First impressions: hmm
Arrived late Friday evening driving from Sunderland for a birthday celebration.
Phoned owners a few times on late arrival - absolutely fine.
8pm pulled up without any clear signs then released it was in a pubs field.
Campsite corned off with wooden fences.
Husband checked in which the guy clearly didn't know we were coming and got shown to toilets and shower room.
After un-packing and settlling down from an all right sleep - road extremely noisy.
Negative:
Run down camp area.
The two toilets area need a lick of paint.
No hot water in shower room, run down and dirty.
Park area un-safe for our 3year old.
We used this campsite of the purpose of our stay to sleep, wouldn't stay again and wouldn't recommend it.

Only stayed for a couple of nights. Field is small, but completely adequate and level. Electric pitches. Great field for dogs and children next to it. Facilities are basic, only 1 shower and 2 toilets, but extremely budget friendly. Friendly welcome by owner and very helpful. However, very disappointed with the food. Took over an hour and a half for food to arrive and it wasn't nice (sorry)! Kids play area could be a little safer too, but they loved the chickens and goats.

Just got back from this pub site, and on arrival we were greeted by the owner who told us that we could pitch anywhere as the site was empty except one other.
We pitched nearer to the pub and each pitch had own electric and water and fairly level.
First night we hardly got any sleep didn't realise how noisy the road is at that junction and we are light sleepers, owner came to see if everything was all right and suggested that we move to the other end of the field further away from the road, after doing that we had no problems. Owner is very helpful and even allowed me to use his electrical test meter as we had a problem on the 12volt side of the electrics and we sorted it between us.
Pub has a good selection of food and very tasty home made pies, dogs are only allowed in the bar side trouble is there is nowhere to sit and eat, so we ate in the garden area.
Basically it is a good stopover with a friendly atmosphere, woul;d use it again

When we arrived on the site we thought 'Oh Dear'! there were workmen digging up the grass and trying to lay electrics and the grass was a bit overgrown.
We set up and then went into the pub for a drink as we had just travelled for three weeks around Devon and Cornwall.
The landlord was very nice and friendly and the pub was nice and inviting.
There is a nice park area for the kids and two goats and some hens.
The door to the toilets is left open all night so no problem there and there is one shower which we did not use as we have all the facilities needed in our caravan.
After our initial shock, we did enjoy staying here but I didn't think much of Leominster. For some reason, I expected more??
Would we go back. Not sure on that one

This is our second visit to this site. Since the first, the ownership has changed. The new owners, Steve and Sue are campers themselves and really make you welcome at Barron's Cross. Steve turned up with a cup of coffee while we were pitching and waded in, getting wet and helping us get the tent up in driving wind and rain!
The site is on flat mostly level ground that was nicely mown. There is a play area for the little ones. There is only one shower, but even during a weekend when a camper van rally was on site, we only had to queue once. 50p required for a boiling hot shower, which if you can find someone to share, is well worth it. Plenty of time for two to shower before the timer ran out!
The pub has excellent food and beer. Local produce, real ales, a log fire and all reasonably priced. There is a Morrison's almost next door for the essentials, and Leominster is an easy downhill half hour stroll away, with a bus back??
Highly recommended.

The Barons Cross Inn at Leominster was the perfect place for mine and my husband's new campervan's maiden voyage, along with friends and their van. It provided everything we needed for a marvellous weekend - including sunshine and warmth, which always help of course!
Warm welcome from the proprietors - dogs are most welcome too.
The food and beers were excellent. Such a great and varied menu all beautifully presented, and extremely tasty using fresh and local produce.
Facilities, though a little worn always kept clean and tidy, which is more important to us.
There is a play area for kids - goats and chickens to go and visit too - though unfortunately our little dog had a penchant for chasing their chickens for entertainment!
Large Morrisons store within walking distance.
Stunning area and good chance to finally see Leominster - often pass near it but never drop in.
Thanks Barons Cross - we would definitely visit you again and recommend it to friends and relatives!

What a turn round on this site! where have the old owners gone? I am sorry but we will not be going back to this site again! I will let you come to your own conclusions? what a real good site ruined, come back Nigel and Carol. Why can't the new owners look after the site and keep the grass nice and short like the last people. And what have they done to the nice pet goats? This site has lost it's charm and warm feeling. The man behind the bar needs to get more in tune with the camper and caravanner.

What a lovely place to spend a relaxing weekend! Spent a great weekend at the Barons Cross Inn with my partner in October this year. The welcome was as warm as the lovely log fire in the pub!
Camp site - Clean and well-maintained. Was a bit boggy, but that was to be expected with all the recent rain!
Toilets - Clean and regularly maintained. Plenty of VERY hot water!
Pub - Warm, and very friendly. Good selection of beers and ales, all at reasonable prices.
Food - Very good menu at average prices.
Would recommend to anyone looking for somewhere as a base to explore the surrounding area, including Ludlow, Hereford, Tenbury wells or a bit further away towards Wales!
In one word - Great!

Stayed here for 4 nights, loved the sign as you entered the pub saying 'Please Step Over The Dog' put my mind at rest, that they wouldn't mind the dogs, we stayed here in between Dog Agility Shows, the landlord was very friendly, so was Charlie the White GSD belonging to the pub.
The facilities were great, 50p for the shower, but you had plenty of time for a good wash. The food is excellent and reasonably priced.
Nigel the Landlord can direct you to all the places of interest. The Morrisons is within easy walking distance, The pitches generous with own water supply and Electric hook up. The Ralley field was usefull for running the dogs with their frisbees, Well Behaved dogs were allowed in the garden, a totally relaxed stay, will use this pub again, and we didn't mind the bit of road noise, what do you expect on a busy junction.
Highly recommended.

Just spent 3 nights at this site. Was easy to get to, site is small but you have plenty of room, water and electric in easy reach at the end of the panel fencing dividing pitches.
There were toilets and only one shower that were clean, available with a key (£10 refundable deposit), from the pub landlord.
We ate twice at the pub good selection on menu, served fresh and hot with plenty of veg, excellent.
Landlord was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area.
We will use this site in the future and recommend it to family and friends. Only £14 a night and a morriston 5mins walk down the road.
