Excellent site for a stopover in July. Easily findable by satnav from the route through Rouen. Lots of pitches (not soggy at all), partially shaded. Didn't use the facilities, so can't comment. Had difficulty finding a tap (in the washing machine room) & waste bins. ACSI had finished but only paid a Euro more.

Another update for this year.
We were meeting friends so stayed here as it is very convenient. There had been lots of rain all over France, the pitches were a mess and the mud was smelly. Apparently the warden had had to tow vans off with his tractor. However, he didn't tell us any of this when we checked in, just took our money as usual. We finally chose to stay on one of the roads at the end of a cul-de-sac, in line with a number of other vans. Very few went on the pitches.
I wouldn't have minded, but the ACSI discount had finished and we paid full season price, which I considered quite expensive for a roadside halt. Had the warden told us about the condition of the pitches we might have had second thoughts.

Not the most friendly reception, and my wife speaks good French.
I tried 3 stand pipes before I found one that would supply water. Only one sit down loo in the gents, so gents were using the ladies. To be fair the facilities were kept clean, but in desperate need of updating.
A public path adjacent to the site didn't look to be securely fenced, although we didn't have any bother during our stay.
Early end to ACSI deal so we paid 43 Euros for two nights at the end of June. Very pricey compared to the rates and facilities of other sites that we visited.
Positives - free WIFI at reception.
The town of Chartres is a bit of a jewel, and well worth a visit. We cycled in via a safe route along the river then a steep climb up to the cathedral area. It's a longish but do-able walk.
Pity the site isn't better, but tolerable for a couple of nights adjacent to Chartres.

Reviewers - mature couple with campervan and bikes.
Just an update as there have been no reviews so far this year.
We stayed for 1 night on our way home, we meet friends who live locally so this site is very convenient. It is also convenient for the town, via the foot/cycle path along the river.
No change to the sanitary block. Say no more. But not expensive.

Yeah the old bird on the reception is a grumpy old cow and she speaks only French but is that a problem ?. No it isnt as ifyour visiting then you should at least have respect to try the local lingo as the world doesn't revolve around the uk. The site is tired but cheap so I'm well happy and there's a lovely walk along the river which me and the hounds love. The cathedral in the centre is amazing and there's a lovely bar right outside that serves amazing food and beer. Not the best campsite in the world if your a snob but if your in France and want to feel like your in France then this is the place to stop. On the other hand your in France and want to feel like your on a caravan club site then its probably best you stayed in tbe uk and left us proper campers to have all of the fun !.

Even though previous reviews on this site are quite varied, we decided to stay here because of it's location, which suggests it is within walking distance of the town and the beautiful Chartres cathedral. We booked in and drove to find a pitch. We noticed that there were several twin axle caravans and also several white vans on the site. These, along with the sheet we had been given about locking away valuables, made us feel a bit uncomfortable about staying on the site, and we decided to leave. To be fair to the man on reception, we were given our money back! We may have judged this site harshly, but did not feel happy to stay there.

We had a one night stay here to visit the city, which is at least a mile walk to the center. Free Wi fi in reception, old french plug type 6A EHU. The site is well shaded with trees, but they do hide the Astra Sat!
This is a good place to stay to see the city but not my kind of place to stay just on the site for a holiday.
Nice easy drive over grey dump point.

We stayed here in 2014 in July. We don't like sites which are rock bottom basic, or too scruffy or don't feel safe. And this one fell into none of those categories. Typical French Municipal. All facilities available as usual, own loo roll as usual with municipals but is that so bad!
No I wouldn't stay for a week, but for 1 nights as a stop over en route or 2/3 night to see the City and its wonderful Cathedral it was absolutely perfect. Guy on reception spoke little English but was pleasant and we made ourselves understood. After all, it is France! Lots of different pitches available, open air on huuuuuge grassy area, or in trees in individual pitches, all quite organised and you just pick your own spot. We sat in the sunshine in the evening and enjoyed a glass or two in a very relaxed atmosphere. The walk into town is just fine, about 35 mins max but if you have a bicycle then even better, and lots seemed to be doing that. The walk goes straight from the camp site along a wooded pathway used by many, campers and locals, and then along by the river. You can't get lost as you can see the Cathedral so just head for that. If they have the 'Lumiere' display advertised then that is an absolute MUST SEE!. It was on every night and the surrounding bars etc are really lovely. If you are there in the day time, then do visit the cathedral inside. It is A-MAZING!
We are going again this year as a stop over on way to Limosin. I don't do reviews much but I feel after reading some of the previous ones, this place deserves a much better recommendation.
It says there are only 15 motorhome pitches, that may just be hard standing because we toured round many more than that before choosing our spot in the trees! and there is a massive grass area if you don't need a hook up.
I am the one in our house who fusses about safety and security. But at 'Camping Les Bords De L'Eure'. No problems at all. Gates are closed at night too so no one can just drive in in middle of the night and pitch up for free.

Easy to find using sat nav, busy site with good facilities, didn't like to use the stand pipe tap as water cloudy from there, brilliant for walk into Chartres and good cycling path from site. Arrived at 12. 25pm and found the office closed, rang the bell as lunch time closing was listed 12. 30pm to 2pm, after a while lady came to the door and checked us in, manner could have been a little more friendlier but hey ho.

Stayed here in May this year with some trepidation having read reviews but was pleasantly surprised. This is a municipal site and similar to others we stayed on this visit. Mr &mrs still in charge but I found by speaking a bit of French produced a smile and a joke! Site was partially waterlogged due to heavy rain but grass was cut and facilities clean. Although for number of people probably inadequate ( site was busy when we arrived at 2 and filled up all afternoon and early evening )
1k walk along river to town centre Son et Luminiere not to be missed Starts at 22. 00 ish. Best place to start is the cathedral
Walk back through park late at night might worry some unless more than two of you Torch advisable for last part
