Had a lovely couple of nights at Barons Cross - big thanks to Erica and all her staff for making us feel welcome. Lovely home cooked food and an open fire. Toilets and shower lovely and clean. Lovely to wake up and see the horses and Indian running ducks. Will definitely stay again.

Stayed for three nights at the end of September, entrance to site could be tight for large units, each pitch bordered by low fencing with water tap and night light (not working), TV reception good, grass cuttings dumped behind some pitches, Childrens playground at rear of pub with ducks and geese also large paddock with horses, no other views. Site not suitable for ball games. Location good for Berrington Hall and Croft Castle both NT, also visited Shobden Church(interior painted Blue and White), Quote-Like walking into a Wedding Cake. Not the owners fault but site is bordered by two main roads therefore suffers from constant traffic noise including heavy lorries this eases after about 6pm.
Will not return to this site.

Just back from a weekend here. Nice spacious pitches, with an optional hook up. We didn't use it. There is a washing up sink under cover, and toilets situated inside the pub. Also a shower room, which we did not use. Mainly because there is just the one, so was quite busy. Very laid back owners, and there has been some thought put into the outside area which was lovely. We bought a treasure hunt off the internet to do whilst in Leominster Town, the main reason for staying here. We walked into Town, which took maybe 25 mins steady walk. Also a morrisons nearby. We didn't eat at the pub, but it seemed to be laid out very nicely for food, and didn't see anyone else eat there either to comment. The other campers, all one party, ate pizzas in there, which had been delivered and the staff were obliging and helpful towards them. Some road noise. Would stay here again.

Just returned from a wonderful weekend break at this site. The landlady is very accommodating nothing was too much trouble and the laid back attitude made for a very relaxing and chilled weekend for us and our four friends. The site is within easy walking distance of Leominster town and has the added bonus of Morrisons being at the end of the road. The pub is dog friendly and the food is excellent. Probably the best Sunday lunch I have tasted. We will definitely be returning.

Just had a weekend with friends at this campsite - what a gem. The owner and her staff were really friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The food was great, the service was great, very reasonable prices, will definitely come again! Facilities were very clean and even though they were inside the pub, they were accessible 24 hours a day.

This was our second stay at this campsite. Things have certainly changed since our last visit. Nice level pitches, all with hook up and water tap. First thing we noticed upon entering the pub was that it was a lot cleaner, and has been redecorated. The landlord is very friendly and so are the bar staff and locals. Don't be put off by the older reviews, give it a try. Nice to be in a pub where the tv is switched off and music is played at a reasonable volume.

Just returned from a relaxing 2 days on this site. The new owners made us very welcome and having taken over the pub and site that had been neglected they have worked very hard to create a well-maintained site with good facilities. Generously sized level grass pitches are situated in a quiet location at the rear of the pub, elec. Hook-ups are available and fresh water is within easy reach. Toilets, washbasins and a new shower are at the rear of the pub and are open 24 hours. There is also a dish-washing area. A reasonably priced varied menu is on offer within the pub (except Mondays)and Morrisons supermarket is only 170 yds away for stocking up supplies. There is a children`s play area within the beer garden to entertain little campers. With Leominster, Hereford and Ludlow all within easy reach and NT properties Croft Castle & Berrington Hall close by, this is a great little site as a base for touring this area.

Just had a wonderful Bank Holiday weekend at Barons Cross. As we have a big old Greyhound who doesn't travel well anymore, we were looking for a pub site that was relatively nearby and was dog friendly. Looking at reviews of this site, it appeared that it had new owners who were intent on improving the site and we were glad to find that this was in fact the case. When we arrived on the Friday evening, we were told to take our pick of the remaining pitches. The pitches were all individually fenced off, well mown and very spacious. Electric points were plentiful and the water tap was close by. After we had set up the van, we made our way over to the pub. This had obviously had a lot of money invested in it, confirmed by a few of the friendly locals that we spoke to. We had a lovely night there. As we have our own facilities in the van, we don't really need to use the sites', but as we were in a hurry to get to the Hay Festival, I went and used the site shower while the missus used the vans. This was spotlessly clean, with a seat and lots of pegs. No meter for this. On Sunday afternoon we took a stroll down to Leominster to visit the local pubs and try to get something to eat. Unfortunately the only pub that allowed dogs in and served food had stopped serving food at 2 o'clock. We made our way back to Barons Cross and asked the landlady if it would be ok to have a take-away delivered to the site and she said she could do even better, by having it delivered to the pub, where we could eat it on plates supplied by her. There was no rush to have us off the site in the and we were disappointed when we had to leave, but we will most certainly be back to this wonderful site.

At last this camp site is back on track, The Barons Cross has new owners (just taken over the pub in December 2014). They are a very nice couple with very high hopes for the future of this camp site and a lovely pub. Well worth a visit. Lots of places to visit locally. Do give them a try they need your support to get this site up and running again
