly impressed with the cleanliness of the site and the pool / sauna area. It should be noted that this is an extra £3.00 per person but during our visit there was no time limit in force. A shop provides all the necessities and more including a snack bar. Our main concern was at £33 a night for bank holiday weekends Mr Amott was making a huge amount of profit on his touring field. We would advise checking the tarrif very carefully before booking.

July 2005 We enjoyed out stay here.
Positives :
Lots of stuff for kids to do. There are 2 large play areas. There is a family bar that have entertainment 7-9 for the kids (and smoking is banned for the duration).
The pitches are of a reasonable size though the site was quiet and we more or less had choice of pitch.
Negatives :
Cost! £20 a night for a grass pitch (inc hookup) or £23 for a super pitch.
Its pricey but you do get the childrens entertainment.
We will go back

16 April 2004 Great site with friendly, welcoming and helpful staff.
This is a very welcoming and beautifully laid out site with flowers, lawns and fishing lakes. There is also a tennis court, bowling green, playgrounds, indoor pool with jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, chip shop, shop, cafe, restaurant, amusement arcade, plus bar and family room with evening entertainment.
The pool is in a lovely conservatory type surrounding. Like the rest of the site the changing area and poolside was spotless. Note that it is charged extra at £3/adult, £2/under 18's and children 3 and under free. So for our family it cost £10 which seems a lot but we were in for well over an hour and I spent £10 on the beach at Cleethorpes on donkeys/bouncy castle/bouncy slide all within the space of 20 minutes!
We had a hardstanding superpitch (although as I understand all hardstandings are superpitches but you can have grass pitch with electric only). Pitch fees include for up to and including 5 people each extra person is £5 a night. Also NO TENTS.
The toilets/showers were clean and adequate with powerpoints for hairdriers. However remember to take your own soap!
I was very impressed with this site and doubtless we will return in the future.

October 2003 Friends of ours have a static here, and recommended we try our new 'van for the first time at this site. From picking up the 'phone to book, to leaving the site to go home, the staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. Even to the point of having the groundsman bring me a hammer when I found that I’d left my mallet at home! The entrance to the site is well manicured with a fantastic water feature, and everything at first glance is spotless! The reception area is large, with the same friendly staff, loads of info leaflets on the surrounding area etc. The touring field is set apart from the static caravans that surround the large well-stocked fishing lake that the park takes its name from. (Next time, I’m going to take the rods….) The pitches seemed large enough, and there’s plenty of space to stretch out and relax! The best time for me was playing footie with my youngest, just outside the 'van. Pitches are big (we had a super pitch though). Facilities appeared to be very clean, although the toilet blocks were locked fairly early in the evening for some reason! It’s a fair walk from the touring section down to where the action is, but that’s no big deal, as it’s probably far quieter later in the evening when the pubs empty! The surrounding woodlands are great to walk through, kids were happy picking up the odd fir cone!
All the facilities are centred on the large amenities complex with a great view over the lake. There are 2 or 3 bars to choose from, all within staggering distance! This complex holds the shop, laundrette, swimming pool etc. The shop’s well stocked, maybe a little pricey, and it incorporates a cheap-ish café for your breakfasts and snacks if you’re too tired to cook, after all the walking, swimming, tennis, golf etc that the site offers. I didn’t try the golf myself, but I had a wander over, as it’s just off the touring field, and it looked ok for a knock next time! The swimming pool’s a reasonable size, and manned by a qualified lifeguard.
The 'entertainment' was good, though geared more towards the adults. The wife and I aren't all that keen on this sort of 'club' really, but we did actually enjoy it! The kids found the amusement arcade more to their tastes! All in all, a good site to visit, and kept the kids occupied. Plenty to do on site, with plenty more in nearby Louth, or Mablethorpe! We’ll be going back at some point soon!
