Great location 10 minutes walk into Matlock & about 30 minutes into Matlock bath. Lots of steep hills but expected in Matlock.
Nice size field at back of the pub however it was a bit wet so we stayed or the rear end of the car park.
Quick response to booking request.
Lovely pub with singer on the Saturday night when we stayed.
We had a meal at the pub which was brilliant all home made.
Would definitely stay again.

Loved the place, owners and staff very friendly and welcoming, food superb and good size portion's and a great pint of Timothy Taylor.
Originally booked for 3 nights but ended up staying extra night (site had cancellation so bonus for us) and we got to sample Sunday carvery we heard about and it was bang on, succulent meat, crispy roasties, creamy mash, juicy veg n lashings of gravy, booking for carvery advised.
Site itself not too large with a mix of hard standing and grass pitches, electric hookup available at an extra cost ( if you don't need it you don't pay for it), site needs to be approached down hill as to try and turn in going uphill would probably result in bottoming out, the owners did tell me this in confirmation email.
There is a church opposite and the bells chime every quarter but we never noticed and slept well.
Area good for walkers Matlock Matlock Bath Heights of Abraham's Gulliver's Kingdom short drive or walk away, other pubs corner shop garage at bottom of hill,
Well worth a stay, we will be returning

An excellent place to stay. The field was a little muddy due to the weather so we were happy to stay on hard standing.
The pub is fabulous, great meals and beers available. Lovely clean toilets and showers available at all times.
The nearby church bells were a little annoying but we got used to them. Used the site as a base to visit Matlock Bath.
Landlord and landlady very friendly and helpful. Thankyou
£10 per person and £7, 50 for electricity (which is a little high).
Would recommend and will use again.

Campsite is in a great location. Easy walk into Matlock. Owners very friendly and helpful. Nice pub.
However, EHU is very expensive. The most we have paid in over a dozen sites this year.
No Elsan point for waste.
Hardstanding was disappointing as you are actually in the car park.
Three toilets and 2 showers. Shower units weren't great with mould around the bottom.

Campsite is basic but has everything you need such as spacious pitches, water, toilets and showers.
The Duke William pub was really friendly and served good food and pints which was lovely.
The owners went out of their way to make us feel welcome and overall the atmosphere was really relaxed.
Plus the location was fab for an easy stroll into Matlock town or into the Peaks.

Field behind the pub, plenty of space to set up and a good size pitch available.
Toilet block with 2 showers and 3 toilets 🚻. Water tap outside, all open 24/7.
Friendly staff in pub no problem to point out hiking routes or answer questions about the area.
Pub offers food everyday apart from Monday although I didn't eat here.
Choosing to self caterer. Good range of beers.
Close to hiking routes
Five stars 🌟

Me and my partner stayed at the Duke William and we had great experience!
The campsite and facilities were clean, the showers were very good, and the owners were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
On Saturday, the entertainment was fun and I’d recommend the carvery on Sunday - great value.
The location was perfect for Matlock and the High Tor walks. The grass was a little bit long, but it was quite rainy on the Sunday.
We will definitely stay again, we had such a lovely weekend.
Thanks so much for such a great weekend - we would definitely recommend staying here !

Great weekend at The Duke William, very friendly man met us and told us where to pitch,
Perfect location for walking into Matlock.
Weather wasn’t kind to us this weekend, rain and more rain 🙄
Entertainment on Saturday night but we were already booked into Matlock Pavilion, Disco for Grown ups 😂😂 Great night.
Will definitely visit again. Thank you 😊

Peace and quiet the time we were there, wonderful hosts, great beer, great food.
The only thing to break the tranquillity was the church clock which chimes every 15 minutes for 24 hours, but it's not a problem at all.
Site is great, will hopefully be back again.
