A superb site conveniently situated in the Weald near to Tunbridge Wells. The grounds within the orchard site are well cared for and the facilities are excellent - a nice little toilet block and all basic services are readily to hand. Owners Bernie and Robert are nice people and there for you if needed. I thoroughly recommend this site.

Having read the reviews on this site it appeared to be a perfect place to stay for 5 nights to explore Tonbridge & the surrounding area. In reality we were very disappointed & will not be returning to this one.
Yes the directions on their website made it easy to find, what they fail to tell you is outside the campsite the roads in all directions are gridlocked. It took nearly an hour to go 7 miles.
When we arrived the site looked quite well maintained & cared for. We later discovered this was not so.
The shower block is fairly new, nicely laid out & showers are lovely. However, it was let down by not being particularly clean. I don't know if it was cleaned while we were there, if so it was not done very well.
The site is on a slope & full of apple trees, which looks nice. There was fruit & grass mowings left all over the ground, making it slippery, uneven & difficult to walk on. Not good for those with mobility problems.
We were greeted by a security gate, with instructions to go to reception to check in. When we found someone we were given the wrong code. This was the only time we saw anyone in reception during our stay, until we were leaving.
We did not feel very welcome at all. We were not alone in this, the people next to us were so unhappy they went home two days early.
It certainly is not a site to go to for a peaceful break. There was a combination of being directly under a flight path, constant road & rail noise & train whistle point for a nearby hazard.
On a positive note, to end, it was really nice to have showers which were not timed.

Just spent a great couple of nights at this wonderful site, the owners make you welcome as you book in.
Set in the grounds of an apple orchard it is well maintained and very good value for money.
Will be booking to go again very shortly.

A nice little site. Adults only, ten hard-standing pitches, all with hook-up. Good clean facilities, lots of space, very well maintained, with friendly helpful owners. Within walking distance of Tonbridge and only a few miles from Tunbridge Wells. Nice and dark at night and lots of free apples in the autumn! Toilets and showers are very clean and everything works. Nice little touches like a radio playing in the loos every morning from 8am-10. 30am.
Downsides: Planes, trains & automobiles. Lots of road noise from the A26, trains hooting as they go past a level crossing, and planes flying over to and from London. If your van is better insulated than our old bus, however, these might not be a problem.
Overall, a really nice site that's well worth a visit, especially for £19/night all in.
Best to come in from the A26 as the other end (A2014) is *very* narrow.

This was our first visit to this site and when we arrived at 1. 30pm our pitch was still occupied. Our first impressions of the site though were very pleasing and the owners were welcoming. However after a few peaceful days things changed as new people arrived with more pets than residents on site, during our 14 night stay we experienced 2 caravans each with 5 dogs and 1 caravan with 4 dogs. We are not dog owners but are also not anti dog as long as they are well behaved and controlled but with this number of dogs ourselves and other people staying on site we thought it was far too many. When one started they all started barking. Owners also let their beloved dogs run loose and foul the pitches they were on and did very little to stop their noise. Hence no return visit by us unless there was a change of policy.
The area in general was very nice, with good bus services and local shops and amenities. The site facilities and outlooks were clean and well kept. You could also pick apples from the orchards. Overall a lovely little site {without so many dogs}.

Perfect!
Easy to find being just off the A21 (just follow the directions on the website). Very accommodating owners who were very flexible when we needed to change arrival dates. Friendly welcome and nice to be given a choice of pitch, most are on a slight slope so you will need levelling blocks (pieces of wood are provided) and all 10 are on hard core so rock pegs will be required if you are erecting an awning. All pitches are very generous in size and have views over the apple orchard and lawned area which is also used for camping tents. Water points are dotted around the camp site and a chemical waste point is located at the rear of the toilet block.
Toilet, shower block and dishwashing area is kept spotless with plenty of hot water. A small selection of books are available to swop or loan.
Plenty of NT properties to visit and Tonbridge is a delightful town with an excellent selection of supermarkets and shops. Lidl on the high street give you 90 mins free car parking otherwise take plenty of change.
All in all a lovely time was had at Apple Acres it's so peaceful and quiet and I would certainly return. Just one thing on my 'wish list' please instal a washing machine.

