Really enjoyed this site. Clean, well managed and very friendly helpful staff. Given a choice of pitches (view, or near facilities) we chose, and got, a view! Great clean facilities. Only suggestion for improvement would be a few hooks in the public areas of the shower blocks. We will be visiting again.

Loved this place, everything was within easy reach, the owner was very friendly and always around to help. My children are always asking to return! Clean all the time, showers hot and free! The only thing I would suggest as an improvement is to put in a small play area for children.

When we arrived the reception was closed but a number left in the window to contact the warden, he arrived before we could ring this.
Checked in and given a key to the locked barrier then we were taken to our pitch, this was right on the edge of one of the roads. Despite leveling blocks we could not get level so asked if we could move.
When we finally got set up the front of the caravan was as high as we could get it and the back almost touching the ground!
The location was ideal for exploring Dorset and the coast, the site had lovely views.
The staff were friendly and checked that everything was OK during our stay and provided lots of information on the local area.
The facilities were adequate but due to the site being grass did get messy at times, a mop and bucket might be a good idea for the showers. Unfortunately the staff can not help people who are not house trained!
Overall the site was good value for money and we would not hesitate to return.

A fantastic campsite! This site was recommended to us by friends and we've never looked back since. It has beautiful grounds, modern and clean facilities and the staff are always friendly and helpful and more than happy to help you. We regularly return now as it's one of our favourite sites.

We have just returned from an absolutely lovely holiday in this beautiful part of the country! We were a family of 5 and 4 (5 children and 4 adults) The campsite was spotless and not at all noisy the only thing missing was a washing machine but we found out as we were leaving that there was one 5 mins down the road! The toilets were always clean (well the ladies were) the showers were spacious and there was even a heated towel rail in each shower!
This will definitely be one we will be returning to in the future!

This is a clean and quiet site although got busy but there was plenty of space. The bottom field where we stayed was flat and huge allowing the children to play without causing any problems. The dog walk is small, about the size of a football pitch, but functional.
The downside to this site is its location. The roads surrounding the site have no footpaths so we were unable to walk anywhere and had to use to the car. There is a forestry commission walk about 5 minute walk away but the roads were just too dangerous to chance it. There were a number of local pubs which were beautiful however, unable to walk there!
It was a bit of a pain the barrier to get in and out as it was a lock and key system which I had to open manually. Drive my car through and get out again to lock it. I am sure that there is much more efficient means to get in and out.
Fire pits were great but expensive. I thought £10 per night, including bag of wood was a bit much. Only did this once. However, there is a Wyevale garden centre nearby, where I am sure you would be able to buy a fire pit.
The fishing was poor. The lake appears to have been left untendered for a number of years, however there is coarse fishing directly opposite the site (no car needed) which was much better.

Spent a few nights here with the kids (10 and 13) during a VERY chilly Feb half term.
To be honest, whilst we were limited in choice (most sites in the area aren't open all year as this one is), location wise, it was the perfect base for us to explore the surrounding area and stop in on family.
The omens were good before arrival - a phone call from the owners to check how our journey from the Midlands was going, ETA and instructions on how to reach them when we tipped up. Site was understandably quiet, we had our pick of the hookup pitches, all hardstanding and level.
Man, was it cold! Overnight temps well below freezing and we were in a VW Westfalia with a pop top but we were prepared with a thermal roof liner and the night heater (which we ended up having to switch off it was so toasty!) and were therefore nigh on thrilled to discover the immaculate toilet blocks were heated too. In warmer weather it must be ace to explore around the lake area.
Ran out of gas while we were there, but it was no trouble for the site to supply us a 907 there and then.
If you haven't worked out by now, we were very happy with Meadow View and will be returning.
Great site!

Just back from a great bank holiday weekend with friends and my daughter. Campsite does feel very spacious and quiet. The wardens are welcoming and helpful. The area is lovely and in a great location for shops, new forest and the beach. You can also get a take away delivered but the local Chinese in Ferdown takes a while to come we waited nearly two hours so order in plenty of time as reasonably priced and taste fantastic. Fire pit great fun at £10 not bad. Definitely will return sometime.
