This is the most friendly welcoming and relaxed site we've ever stayed on. This might be down to the high number of lovely Dutch folk using the site.
The owner is out and about a lot and closely manages the site, which we liked.
The facilities are basic but more than adequate. The site is quite small so its only a few paces to the toilets showers etc.
It was a busy site with lots going on and a busy road next door, but we still managed to really chill out.
The pool is of course a huge bonus and meant we could just lounge around but keep the kids happy too - Result! The swing and slide added to this too.
We found the nearest pub a bit too far away and too expensive (but excellent).

This site is lovely, the pitches are spacious and well kept. The toilet blocks are clean but basic but could benefit from a revamp as I think the site would them be worthy of a 4* campsite. There's a slide a swing for the kids and a nice pool that is very cold. I really liked the campsite as a whole and cant really complain about anything, but I do think that the owner would benefit from a rules board stating things like no noise after 10, 10am departures. etc. as there isn't anything anywhere to tell you what time to leave. I would also try and pay the owner when you arrive as we didn't and he then came over 9.30am and was writing down what we owe and it ended up more than he first said.

Fabulous site!
We stayed for three nights and enjoyed every minute of it.
Excellent site, very quiet with well spaced pitches, offering a good level of privacy. The toilet block is good and relatively basic, with three showers in the ladies and two in the gents.
Good swimming pool, which the children enjoyed.
The owner is a very nice chap, extremely friendly and helpful, a pleasure to deal with.
Good local attractions, we visited Longleat and Wookey Hole, both within a reasonable distance.
I would highly recommend this site; we have only just returned and are already looking forward to our next visit.

We (2 adults) stayed at this site for 3 nights (Sunday, Monday & Tuesday) in June.
We arrived around 6pm on the Sunday night and there was nobody around so in the absence of guidance picked somewhere at random to pitch; later on the owner came out to greet us and did warn us that we were close to the main road so may experience some traffic noise. This was nothing compared to the racket made by the circling helicopters every night, however! We suspect this was due to being close to an MOD base.
The site itself was lovely, the grass was well kept and flat and the toilets and showers were fine. No queueing was necessary as there were 3 showers and toilets and 4 sinks in the women's block. Dishwashing facilities were good, and there was a recycling bin for glass bottles. We didn't use the pool so can't comment on that.
The location was great, we easily travelled to Avebury, Silbury Hill, Stonehenge and several local chalk horses, as well as visiting Devizes. The owner was friendly and helpful, making recommendations and providing leaflets for local attractions.
We visited the local pub, The Wiltshire Yeoman, for the Tuesday Steak Night which was excellent quality and value.
Overall an enjoyable stay, despite the noise, and good value for money.

Just returned from a weekend stay here and really enjoyed it. Friendly, helpful owner pointed out directions for local attractions and pubs (note though nearest pub is a mile away and not open all day!). The walking in the area is lovely and the local village, Urchfont, is very picturesque and worth a wander around. There is a very large farm shop with a craft centre opposite the campsite which is very useful.
The campsite facilities are perfectly adequate but a bit dated as others have said. They were clean and serviceable though so no complaints. In fact the showers were free, powerful and hot! The washing up areas came complete with bowls, drainers and cloths & brushes which we'd never experienced before.
Our friends son had a great time playing with the other children and the site seemed very safe for them all. The playground was just a slide and toddler swing but it didn't bother them as there was so much space to run about in and invent their own games.
We were pitched in the field adjoining the road which others have said was too noisy. Whilst it was noisy it didn't stop us from sleeping and we had our own music to distract us during the evening so it was no problem. It was quite nice actually as this is the area that the hens roam about in!
There was a large undercover BBQ area which would have been very useful had it rained and also an outdoor heated swimming pool with a paddling pool next to it. We didn't use the pool as it wasn't quite hot enough but it looked well cared for.
All in all, a very good site and we'll definitely be back.

