The site is in a very good location for visiting Chartres along a pleasant river side path.
The washrooms are good but the water fill point was payable and in a locker.
The fresh water hose was dangling over a defunct black waste which some one had recently used. Not hygienic.
During our stay many vehicles were broken into during the night, 11 around us and more in other areas. No one was aware until morning when they discovered broken door locks. The police were on site and said it was a gang from Paris last there 2 years ago.
A real shame as it is a nice site but we probably wouldn’t stay again.

Stayed here again this year, it is one of our favourite places. The new people have continued to make improvements to the site, especially to the pitches.
They have improved the access slopes to the few pitches that are not level, and fitted mesh to more of the pitches that often become very soggy in the rain.
They have also opened a second back gate onto the riverside, which makes it a very pleasant walk or cycle to the supermarket.
The refurbished facilities are kept very clean.
For a change this time we cycled along the river away from the city, there is a park, then an area of countryside and a lake.
There is a permanent pizza kiosk on the site, open most days, and very good value.

An overnight stop for us on the way down but impressed with the improvements from a few years ago. Central amenities block all refurbished & really good.
Also friendly & helpful English speaking receptionists. We paid about 20€ with ACSI card.
It is a couple of miles from Chartres ring road with easy access to site. Some pitches among the trees can be tight to get onto but if you don’t like it choose another. We did & they weren’t bothered.
Large Intermarche supermarket a few minutes drive from site for food & fuel.
So worth it for an overnight stop or more if you want to visit city.

Stayed here twice this holiday, we love it here.
On the way south, there had a been a lot of heavy rain and the pitches were very soft. The first pitch we were allocated had a sloping access which we couldn't get the van up, so had to ask for a flat pitch. This was in the area bordering the river, which is very shaded and cooler, not always an advantage, but the site was quite busy so not many alternatives.
On our return, there were a number of groups of young people camped in tents which meant the site was pretty full, but the new improved sanitary facilities coped very well, and the cleaners were kept busy.
The site have reopened the door in the far corner of the site which leads to the river, it has a security code. Very convenient for taking the riverside path into the town, and saves the rather rough (and dark at night) path round to the front entrance.

Stayed two nights having been here some years ago. Access was good, Reception was very friendly and most helpful in allocating a large pitch for our caravan.
Great site for walking into Chartres and it’s amazing light show but do remember to take a torch.
As reflected in other reviews this is a site on the up, our only criticism was the scarcity of fresh water taps, hopefully this will be dealt with.
There is a supermarket less than five minutes away by car.

This site was better than expected: a good new sanitation block that was large and clean,
Friendly staff, a good leisure room,
Good refuse area and, critically, located directly on the river weaving its way into Chartres,
1 mile from the spectacular cathedral.

We'd heard that the campsite name had changed so made a visit hoping that other changes had been made. And found a great refurbished sanitary block.
The M/F toilets are now in separate rooms, the shower and basin room is still mixed but there are lots more cubicles now.
Some of the pitches now have all weather matting to protect them, and a new MH service area was being built across from reception. They seem to be doing bike hire now too.
A food van was there for 2 of our nights, we didn't use it.
Very pleasant young people in reception.

This is our second visit to this site and improvements are ongoing however certain areas still need attention.
It's a very convenient site to visit the historic town of Chartres and only takes about 15/20 minutes to walk into.
In May the site filled up as the afternoon progressed and by evening it was very busy.
The facilities block has been refurbished internally and now the external needs to done soon as it looks quite shabby.
Would still recommend this site as a stopover to visit Chartres.

This site is good for a stopover. It is set in woodland and there are good sized spaces. However the downside is the unfriendly welcome and lack of interest in helping the camper. The sanitary facilities were inadequate badly needing an upgrade. The shower block was shared by both men and women and the water was barely warm, similarly with the washing up sinks. Water points that worked were hard to find. Would avoid at busy times if at all possible.
