Just had a brilliant 10 night stay at Barleywod CL. On arrival to the site the entrance is very easy to navigate, as when you turn off the main road on to the lane it is just like one continuous curve into through the main gate.
Once you are through the main gate there is plenty of room to manoeuvre, when we arrived there was a big notice board with our name and what pitch number we had been allocated.
The pitches are all grass and fairly level needing minor adjustment to get the Caravan level. Each Pitch is huge loads of room between each Caravan and the pitches are clearly marked. Each pitch has EHU, Water and Grey Waste Drain, but everyone was just connecting a long hose to the grey waste to keep the Trees and Shrubs watered in the hot weather.
Once we had got set up Lorna and David the CL owners came to welcome us and give us a tour of the site and its facilities. There are 2 Toilets and Showers that are kept very clean, the info room has a Washing Machine and Tumble Dryer that people staying on the CL can use.
Also in theInfo Room are 2 Freezers where you can buy Cake which is normally half a Victoria Sponge Cake £5, Crumbles, Ice Creams, Ice Cubes, Milk, etc etc. They also have their own free range Hens where you can also get your eggs 6 for £150 and you can tell they are Free Range as the Yolks are a Darker Yellow.
There is also bottled Beer you can purchase too, inside the info room there is a Sofa and a Television along with books and DVD's.
If you need to do any washing its £2 a wash but make sure you have washing Powder, Gel or Tabs, there is a big Clothes Airer to hang your washing out if you don't want to use the Tumble Dryer. There is an Elsan point that is kept very clean too,
The owners are very friendly and make time to chat or if there is anything you need then they are more than willing to help.
There is a Dog walk off site which is down the country lane running along the side of the CL which is also shaded, great for when it gets too hot.
Almost forgot on each pitch there is a Picnic Table with an Umbrella which I think is a nice touch. You can see why this CL gets booked up really quick and they have a lot of repeat customers.
The pitch fees are £18 Per Night but during winter there is a £3 per night supplement for the Electricity which is understandable and very Fair. I have no problem recommending Barleywood CL it is a real Gem the owners take a lot of pride in its appearance, if you don't fancy bringing your Caravan there is a Shepherds Hut to Hire with its own Jacuzzi and a POD you can hire Too.

What a fantastic Cl site, Lorna and David are really nice and made us feel very welcome. The Caravan site is beautiful and well maintained, the showers and toilets are very clean although we didn't use the showers on site.
The information room is well stocked if you fancy Cake or a Crumble as well as other goodies including Beer and fresh eggs from their hens.
There is plenty of space between each of the pitches and each pitch has EHU, Water and a drain, there is also a night light attached to a post on the pitches.
Arrival time is from Noon onwards and if for some reason no one is about there is a notice board outside the information room with your name and pitch number.
Lorna gave us a tour of the site and informed us about all the facilities and where we could walk the dog and some of the local places to visit.
This place is always booked up and you can see why at the moment they are taking bookings for 2025. Pitch fees are £18 and at the time of booking you pay a £25 deposit, to book a pitch on this wonderful site you do have to be a member of the Caravan and Motorhome Club.
I would highly recommend this CL site, we have already booked 3 return visits.

Only problem TV reception poor, glad we had some CD.
Thanks Bern & Angie,

Well… this site is an ultimate favourite of ours … we arrive, smile at the owners, set up for our stay and … RELAX!
It’s fabulous… I can’t recommend this site enough.
The cabin has everything you to need … a washing machine, a clothes line, information about the area, a freezer with all sorts of goodies to purchase… maybe even some necessaries like milk!
A kettle, a toaster and loads more! Two en-suite toilets /shower facilities … I’m so at home here
So well placed. Easy to access and close to Fakenham and Wells next the Sea/ Holkam// Burnham on Sea/ Brancaster … just love this site

This is our second stay at this fabulous site. Both times we have been lucky to get on as it is usually booked up well in advance.
The attention to detail of what may be needed when staying there is incredible. Water on each pitch.
£18/night includes your first £3 of electric use and then metered there after. Given the cost of electricity at the moment we totally understand this needs to be. Compared to another site we are visiting over Easter the electric metre is far less at Barleywood.
The site has two lovely and spotless clean toilet and shower units. Wi-Fi is free to use. A small cosy hut with washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave and kettle. Fridges and freezer stocked with regular every day essentials including bags of sweet treats and ice creams 😋.
The location is perfect to explore north Norfolk with plenty of beaches less than 10 miles away, Sandringham, Holkham Hall all within a short travelling distance.
We love it here. Big thank you to Lorna and David for their lovely site & lovely welcome x

Outstanding.
We have known of this site for some years but have never once been able to get a booking until now. We now understand why. A good sized pitching area, slightly sloping very well drained ground.
Little things that matter were nice to see, wooden seats and picnic tables, lots of bird feeders in the trees. All pitches were fully serviced with metered ehu.
The facilities make this site stand out from the norm. Two showers / toilets were built and furnished to hotel standards, warm too.
There was a wooden summer house that was fully fitted with every kind of amenity, wall mounted TV with a large selection of DVD’s, sofa and kitchen area with microwave and kettle and washing up sink.
One large freezer full of things you may run out of plus a selection of ready meals. Two fridges full of goodies. Everything was priced individually and was left to the honesty of members to pay. All in all, as others have said, an outstanding place to stay.
The only downside for some may be the noise from military jets who exercise in the area but this can also be of interest.
At the time of our visit nightly fees were £18 pn which included £3 worth of electric, the rest being metered and charged by a final meter reading on departure.
We will most certainly return to this cl and area.