A very pleasant and quiet site, for adults only.
On booking in on site, we were given a map of the local area, which included local towns and pubs, the owners were very friendly and helpful, but once we got to our pitch we were left alone to enjoy our weekend.
The pitch was hard standing with gravel, a slight slope but the owners provide wooden boards to use for levelling.
Shower and toilet blocks were all clean and tidy, nice to see a proper power shower where you don't have to keep holding the button in for constant water use.
The surrounding area around the pitches were well looked after and maintained.
Plenty walking areas which is great especially if you take your dog.
There is a car boot fair there on Sundays in a field near by.
Other campers were very pleasant and friendly. Just a nice amount of pitches for a peaceful and relaxing weekend
Would definitely go to this campsite again, this was our first time there and was only for 3 nights, but we're thinking of making this a regular, local, weekend getaway, plus the odd week or two

We have just returned from a lovely week at this small site. As mentioned in previous reviews, the entrance to the site is located about 100 metres from the A21 junction just before the telephone box. The 10 pitches are nicely spaced out and a generous size. There is a gentle slope to the site but nothing a couple of levelling blocks couldn't sort out. As the name suggests, we were surrounded by 250 apple trees, we picked a carrier bag full to bring home. The facilities are housed in a ex sports pavilion relocated from Kettering, Northants, which is just up the road from where we live! 2 showers on either side, with adequate hot water and kept clean and tidy at all times.
We visited the Spotted Dog pub at Penshurst, where we received a warm welcome and enjoyed some real ale and local cider. The menu looked good although we didn't partake.
We will definitely be returning to this relaxing site in the future, and will recommend it to our friends.

Our sat. nav. told us we'd reached our destination a few hundred yards before the site entrance, which threw us somewhat, and as the sign was at right angles to the road we drove past it. We had to go all the way into Tunbridge Wells to find a suitable turning point - a mini roundabout. So our advice is to trust the site's directions - the turning really is at the end of the dual carriageway, immediately before the red phone box on the left hand side of the road (if approaching from Tonbridge).
This is a small, adults only site with just 10 touring pitches, all hard standing. There is also a large field used for tents (although the site licence doesn't indicate a provision for camping pitches). The pitches themselves were very large but the material used was a mix of large and small 'hardcore-type' stones, which was a little uncomfortable under foot. The site is slightly sloping, but there were pieces of wood available on each pitch to help with levelling if required. Also, each pitch had a very handy picnic bench or 'tete-a-tete' table.
The facilities block:
Ladies: 2 showers, 2 toilet cubicles and 2 sinks. The showers were fairly small cubicles with shower screen doors, but with no locking door - just a curtain for privacy. There was nowhere to put shower gel/shampoo etc inside the cubicles. However, the temperature was adjustable and the water supply was plentiful (no push-button controls). Although there was a changing bench with hooks in the dressing area, there wasn't a hook near the cubicle to hang a towel on whilst in the shower. This meant that one had to step, soaking wet, out of the cubicle, which was a few inches high, to get a towel in the dressing area, thus making the floor very wet.
There was hand soap, with a cloth to wipe around the sinks, and a hot air hand drier.
Gents: 2 showers, 1 toilet cubicle, 2 urinals and 3 sinks. Hubby found just having the 1 cubicle a bit of an inconvenience (pardon the pun!)as, even though this is a small site, there was occasionally a queue for the one toilet. This was made worse when the tent field had a few occupants too.
Dishwashing: there is one large sink for dishwashing/handwashing situated in the foyer of the ladies/gents loos, which also contained a small book swap and leaflet stand. It would benefit from having at least a spin drier, if not a washing machine, although no doubt the site fees would increase with extra facilities, so we can't have it all ways, I suppose.
Regular Sunday boot sales are held on the fields that lead to the site. If you plan on leaving on a boot sale Sunday, departure time would need to be considered. We were told to wait until around 1. 30pm (much later than we'd planned) when all the booters would have gone as it might take around 30mins to get through the traffic, but unbeknown to us the area had been vacated much earlier, so we could have left sooner.
Summary:
A very nice, quiet, adults only site. I would class this as a 'no frills' site, but what you do get is clean.
The owners are pleasant and helpful.
There is easy access from the main road (once you've found it), but this can also be a drawback on exiting the site. The road is very busy, and sometimes it took us ages to get out onto the main road.
It is on a flight path to (I presume) Heathrow. This didn't bother us in the slightest, though.
There is a pub within walking distance 'The Vauxhall' that serves very nice food. It took us around 30 mins each way, but is uphill all the way back - ok to work off that meal!
Sadly we didn't get to see any of the wildlife so well promoted on the website.
We would not hesitate to return to the site in the future.

We have just returned home from a good stay at this site. Facilities are well maintained and well thought out. As we wanted a EHU and grass also the owners suggested which pitches were best for us. And the one we chose was fine.
Took the local walk to the pub one day, took nearly 30 minutes via farm lanes etc.
Nice quiet site and just about as organised/regimented as we would like, we will return later in the year
