A convenient site, just off the main A68, with a large area for tents, away from the motorhome/caravan area. Facilities, like many C&CC sites, older but clean and well maintained.
Unfortunately, I had rather forgotten about the regimented nature of these sites. "The corner of your tent needs to be lined up with the marker. You'll have to move it" - about two feet in fact. I wouldn't have minded so much if there had been tents in the pitches next to mine.
Oh, great food in the hotel next door!

This is small but perfectly formed campsite, next to a pretty little stream. The toilet block building is a bit tired, but the facilities inside are clean, tidy and warm. There is a small selection of books and DVDs to borrow in the laundry room. Nearby Lauder is a smart town and we cycled from there down to Melrose which is lovely too. The A68 is a busy road, but there are alternative routes to cycle on.

Used as a 2 night stopover returning from the Highlands over the Easter school hols with daughter and dog. Excellent clean and warm shower facilities. Good information available. No phone signal and wi-fi expensive. We prefer not to use the camper once set up but there didn't appear to be too much choice regarding walks from the door. Staff friendly and helpful. Very quiet while we were there. Small dog walking area by brook. Didn't use local pub (which I don't think is dog friendly).

A very nice site, easy access, nice location for touring the area, and friendly staff. The toilet block was always fresh clean and tidy, also heated. The pitches were nicely set out easy pegging on the grass, choice of sunny or shaded pitches. TV reception was non existent in the lower part of the site nr the trees, but better in the more open areas.
We had a look at the nearby Jedburgh site and much preferred this location and site layout. We would certainly return and recommend this site, Our party was two adults and a old dog in a caravan.

Well maintained site with dated but very clean toilet block. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Help yourself to herbs, yes herbs, and lots of local wildlife info available. Lovely location with a stream and pleasant dog walk bordering the site. Quiet site handy for Edinburgh. Not much for young children but easy hill walking access.

Just back from a lovely weekend break at this site. Helen and Brian could not do enough for us. The site is a little gem, being very quite and in a lovely location. It is close to the town of Lauder and also there is a cracking pub which is a short walk away and does very good food.
I would recommend this site.

Our first visit to a Camping and Caravanning Club Site. Lovely and quiet. A lovely little brook at one side of the campsite where our dog could walk. Great facilities, to be expected at a club site, and well kept. Fees in low season very reasonable.
We stayed just one night on our way back north, but can recommend it as a stopover or for a longer stay.

Stayed two nights here and this proved to be an excellent site for visiting Edinburgh during the festival season as it's in a quiet, rural spot but only 20 or so miles, (maybe a 3/4 hour drive) from the city. Everything was clean and well organised. A pretty stream goes through the grounds. Nice quiet site.

We have just had a 2 night stop at this site, we have used this site before, but this was several years ago. The toilet block was the usual c. C. C standard. The wardens were very welcoming and friendly, this site has only got a pub within walking distance (we did not use ). They do meals, it also holds wedding receptions in a marquee next to the pub. You don't hear the noise on the site. The site is very quiet and peaceful for a break from the rat race. The only criticism is the road on the site could do with resurfacing. A good site to use for a stop on a long haul from or to Scotland.

Very good site Toilets and showers very clean. We stayed for 2 nights on our way to Scotland. Unfortunately it rained a fair bit whilst we were there. The Carfraemill hotel which is just up the road from the site do very good meals. We will certainly stay there again when we are on our way to Scotland.
