We have just had a fantastic week on this quiet well kept site the toilet block is immaculate and the owners are very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this if you are looking for a quiet relaxing break. It is close to the lovely little market town of Bedale where you can purchase virtually everything. Plenty of pubs nearby that serve food so all in all it is the ideal location Will definitely be going back.

Just had a long weekend at this site and as were new to vanning, we were over the moon about the pitch and position, would def pay another visit. Good walks for the dog, very clean site.
As for the shower/toilet block well we have paid a great deal more in hotels and not been up to this standard, Well done to the owners.
Best thing to do about a tv signal is leave the tv at home? (its amazing what you can talk about).

We have just had a lovely 3 night stay at this quiet, well looked after adults only site.
We had a warm welcome from the wardens the toilet block was very clean with a supply of emergency toiletries.
There are lots of good dog walking areas around the fishing lakes and camp site.
The fishing was excellent had 2 days on the lake and got lots of carp. We had a lovely time and would certainly visit again.
Highly recommended.

We have just had a lovely 4 night stay at this quiet, well looked after site. We would recommend this site to anyone.
The hard standing pitch we were on was level, though under the tree line caused some problems for our tv. When we enquired about the tv reception the staff on site said that we could place our satellite dish through the trees, problem. (we were given the option of moving pitches if the we still had a problem because the grass pitches are all open so it leaves room for a better signal on digital and satellite tv. )
The toilet block was small but immaculately clean. We never had to wait though I can see at busy times you would have to be willing to use your ow facilities sometimes.
The fishing was good on the smaller pond. (the carp pond is closed at the moment. )
The staff and owners are very friendly and will do what they can to help. We would definitely visit this site again.

We booked the week prior to the August Bank holiday at Burtree House. We were given a friendly welcome and told where our pitch was. As you enter the site you are in the seasonal pitch area, we went round this part of the site behind the tree line to the touring area.
Our pitch was of a good size but slightly sloping so we did need to lift one side with a ramp.
TV reception was poor and often pixelated; unfortunately because of the position of the touring field we could not use our satellite dish due to the high tree line, a point worth noting.
The toilet and shower facilities are clean, if compact, although the bottom edges of the shower was showing signs of heavy use. The shower is of the “push button” variety with a non-adjustable spray head, there is no temperature control and the spray pressure is poor, so much so that on every occasion I managed to head butt the wall and pipe when trying to rinse off soap. Also note that (gents) there is only one urinal, one private toilet and one shower and two washbasins. It was important to judge your “ablutions time” to avoid queuing. If the site was full and the seasonal pitches in use then the facilities would, in my view, be totally inadequate.
The dog walk area is OK and there is an enclosed stretch where you can exercise your dog(s) without a lead if you wish.
The chemical toilet disposal is one of the cleanest and most practical I have ever used and the grey water disposal was on a level grate area, making emptying simple.
Fishing: The nearest lake is the match/pleasure lake which produces a steady catch of small fish, skimmers, carp etc. This is still a reasonable hike from the touring area with your gear.
The Carp Lake is about one third of a mile down a track and you can park by the access gate. A car is essential, if like me you have a session full of kit. I also used my barrow to get to my chosen swim. I consider myself to be a good fisherman, having been told that this lake was hard to fish. Hard was an understatement, I fished two full single day sessions and only managed to catch a skimmer (quite possibly the same one each day). Carp were nowhere to be seen, more local information may well have been useful to the visiting fisherman!
There are some good pubs and restaurants nearby, the Fox and Hounds being excellent value.
Overall experience was OK, the site is clean and generally well maintained, more facilities would be of benefit as would more carp in the carp lake

Stayed for a week in poor weather, but had the most relaxing time. The views and surrounding area are fabulous. The pictures of the site do not do it justice. It is so well kept, and spotlessly clean.
There is loads to do in the surrounding areas, and lots of walks off the site particularly around the fishing lakes(the dog walk on site is very short, but that really doesn't matter).
It's very easy to find and to access, with flat pitches. The site is run by very friendly people who cannot do enough for you. We will definitely go again.

Just back from 3 nights at this small adult only site, which we selected as a result of reading the excellent reviews on this web site. The welcome from the lady warden was friendly and the book in quick & easy. We drove through the first field which is occupied by seasonal touring vans to the touring field behind and we had been allocated a large, flat, pea gravel hard standing with EHU, water & waste bins adjacent & handy. The toilet block, situated in the first field was warm and spotlessly clean. There is only 1 urinal, 1 toilet & 1 shower in the gents, and 2 toilets & a shower in the ladies, but during the time we were there we never had to queue. There is also a similar facility for the disabled which I saw was regularly used by able bodied residents. We had our dog with us and the nearby dog walk around the fishing lakes was excellent. The site is very quiet & peaceful and just what we required.
The campsite is easy to find, just follow the directions on their web site, and is about 3 miles outside Bedale on the road towards Leyburn.
We visited both these market towns & nearby Richmond & Masham during our stay and thoroughly enjoyed it.
All in all a very enjoyable long weekend and one which we would repeat in the future.

This is a beautiful quiet site. We were made to feel very welcome by the owners.
The site is well arranged and extremely clean and tidy. Nothing was too much trouble even to the extent of supplying complimentary toiletries in the toilet block in case you had forgotten anything.
The toilets and showers were absolutely spotless and could not be faulted. The fishing was excellent with a choice of lakes. We had a lovely time and would certainly visit again. Highly recommended.

This is a small mainly seasonal site but with a separate touring area which is fully serviced. Pitches are level and hard standing.
The touring area is ADULTS ONLY.
The welcome could not be better and the toilets are spotless and heated so much so they at times could be described as too warm. They have a supply of emergency toiletries i. E. Toothbrushes etc inside the toilet block.
There are good dog walking areas around the fishing lakes.
It is a 5 - 10 minute walk to the nearest bus stop and about 20 minutes into Bedale which has all the amenities that one would require.

This is one of the friendliest sites that we have ever visited - not only the management but also all other site users - It was a pleasure to visit.
The facilities were really clean and tidy.
The walks round the fishing lakes were nice - a gentle stroll. There are no long walks direct from the site.
The weekend we visited saw the site host a Garden Party in aid of the Air Ambulance. Afternoon tea was served and a great time was had by all. A great deal of time and effort went into making the event a great success and sums up the whole ethos of the site and the people who run it.
They are planning another charity event either in May or Mid Summer next year - worth looking out for!
