Booked a week at Parklands this week as we found their website looked good, play area for kids, heated outdoor pool, spa, bar and take away on site with individual pitches separated by hedges!
Arrived on Sat, site wardens were nice enough to show us to our pitch and explain where everything was.
Woken every day by 5 am from nearby road noise, pigeons fighting and screaming in the trees behind us, chainsaws in nearby fields, electric pylon above site which buzzes when damp ! Toilets are advertised as modern! Nope- portable cabin with 1 mirror between 2 sinks and no shaver socket- 1 plug socket next to door - no good for anything! Ladies the same!
Heated pool! Nope - cold and quite small - not secure from children either as my 5 yr old got into the pool area and fell in the deep end- luckily one of the owners was in the pool at the time and lifted her out! my eldest-8yrs had a walkie talkie so we can be in contact when out of site, she called me straight away and I was there in seconds but dread to think if she had got in there on her own!
Spa- broken! Bar- old anderson shelter with a pool table ping pong and a small dance floor!
Kids play area pretty small and old climbing frame with chute.

Just arrived back from parklands.
Great site level pitches with pool and bar as for the directions downloaded of uk campsites when you come to the last direction on the map the site is on the left not the right and as got a concealed entrance beware as you may go past.
Right back to the site as I said good little site with loads of potential down side is the warden is getting on a bit and does not to have a lot of time for the kids the owners were great and had plenty of time for you.
On the down side is as the owners have got full time jobs it falls on the warden to open the shop but you have to ask them its no trouble and they will always oblige the other down side is teenage kids gets a bit lively sometimes I personally think adults should be in a separate site
Having said this it as been a great time

This was our second outing in the camping world, We arrived to be escorted to our pitch (No 19) by the park warden, he pointed out the location of the bar / play area and the dog walk area. Our pitch was about 10 x 10M and ideally located next to the water tap.
The swimming pool was delightful, especially after putting the tent up in the hot midday sun. The pool area looks much larger on their website, but was perfectly fine for our 3 boys.
There is a bar and take-away, neither of which we used, but looked ok. The children's play area was only suited to younger children and the 9 hole putting green was free; it passed some time, but wouldn't challenge the professional golfer!
The shop hours are quite restricted, but the resident wardens were always happy to open up. The nearest shops are in Wisbech (about 5 miles away).
The toilet block is quite basic and clean; the gents has 2 showers and 2 toilets, on the first day there wasn't any hot water, but this was fixed the following day.
The campsite has a 'silence' rule after 11pm, but on our 2nd night, some of the other guests decided to stay up til after 2.30am getting drunk and being as noisy as they wanted. By 1.30am, I'd had enough and asked them politely to be quiet, to no avail. Fortunately, they left the following day, otherwise we would have.
In general, the campsite was pleasant and well maintained. It's not really suitable for older children, due to the lack of amenities for that age group. The only other factor affecting the site is the road noise, it's not a motorway, but always sounds busy.
It was nice to try the site, but we'll be looking elsewhere for a site with more facilities for the older children.
Thanks Parklands.

First time used a non caravan and camping site, as friends we were with said that other sites were just as good.
The pitches were nice sized and easily marked by the hedges, the toilets were clean, however only two showers in the ladies, and no family room.
Also as there was only one dishwashing sink, I did go to the toilets to find a gentleman in there washing up, which was rather unpleasant.
The play area was disappointing, although the children did make use of the pool, although as others have said it is rather small.
The pylon was unsightly and also hummed all night, and the music from the club was rather loud and so was the generator for the heater as we were unlucky to be backing onto it.
Unfortunately the wardens seemed bored of the whole thing and were very picky and moaned about the children riding their bikes and playing, they even reduced my eldest daughter to tears.
Will not be going back, will stick with camping and caravan sites in future.

Didn't know what to expect as this was our first outing. Site could do with a sign when approaching from Wisbech. We were on top of the site, before we realised we had to turn.
Pitches we large, plenty of room for the havana 6 and still able to park the car next to it.
Good clean swimming pool, heated as well.
Toilet block could do with being larger, though it was very clean and cleaned twice a day. Does have a bar but only open friday and saturday night.
Site is very clean and tidy. We had electrical hook up, no problems with that, My only bug with the site is that there is a great big plyon near the toilet block, it was damp on saturday morning so it was crackling like hell.
YES I would return, speaking to others they had stayed longer than planned.
Asda about 2 miles away, the site does do a takeaway menu.
The cup of tea was great while erecting the tent.
I had problems with my electrical extenstion, again with the help of John I was sorted.
Newspaper delivered both saturday and sunday morning.
Run by a lovely family. Wardens were very friendly also.

