What can I say. What a lovely site. Every thing was clean and tidy. Caravan pitches was a good size. The only down side was the main road, very noisy even into the night and a dog barking most of the day
Didn't like where the bar was in a polytunnel, yes a polly tunnel how strange
We wont be going back due to the road noise

On arrival greeted and shown to pitch. Very large pitch and quite private from sides. My dog made welcome and a nice cool walking area. Facilities clean, washing up area with washing machine. Waste disposal for caravans. Never got to try the bar as could not leave dog. A very pleasing site and although near main rd was reasonably quite.
Overall a very nice site. With a nice little pool for children
If one gripe maybe another shower.
Will definitely go back.
Enjoyed a great week

Visited this site mid-week and we were allowed to pitch wherever we wanted. Some pitches were laid out with hedges, some together. However, it certainly lives up to its name of Parklands - well laid out with lovely trees and shrubs.
Didn't use the swimming pool but it was in use and it seemed that one family stayed there all day!
Agree with other reviews that showers/toilets could do with some tlc. However, adequate low season as long as the site is not too busy with tents.
Small shop, rang bell for service. Bar not open so can't comment.
Busy road mostly during the day. Site very central for Wisbech, Sandringham and the coast.
Definitely recommended.

Visited this campsite over a long weekend the actual camping pitches are very well laid out and spacious had no problems with that.
The drive in to the campsite we were a bit worried as it looked very over grown and a bit tatty (needs some tlc in that area)
The bar area needs a lot of work done on it as it has broken and rotting picnic benches for people to sit on if they want to drink outside while the children play on the park. The area around this is very overgrown with stinging nettles and weeds etc.
The washrooms were acceptable - only 2 showers each in mens and womens which I would think would be very busy in high season and only one mirror on the wall over the hand drier I would of thought it would be better having one over each sink.
To be fair we had a nice weekend and this site could be a haven if it had some tlc spent on it. We are leisure bikers and we didn't use our bikes as the road you have to pull out on looks like the most dangerous road in Britain so couldn't go out for a bike ride. Small pool but very good

Great site just up the road from us, had a visit to try out a site that was so close and once we got through the gate we could have been anywhere,
The pool was amazing, (very warm for an outdoor pool). The play area was also very good for both our girls to use.
The bar although only open on fri/sat night was good but didn't miss it the other nights we were here.
The pitch was huge enough room to get 3 tents our size on, (we have a huge tent) well marked out with hedges and we were led to it on arrival.
There is a small dog walk which was ample for our dogs.
The shop had the basics in, there is also a takeaway food service which we didn't use but were told by other campers was very good.
The only downside was we had visitors for a bbq and they were charged £5 each to come on site & there is a bit of traffic noise from the busy road next to it.
All in all a very good site which we will definitely use again

We stayed at this site on 31st of July 2012 with two small children, we only booked after reading good reviews on this website. I found the place drab and dated. It is next to the main road that is very busy and traffic starts early in the morning. There's an electricity pylon running through the middle of the campsite which looks very unsightly.
The children's play area and the entrance driveway is also unsightly, these areas need a good clear out and tidy up. Half of the site got flooded when it rained

We have just got back after 10 days at Parklands. Although the place itself is lovely the pitches are huge (will accommodate the biggest of tents ) and each pitch is separated by a little hedge, great idea.
The wardens in pitch 1 were a lovely couple, very friendly, But the site is not a child friendly site. Our grandchildren were told off for playing with a football and were also told off at first for riding round on there bikes but they were left alone after a while because the children just kept riding round.
The laundry facilities is one washing machine which is underneath the one and only washing up sink not enough for 58 pitches, there seems to be a washing up sink in the shower block but I was in there when someone was washing up in this sink and she was told the sink was not for that, goodness knows what that sink is for.
It was nice having 3 big super markets (Asda Tesco and Morrisons all within 4 miles and a launderette in Wisbech.
There is a games room on site But its in the bar area and that only opens Friday and Saturday nights, so nothing really for the older children to do apart from swimming, they really enjoyed that, The pool area was kept in good order.
Great site if you don't have children

I don't even know why I have never reviewed Parklands before!
We first visited Parklands in the beginning of summer 2011, initially as just a few nights stop to test what was our then new van, we stayed a few times again, and now a little under a year after that we have the caravan on a seasonal pitch. The site, is always clean, well maintained and amazingly friendly.
All of the pitches are large and level, making it easy to pitch up, and everyone is led individually to their pitch. This proved to be very helpful.
Facilities on the site are well maintained, the shower blocks are regularly cleaned, even at busier times (bank holidays) the owners and wardens keep the facilities clean. The heated outdoor swimming pool is always clean and the area round the pool is also kept well. As a regular in the pool (come rain or shine) I have to say there is nothing I can fault about it. The children's play areas have been improved greatly since last summer with facilities for younger and older children.
The site shop and Bar are very well priced, also the take-away and breakfast bar are also very handy and again not expensive at all. Everyone is very helpful at all times, and when in the bar, or just around the site there is a great friendly atmosphere, with staff, other seasonal pitches and generally those who stay on site.
With 3 supermarkets (Asda, Morrisons, Tesco) and the small shopping town of Wisbech under 20 mins drive away and Peterborough and Kings Lynn not too far the site is in a great location.
With many weekend activities (Easter, jubilee) which we have had the pleasure of taking part in and helping to organise, and many more to come we hope that others enjoy Parklands as much as we do.
We really really enjoy our times at Parklands, being able to relax in a great atmosphere, have the dogs with us, and allow children to play around the site, in front of the van and at the play area with others and feel safe.