It's a very nicely kept site, just 3 small fields with about 10 pitches in each, all placed around the edge so as to leave a nice lot of room in the middle for the kids to play etc. The fields were all very flat with beautifully kept grass - ideal for the tents. All of them had EHU by the looks of things although we weren't using them.
You are close to a main road but we honestly didn't notice it whilst we were there and you're far enough away that it's not a danger for the children. Devizes is only a couple of miles down the road and has all the major shops, but its worth noting that there's nothing to speak of on-site. The owner (nice chap) calls a wooden shack his 'shop' but it wasn't open whilst we were there and it seemed little more than a shed with a desk in it.
The site has a very nice outdoor swimming pool which is well kept and really wasn't too cold once you got used to it ;-) We had it all to ourselves so it was a fantastic addition to the site. I should also mention that it has a wall around it so is no danger from roaming children!
There is only a swing and slide for the children. There is an old wooden play thing in one of the other fields but frankly it has seen way better days so probably shouldn't be used. The site was full of children when we were there so they easily amused themselves anyway.
In fact, my only complaint of the site would be that all the facilities (except the swimming pool) seem very tired. The toilets / laundry and open area washing up areas are all there and perfectly functional and clean but could definitely do with bringing up to date.
For £40 for 2 nights (2 adults+2 children) I think its reasonable if you consider the swimming pool addition.
Lots of the people we spoke to were return visitors and I can see why - we'd certainly go back, especially considering the swimming pool.

Had a great time. Had a pitch in the field with the play area and swimming pool which was wonderful for our 7-year old who could play with friends right outside the tent. Yes,there is only a slide and baby-style swing, but it provides a meeting spot, and the middle of each field provides a good spot for communal games. We were also right near the toilets etc, but not in such a way that they intrude or people have to stream past you to get to them - its all quite well laid out. There are at least 5 other fields that I noticed - separated by hedges and some are a little way from the main facilities.
The facilities are good - rarely any queue except for basins at teeth-cleaning time! Hot water great in the mornings, but disappears somewhat by 8pm. Two decent sinks for washing -up, I was lucky not to queue but some had to for perhaps one person.
Allan always available and chatty. He has a freezer in the office for cool blocks.
Swimming pool can only be used with accompanying adult and there was a slight problem here as some older kids were dominating rather and not being appropriately cautioned by parents to be considerate of other users - owner Allan did threaten with closing the pool, but in fact by then the younger kids just left.
You can hear noise from the road, but its not serious. The nearby farmshop offers good supplies but does not open until 10am on a Sunday, so take breakfast supplies!
Our Pitch was a little small - we have a 6-berth tent and there wasn't really proper room for the car beside it - had to put it in at an angle, but putting it in front would have been unsociable to others and would have rather blocked the ability to sit outside.
Site is well placed for seeing both Stonehenge and Bath - do go see the local chalk white horse as well. Don't try eating out in Devizes - very little available. Beware, most pubs in the villages do not do food on a Sunday evening.

Just returned from this very nice site.
The weather was stunning so the outdoor pool was open which kept the 3 children quite for ages.
Site was quite busy but never had to wait for toilets or showers (3 toilets and 2 showers)
Only 5 mins from devizes and all the big shops.
Lovely kept site and owner allan always happy to help.
As some people said only slide and climbing frame on site. But all the children on site were making up there own games and having much more fun.
All in all a good site which we return to.

Stayed here for a four day break initially and stayed an extra night, very clean, small park made up of three fields.Small play area of swing and slide, showers, toilets and washing up facilities are adequate, there is a pool, although not heated was clean and looked after.
Allan does have a freezer for ice blocks, there is a farm shop across the road, the sausages are out of this world. We love this place as its really relaxed, very central for days out and to see those crop circles, we met some lovely people and had an evening socialising around the stone fireplace even Allan and his wife joined in. They do like it to quieten down after 11pm, and those that don't heed to the warnings will be aked to leave.
We like this park so much, we went every month for a long weekend.

Very nice campsite, natural and cared for grass and relaxing atmosphere. The toilet/shower block was a bit too small & overstrained - the campsite was quite busy that day.
We didn't find the advertised 'white horse', but Avebury was not too far away (19 km), Stonehenge is also in convenient driving range (25 km).
