We've just arrived back to Newcastle after spending 4 nights at galabank campsite with our 3 kids. We had a wonderful time here, the feeling of the whole campsite was a breath of fresh air.
With so many campsites being so restrictive these days it was such a change to have such a welcoming free to roam feel about the place! The site owner Margaret couldn't have been more welcoming, very accessible campsite with a child friendly vibe.
Easy access to local amenities.
My daughter and I had a lovely early morning walk along the river which is situated just behind the campsite, we headed into Annan along the banks of the river which she found magical with rabbits, squirrels and even a trout jumping all making an appearance along the route.
This site is an ideal spot for a few nights away or as a start to your Scottish adventure, Enjoy!

Great location as near the town though the neighbouring football club can be noisy if there’s a function as was the case on one of our nights.
The facilities are limited in number but clean.

There was a slight problem gaining admittance to the site as you now need to obtain an access code for the barrier from the warden and I am not very good with mobile phones!
However, once in the site was pleasant, grass cut, toilet facilities clean and welcoming and if a little basic there is everything you need plus a comfy chair! \the warden is friendly and helpful and the price was the cheapest on our month's tour of Scotland and Northumberland!
Access to a riverside walk is just off the site and it is walking distance to the town.
An enjoyable stay.

Galabank is a great but basic little campsite.
It is well maintained.
Its a hidden gem.
Its a short walk to Annan Town centre.
It's well placed to allow exploration of the surrounding areas too : Gretna, Carlisle and Dumfries.
We will go again.

Site situated 10-15 min walk from Annan at side of sports stadium. All grass pitches. Secure gated site.
Toilet/shower block locked, access by code. Only 1 shower, 3 toilets & couple of hand basins. Washing machine & tumble dryer situated in ladies toilet block.
Warden kept place very clean & tidy & was very helpful with local knowledge.
From site it was close to the river although to get to river you had to descend quite steep steps, but led to a very picturesque route along the river.
Highly recommend will definitely return if in the area

Pleasant campsite, near to town centre.
Sadly poured with rain so didn't get chance to explore, but site facilities well kept and clean.
Only there for one night so limited use due to weather.

It's a flat grassed area
No more than 5 minutes' walk from Annan town centre, and also very near the river Annan.
Clean toilet and shower facilities.
A straight forward and well maintained site.

Basic site only 5 mins walk into Annan,
Toilets again basic but clean.
Good site for a stop-off either going North or South as only 5 mins from motorway.
Annan in my opinion has seen better days although walks along the river next to the park are lovely. No wardens/security on site so easy access for boy racers who decided to visit twice in the early hours music blaring and girls screaming,
Because of this, would think twice about staying overnight here again.