Lovely little site, well maintained, club house, shop (very basic and not always open, but then just knock on the manages door)small heated pool, nice sized plots that are separated by hedges. There is nothing around the site but just get in your car and go and explore. Asda is a 10 minute drive way.
All in all we had a fantastic time here, however I do have two gripes, the first is that for the whole site there is only ONE sink for washing up which does not have a light, so eat and clean up before dark or get someone to hold a torch for you. Secondly, the play area for the children is aimed at young children, my two are 10 and 12 and were to say the least very disappointed, but hey ho we just got the cricket and rounder set out - needed the exercise :0)

Just returned from an 8 night stay at this lovely little site. It is a very friendly welcoming place and the owners, their family and site wardens couldn't be more helpful. The lovely level site is spotlessly clean,as are the toilet and showers. The pool was warm and was used quite a lot. It is a site we would have no hesitation in recommending, and we will certainly visit again. We particularly liked the small hedges dividing the pitches as everyone had their own space. Other nice touches were having a daily paper, or pre-ordered take aways delivered to your pitch.
As the present owners only started this year, they are doing a great job, and the very best of luck to them.

Just got back from spending a brilliant 8 days at the site(we only booked for 7 but liked it so much stayed for an extra night).
The site is well set out and pitches are generous in size(car at side of van, then van with awning and still room left).
The site is family run and they look after you as though you are part of the family.
There is nothing we can add to the other comments about the shower and toilet block apart from the fact the staff are always doing there best to keep them clean, even though some campers were trying to flood them occasionally.
The take away food which is delivered to your pitch is excellent, during the week we tried pizza and the exceptional chicken curry, both were excellent value for money.
The putting green is a challenging 9 hole course and there are darts, table tennis and a pool table in the bar area in which children are very welcome.
The swimming pool is an ideal size for the size of the site, even though we had a brilliant week of sunny weather it was never full.
We will be quite happy to revisit again.

Stayed at this site for 5 nights with friends on 2 adjacent pitches. Unfortunately the hedge between our pitches was full of wasps. We must have trapped and killed over 200 and they just kept coming. Staff were informed but didn't come and have a look and were not really interested. Friends had to leave a night early as their toddler was stung twice on the face and they'd had enough.
The play area was aimed at very young children and was situated a long way from the pitches and out of sight. Great if you don't want to listen to kids having fun. Not so great if your kids want to play and you're not keen on sitting at the play area all day.
Cant fault the toilets and showers, these were clean and showers were very hot. Floor was mopped often. Although a mirror over the sinks would have been useful. Behind the door maybe not the best place to stand and do your hair!
The pool was lovely, not as big as the photos on the website would suggest but we all had fun in there and it was always clean.
There was a short dog walk which wasn't big enough for off lead exercise.
Overall the site is ok, but could be so much better. Mainly by having another play area at the other end of the site.

We have just returned from a weekend with some friends and our children. We do tend to read reviews before booking sites and were quite impressed with recent reviews and also the description on the sites own website.
We arrived on fri afternoon and were shown to our pitch which was as stated a good size, there were a number of empty pitches near us so all seemed very quiet, after sitting out in the evening we went to bed at about 10. 45pm, other people on site were still awake and quite noisy with music etc but it didn't bother us as we knew they were there on holiday to enjoy themselves.
On sat we were playing games with the children away from all the newly arrived tents and caravans but were told (not asked) that we had to move and if we damaged the hedges we would be asked to leave the site, the lady could've worded things a lot better.
Sat evening we sat playing card games in the tent with the children and as soon as it got to 11 o'clock were told by the site warden there had been complaints about us being too noisy, we went to bed but there were still people outsite their caravans being noisy after that time, I wonder if they were told to be quiet as well.
Dogs apparently were meant to be kept on leads but on a number of occasions we had them sniffing around us and our table, also people were letting them off leads in the area we were told not to play in and were letting them wee over the hedges that we were told not to damage.
We didn't think the shop was very well stocked, no bread on a saturday for example.
There were a number of occasions when going to the toilet we found the loo roll had run out again.
The swimming pool did look quite new and clean but there was no way our party of 8 could've fit in there at the same time.
We were glad we didn't have young children with us as we felt that the play area left a lot to be desired.
The putting green didn't look usable perhaps the lawn mover is out of action.
Didn't realise just how much traffic noise there would be.
Overall we had a good weekend because of the friends we were with but would not want to return there again.
