This is a nice small site. The pitches were secluded and we had a great view over the countryside to a 'white horse' on the side of the hill.
The facilities were dated but reasonably clean-adequate when we were there but might be bit overloaded for high season.
Very quiet and if you had kids they could have run about without you worrying.
Very convenient for Stonehenge and Avebury-eating out in Devizes walking along the canal and Devizes even has a little canalside theatre.
The owner was very helpful and relaxed.

A small campsite in a stunning setting. The campsite has several camping areas, all only big enough for 20 units each. Pitches are divided by mature trees and bushes with enough space for your unit, car and an area to cook or sit. Unfortunately there is some road noise but this seemed confined mainly to rush hour traffic, by the end of the week we hardly noticed it. The toilet block is quite dated but functional with three showers and plenty of space and hooks to hang your clothes. No plug sockets for hairdryers. There are two covered dish wash areas as well as a recycle point, waste water and Elsan points. The swimming pool is enclosed by a wall and gate which is locked nightly. Luckily for us we were the only ones to use it all week. The reception does stock a few items, mainly ice creams and toys so not ideal if you run out of basic items. There is a farm shop within walking distance but can work out quite expensive. There is plenty of dog walks over fields which back on to the site, keep an eye out for the resident deer and Barn owls. This is a beautiful little site which never seems to be packed. One well worth a visit.

I have found a little gem on my doorstep here. This site is small and quiet though you do get a bit of road noise. There are 6 small fields with bushes or hedges marking most pitches. The facilities are all in the same block with showers, toilets, laundry and 2 dish-washing areas which were all cleaned regularly. We were very lucky to have the pool open and it was great with a smaller baby pool too. The owner Allan is very helpful and friendly. There are plenty of opportunities for walking along bridle paths and footpaths in the area where you can see deer, rabbits and occasionally owls. You can also book the local Wiggly bus which will run you into Devizes and back. I will definitely be coming back here.

What a great place, you could wash, dry, iron and also dry your hair, and its not a lot to use either. We stayed 3 nights and it was great fun. Swimming pool was not open as it was too cold to go in. Apart from that it was great and cheap. We have booked again for the next weeks coming up.

What a lovely campsite! We arrived (late, thanks to M5 bank holiday traffic), and phoned the owner who showed us to a great pitch straight away. This was on the field to the right directly next to the entrance which has a small climbing frame & was nice and quiet. We pitched very quickly (it was getting dark), and settled down for the night easily as the site was very peaceful. Visited Stonehenge, Avebury, White horses galore etc. All within easy distance of site. Facilities were good, and proprietor always available on mobile if needed when the reception wasn't open. The outdoor pool was sadly covered (it was quite cool), but there is plenty to do for children - swings, slide etc. There are OS maps at the reception which you can borrow, and sweeties etc. For sale - they will also freeze your cool-blocks here. If you need milk or fruit there is a farm shop just across the road, so very handy. It rained for the next 2 days, so we went to Longleat (very pricey for a family of 5!) It hammered down with rain and howled a gale all night on Sunday, and in the morning we woke up to find a large branch balancing on top of our tent, and the field had a new pond in the middle! Never mind, the proprietor made us feel very welcome, and we would definitely go back there again, and have already recommended it to friends.

Lovely site, I really can't think how other comments about the site stand. Clean, friendly, well maintained and a joy to stay at! We have booked for next Easter already! Shame we could not use the pool, but it was too early and the weather too cool. However, nicely laid out with sun chairs, pool and paddling pool for the kiddies. A Safe play area within sight of each pitch, excellent dog walk, or should I say dog fields! The area has nice views and plenty of walks, places to visit include the near by flight of Locks at Devizes. Shopping wise, there are 3 main supermarkets in Devizes which are about 4 miles away. The owner really couldn't do enough to make our stay very enjoyable. With reasonable pitch fee's it made a fantastic weeks break away.

We have just spent Easter at the site, with 8 other fellow Range Rover Register Club members. We were made to feel extremely welcome by the owner. The facilities were clean and freshly painted and more than adequate for our stay. The site itself is very well laid out with mowed lawns with tree divisions. As for the dog walk, our dog was more than happy to spend most of our time there, playing in the fields. We certainly will be returning, and have already booked in for next years meet up with friends.

The site is in a village about 2 miles from where we live, so a great place for our first site in our first caravan! Lydeway is about 6 miles from Caen hill locks on the outskirts of Devizes, which are a very pleasant way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
We set up relatively near the swing and slide which despite being very basic amused our children for hours.
The electric point had seen better days but worked, the toilet block is in need of a complete refurbish. The tap and emptying facilities were very good. We didn't try the washing room, but it seemed to have all the usual machines, albeit quite old ones. The grassy site with tree edges is very pretty.
There is an outdoor pool, but as it was September was closed.
If you want to stay in this area and use it for a base, it's probably fine; but its not what I would call a "destination" site. Having stayed in other sites with better facilities for less money I would say it was a little overpriced.

Very Noisy road (Yes I know that can't be helped) Very dated and unkempt toilets and shower facilities. Plus the worst of all was we arrived late ( as agreed with proprietor) I mean late as in 6pm ish only to find he had let our reservation go and had no spot left. Eventually after much haggling said owner moved a sited caravan for us but then no room for our awning an extra we had already payed for!No fun when you have small children fretful after a long journey!!

We visited the site early august, midweek and we found it to be a small, nice and quiet camping site. Must say we had an outside pitch and it wasn't exactly crowded, but still.
Minor inconvenience: it was a bit further from Devizes (shops, restaurants etc...) than we initially thought it would be. My guess is about 6-7kms.
The facilities on site have known better days, but they work and they are fairly clean. Washer and dryer available at low cost. Actually, overall prices were very reasonable! The warden can be very strict about some rules, which some people found a bit annoying. If you show some goodwill however, he's most helpful and understanding.
The pool (the water temp. is usually under 20°C! There is an indoor pool in Devizes, but it is quite expensive and not at all time available for occasional visitors) and (mini-)playground were an absolute plus for the children.
In short, we can definitely recommend it!
