We stayed there for two nights, lovely camp site but caravans needed to park too close together. Only shared toilet near camp site to share between too many people another toilet and only one shower for whole site not enough. We went rowing on the river great fun for three hours, Childs play area small, amusement park very loud lots of slot machines broke so lost a lot of money in them but no one there to get it back, couple of great pubs one dog friendly where you can rake dog inside,

Level site in quiet spot behind statics. Electric hook up was available but 4 hook up points are on one 'post' and our cable was a little short so we had to park quite close to the next door caravan. Only 1 unisex loo in immediate area plus washing up area and sink for teeth cleaning (shared with camping field next door so not really enough) small shower block with extra loos other side of statics. Water in washing up area was only tepid. Easy 10 min walk along riverside path to nice pub.

Clean and tidy site, good location on the river. We were the only campers in the touring park (car park!) and so were very spoilt with the adjacent one unisex toilet and one washing up sink. Recommended for out of season but definitely not for at height of season, especially if tent field is full as share the facilities. There was a shower and toilet block by the wardens accommodation but has limited numbers of showers and toilets a certainly insufficient for a full site.

Pleasant site for only 8 touring caravans, plus a another field for tents. It also has nicely appointed statics.

The pitches are a bit close together at either end of a well kept grass area. Rather than 4 in a row, I feel 3 would be better with one in the middle as pitches are not marked out.

Just above in the wooded area is one very nice log cabin with a further 3 pitches with nothing on them at the moment.

There is a footpath in the the woods that leads to a pub garden and easy walking distance for a pub on the river.

The shower are is a short walk away through the statics, but we use our own, so can't comment on them.

There is a small building with washing up facilities and water fill up point on the left and one single toilet with no basin and elsan emptying point on the right. The odd thing is that if you are emptying the elsan, you almost stand in front of the toilet door.

Overall I like the site and its location and will definitely come back in the near future.

A pretty site, with pleasant surroundings. Amusement arcade and cafe on the site, also you can go canoeing on the river if your feeling energetic. Very strict with the placing of each unit and the toilets and showers are clean, but there isn't enough to cope with the whole site when its busy. Also the washing up facilities need to be bigger but all in all, a well appointed caravan and camping site to explore the many attractions on offer.

We have stayed here a couple of times recently, in both the 10' and 12' static vans. You really need to be in one of the larger vans, away from the clubhouse (not linked to the site), to enjoy your break. However, they are all comfortable and well-equipped.

This is a tidy site, well run by customer oriented people. It is situated in a great area with good transport links to other tourist spots.

Just returned from a 1 night stay at Sterrets, after reading the reviews on here I was a little concerned as to what to expect. On arrival we met the warden, first impression was dubious but you should not judge a book by its cover and he showed us our pitch and all was ok.

The site is set in great countryside and we were well away from the amusements etc which was good. We had trouble at 10pm with local youths skateboarding around the site roads and shouting etc. After phoning all the owners numbers the last one answered and they sent the warden to sort it which he did instantly. Toilets were ok, did not use the showers, the site was well kept and tidy.

Caravan was nice and well appointed but the tacky facilities detract from the local setting which is lovely.

The biggest issue is the lack of customer service and the strict rules that seem to be created on the spot whenever anyone tries to have fun. There are very few loos for the campers. You can only have one car by the van. The kids can't ride their bikes round the campsite. Football is confined to a very small area which makes sense as you don't want balls banging in the caravan but makes it hard to play. The play equipment leans in a quite frightening way. Then when the lads went to an open area away from everything to play frisbee they were told off.

Bit on top of each other and a bit unfriendly, wouldn't come again. Probably good for residents but not for a family holiday.

Larry was really helpful and friendly. The warden (I forget his name) was also friendly -we made special effort when we first met him (based on the reviews).

The amusements park and bar really brought down the ambience. In isolation the campsite is really quite pleasant - the Butterfly world and MAze is a must for small kids (ours are 4 and 5 and loved it).

We did a canoe trip - which was excellent - so also recommended.

Unfortunately for us we had a noisy dog next door the first night and a karaoke queen on full volume the second - so we didn't get much sleep :(.

All in all a good simple site - but I wouldn't go back unless I really needed to be in that location early in the morning.

Not much to add to previous comments, in my opinion all fair and accurate. The touring pitch area is partially grassed but feels a bit like a car park. It is however well screened from the closely packed statics.

Shower facilities and toilets fine despite being few in number. The unisex toilet was pretty basic.

The amusement arcade and run down club are just very odd and out of place and let the beautiful area down.

If you are not too fussy and are focussed on kayaking and walking then this place is in a good location to use as a base.
