Stayed here twice. Lovely little site! Kids enjoyed the park, woods and the table tennis room! Plenty of room for the children to play. Facilities a bit dated but ok and they worked well. Slight smell of sulphur in the caravan field on several occasions.
Would recommend the site but drainage on our pitch after bad weather was not great and was really muddy!

Well what a wonderful little site! Just got back from a two night stay with my partner and 2 boys aged 9 and 6.
The showers and toilet facilities were excellent as was the washing up room, which also had a freezer to re freeze your ice blocks etc.
There were plenty of plugs in that room too, if you wanted to use a hairdryer or straighteners etc!
Electric hook up also available. There was plenty for kids here with treehouses, climbing area with swings etc,
Woods were right next door for exploring and even had its own football field and table tennis room which could be used for shelter if it rained heavily.

Visited Haywood for the rainy jubilee weekend and we had a great time. We set up by the tree houses and the kids were off. Not once did we hear 'I'm bored'. We had a forest on our door step so the kids went off to collect wood for the fire later.
The shower blocks had 2 showers plus a disabled which we were advised to use if busy but we didn't have to queue at all! Toilets were clean and always stocked.
Washing up area was under cover and even had draining boards which impressed me ( those little extra touches help )
The table tennis room came in handy when it rained as we took shelter in there. The cleaner/ helper was a lovely polite helpful man
We drove to Ross on Wye and Hereford and loved them both now I want to go back to do more shopping !
I would def return to this small site and for £15 a tent it was cheap and had most things we wanted ( a club house would be nice but we survived without )

AAA***
Lovely site, new and old playground with all a child could want. Even indoor table tennis.
Grounds well maintained, covered barn area which came in handy as only have a small tent so went and cooked under there when it was raining.
Toilets and showers were modern, clean and quite spacious, and always hot.
Very reasonably priced.
Google directions were a little off but staff very helpful and gave competent directions when I got lost.
Would definitely visit this site again and again.
Newent is very nearby for shops and takeaways but we didn't try out any local food as only stayed two nights.
Good supply of leaflets and things of local attractions, perrygrove railways was a real hit with my four year old son.
Very lovely place and people and would highly recommend it.

This is a beautiful little site, grounds kept very well, we were on the botton field where everyone had there own space.
The kids were kept occupied, the little one with the brand new park, and the older two kids trying to beat me at table tennis, and plenty of room on the football pitch for a kick about.
Site owners friendly and left us to our own devices, situated about 10 mins from supermarkets thou there's a local post office which seems to have everything.
very good value for money and will definitely be returning.

Nicely laid out site-very quiet. Toilet facilities were very clean and modern but not sufficient for the size of the site. Table tennis table in area where you walked through to toilets-a bit squashed-not ideal.
Owner took our (very reasonable) fifteen pounds and we did not see him again. He did not give any local information to us as you often get when you arrive at a site.
Had very nice fish and chips in Newent.
Nice football pitch, lots of room to spread about without feeling you are organised into rows. Nice site but could be even better with a bit more 'hands on' from the owners.

My husband and I with our two children, visited this site in July and all I can say is what a wonderful place. The facilities were clean and exactly as described and extremely good value for money.
The showers were always hot, which I have sometimes found hard to achieve at other sites.
This site is in beautiful quite setting, yet close enough to shops, pubs and local attractions to not feel too remote. Easy route to places like Ross-on-Wye and Symonds Yat.
We were made to feel very welcome by the owners and nothing was too much trouble.
The children were able to play in a safe and secure area with plenty to keep them busy. Exploring the woods, play area and football field, which was also venue for a big game of rounders.
Already booked to go back again in September.

We stopped on this site over the may bank holiday and had a great time.
We were on the top field, which was great for the kids as we were right by the park. The nearby woods were great for walking the dogs in.
The owners of the site were not the most talkative, but were friendly enough and never bothered us.
The shower block was clean and the showers were good, there was only 1 toilet in the mens so wouldn't like to use at peak times.
There was plenty for the kids to do, table tennis, football, park and plenty of space to play.
Ross on Wye was about 10 mins away by car and there was a pub not too far away, but never got to use it.
My only regret was that I had forgot to put my fire pit in the caravan, so we had nothing to sit round at night.
Overall this was a great site and would definitely use it again

Just back from the site after a very pleasant Bank Holiday weekend.
We stayed in the top field and had loads of space and didn't feel crowded at all. The environment was nice, very child friendly and safe, so much so our boys didn't want to leave the site.
The facilities were generally clean and in good working order, although in the gents there is only one toilet and one urinal so at peak periods it wasn't terribly pleasant. However, the owner did mention that he was thinking of bringing in additional toilet facilities which would improve things.
But given that, the site was clean, a friendly reception given and loads of breathing space. Well worth the visit and we will certainly be returning.

We stayed here over a very busy easter period but the site didn't seem over-crowded, the owners were friendly (unlike reported in other reiews). We had a lovely pitch on the top area it seems a little quieter than the bottom field. The play area was good and very safe for our 10 yr old,and the other kids enjoying the freedom. The toilet and showers are a little basic but ok. Great for driving into the Forest of Dean , and Ross on Wye. Good dog walking area. We will certainly use this site again enjoyed our visit.