I am delighted to offer a review of this outstanding park, where we stayed over the Diamond Jubilee Bank Holiday Weekend.
The park is situated some 5 miles from Wisbech where there are a number of supermarkets, independent shops, a cinema, theatre and numerous bars, restaurants and take aways.
Parklands itself is a quiet, friendly, family run park. You are welcomed at the reception which doubles as a shop selling the basics; bread, milk, eggs, biscuits, squashes etc.
It is worth mentioning at this point that the shop prices are very competitive, and a pleasant surprise given some of our experiences in the past when we have tried to purchase from park shops.
We were personally led to our individual plot, and were briefly described the facilities and their locations.
The facilities include a heated outdoor pool, kids play area, pitch and putt course, family bar that has darts, pool and table football, and there is a wooded dog walking area to the perimeter. There is also a takeaway facility where you can order burgers, fish chips etc and have them delivered to your plot in the early evening. Again the value was excellent.
The toilet blocks were well maintained and the showers hot whenever we used them.
Due to the Bank Holiday, there were a number of events that we were invited to. We were told that we were welcome at the events, but we were not in any way pressurised to attend, a sentiment that we appreciated.
The Cream tea afternoon was £1 per adult, and the kids were free and enjoyed a drink and cake.
We also enjoyed the Jubilee street party at £2 per child which included a large party lunch, party games, and a china commemorative mug. The Monday saw a barbecue afternoon at £1. 50 per adult for a quality burger and hot dog and 50p for the kids. Like I say, these people are not out to pick your pocket.
There was also a games evening including darts and pool.
The park has a number of seasonal pitch holders who are actively involved in generating activities in the park, and as such they tend to be like minded people not driven by making as much money as they can. This, as I have intimated before, can also be said of the parks owners.
Our overriding feeling was being invited to a friends home, relaxed and untroubled. The kids enjoyed making friends with the well behaved children on the site, and whilst we are more conservative as adults it was easy to meet people and get as involved as you wanted to.
One thing to point out is the exceptional value breakfasts that are available at weekends. A bacon or sausage baguette is just 80p, or you can double up at 1. 40. All freshly cooked and delicious. At these prices why bother to cook and wash up?
All in all we agreed as a family that this is the park we have long been searching for.
Friendly, clean, well priced, not commercial, and with enough activities to keep the family entertained. It felt a bit like Darling Buds of May stuff to me, but I am a romantic at heart.
We will definitely be returning, the owners deserve this to be a success, and I would encourage visitors whether in a tent or van to visit this little gem, but make sure you leave a pitch spare for us please.

This is a lovely level site with hedges between pitches and lots of trees around the site - with a little more care and attention to details this could be a wonderful site.
Hedges needed cutting, swimming pool although it looked clean there was a brown mucky line around the top, and the toilets and showers needed a good bit of loving care, no toilet roll in two of the ladies from Friday afternoon until Saturday afternoon! - the gents showers were apparently very small as well although the ladies shower rooms were ok bar the cleanliness.
They have a club room in a polly tunnel with marquee cover but it was fine and we were lucking enough to go when there was a rally on and so there was entertainment every night over the long weekend.
They have a shop and an takeaway order point in the shop/reception also a breakfast bar open in the mornings from 8.30-10.30 selling bacon rolls etc. We did not try any of the food so I cannot report.
There is also a picnic table area, children's play area and a putting green. The play area was for smaller children but did have a lot of gravel on the floor too so I thought that was not perfectly safe.
Dogs are allowed on site and there is a dog walk however we have two dogs and it is £2.50 per dog per night so it makes the price very expensive for us the pitch+ the 2 of us with eletric was £16.60 that was for mid season.
The site also needs a bit more planing with the layout as there is a wide path of grass down from the toilets by the pool so you think you can walk down it to your caravan and then it ends with other peoples pitches that complain if you walk on them!
Its not perfectly safe to walk up the road off site as it is a busy road with no path. However about 2-300 yards up the road is a pub that seems popular and a public footpath down by the river.
About four miles away in Sutton Bridge and if you go there across the bridge and then turn left go as far down the road as you can go with the river on your left and park in a picnic area you can walk on the Peter Scott walk out towards the wash. You never get near the sea because of marsh land but you do see lots of sea birds.
It was not all bad and perhaps was not up to their usual cleanliness standard because they were almost full up. We holidayed with two other caravans for the first time ever and we had wonderful weather and a wonderful time.
