After another visit to Galabank, I'm afraid it appears to be turning into a travellers site. Caravans with vans and cars parked everywhere.
The facilities are still excellent, but impossible to use as the washing machine and tumble dryer go day and night, when the travellers are on site, and a visit to the toilet entails running the gauntlet, as the toilet block is used as a meeting place.
It is an uneven site with poor drainage, but the facilities on site and the surrounding area more than make up for that.
There is a shop a couple of minutes walk for rolls and papers etc, and if a a bedtime drink is your thing the Annan Athletic Club is very handy - and has bingo on a Tuesday night.

Have just returned from another weekend at Galabank.
The site itself is pretty uneven, and can get very soggy, but the location could not be better, as you can walk into Annan town within 10 mins, and it has pretty much everything, including a Cinema etc. Etc.
The toilet & shower block, would put some bigger sites to shame. And the owner is always there if needed.
Will be back later on in the year, as it is a handy stopover from Scotland to England

A very handy site in the town of Annan next to the football club and near river annan. Some of the site is on bit of a slope, mostly where electric hook ups are. Can get very soggy when it rains heavy and can be a bit hard towing out unit, myself a used motor mover to get unit out but not everyone has got a motor mover with there caravan. It can get a bit noisy from club house but nice walks into town with plenty of shops. There are very nice river walks with pubs here and there for to quench the thirst. Toilets basic but work ok. We have stayed here a couple of times for local festival in July which is really good all in all a handy base for touring the area a very reasonable price as well and you can go to club bar and have a good few pints without worrying about driving which is a plus.

Approached through a housing estate, this site is next to Annan Football club. We were very dubious about staying and almost drove away, but as we were only staying a few nights, decided to stay.
The heated shower block is immaculate, with 3 toilets & 1 shower. The warden on site was very pleasant & helpful. There is 1 outside sink for washing up and 2 picnic tables - nothing else on site, although you can use the bar attached to the football club. You can hear the music from the club on an evening, but it wasn’t so bad as to spoil your stay.
Nice clean site if using as a base for exploring or walking in the nearby area. There is a stile on the site which leads you to a nice walk along the river – this is part of the Annandale Way. Luckily the weather was good while we stayed here, so I can’t comment on the drainage of the site, but it is very uneven if you are staying in a tent - the part next the the football ground seemed to be the flatter side.
Not sure we would stay here again but that's just because we prefer very rural sites and this one faced a row of houses from the estate over the road, although a few large trees gave a bit of privacy.
Annan town centre has a few supermarkets for supplies & there are a few take aways if you prefer to use those.

A reasonably priced site with basic showers and toilets, but two things to complain about I'm afraid. The grass field does not drain at all and quickly becomes waterlogged, making it a nightmare to tow your van off. The other problem was the boy racers using the site's access road to turn around. With their noisy exhausts and thumping sound systems. Every night throughout my stay from around 8pm until gone 12 midnight. This site is in need of some security to keep these people off the site.
