Absolutely amazing
So lovely for the kids just to play by the river
Nice pub just a short walk away
Facilities were clean and adequate and you are allowed to have a small fire which makes the perfect touch for a camping trip

We absolutely love this campsite. Second visit here just the two of us and are bringing a larger group of friends down later this month.
We went during a heat wave and the river was absolutely lovely to have a dip in.
There is a lovely circular stepping stones walk you can do straight from the campsite, which is a great outdoor adventure!
Owner is welcoming and friendly and it’s a lovely chill atmosphere.
Would recommend bringing along some insect repellent for the evenings though!

What a find! We are so glad we were recommended Huccaby Farm, it’s a back to basics (as close to wild camping as you can get these days) field set in the heart of the moor with a backdrop to die for.
The river was the winner at this campsite, you can sit in your tent / campervan and look out to the river, sit by the fire and listen to the water run over the rocks.
There are pits in the ground for you to have a fire, I saw a few around.
The entrance is tight so you will not get in if you have a long wheel base camper/motor home. Micro campers fine, SWB VW for example. We have an estate car and it was fine.
Owner comes round in the PM to take payment, a very fair price of £10 per adult and £5 per child. Dogs free & welcome!
There are showers & toilets but take note that these are not close to the field, they are a short walk up hill to the farm house. The toilets & shower are clean and there is running hot water for hand washing and washing up.
This site would not be suitable if you have mobility issues UNLESS you have your own WC on board. The toilet being so far was the only downfall but only an issue in the middle of the night.
The customer service was efficient, I was emailed back quickly and the owner was friendly.
Be sure to check local pub opening times if you are thinking of relying on one. The closest we found was in Princetown and it was a wonderful pub but we had to drive. There is a pub near the campsite but it was closed when we got there.
We will be back. This place is a real find.

We had a fantastic time - our second trip here and we loved every minute.
The river is always a great attraction for our family.
The only problem we had this time was a dog who raided our kitchen and then hung around for hours afterwards, very friendly and the kids loved him however! I don't know if the dog belonged to the farm or another camper.
Definitely recommend this campsite.
Not sure whether there were any showers available, but there is always the river in which to get clean!

Loved the location of the farm, was lovely seeing the animals roam free. Owner lady was lovely, friendly and very helpful.
Showers/toilets were very clean, didn’t have to queue for either.
Site is on a slope so you have to pick your spot carefully!
Grass could have done with being shorter as the weather was wet and Misty so was constantly either walking around with wet shoes or wearing wellies!

Loved the riverside location,
Felt isolated but in a good way
Toilet is tricky to get to, I'd say not possibly with very young children or disabled people
We loved it though.

A beautiful and informal site on the banks of the river Dart.
No need to book, just turn up and the owner collects the fee each evening.
Huccaby is one of the best hidden gems on Dartmoor and the site gives perfect access to these most beautiful surroundings.
Plentiful fire pits create a wonderful communal spirit.
Bring your own fire wood

Awesome site. Very peaceful, moorland and river spectacular.
Be mindful of the entrance, which won't be wide enough for all vehicles.
We have a Peugeot auto sleeper and just made it through after the owner kindly removed the gate.
Will definitely go again.
