Lovely holiday on a lovely site. Plenty of space for the three boys to run around/swing/climb safely, and wear themselves out. Small play area for under 5s basic but popular.
Great beaches locally, and plenty to do even on wet days. Ask the owners for local recommendations - really helpful information pack also.
Shower/toilet facilities adequate, would highly recommend using the outdoor shower. Could do with a little more fridge space when the site is busy.
The option of campfires was a big hit, and even when the site was more busy we didn't feel crowded. I'm sure we'll be back.

A beautiful campsite with lots of seclusion. Great walk from site to pub, woods and ponds to entertain and lots of space for cricket. Perfect for our two families with 6 children aged 7 to 15. Would definitely go again. Our weekend felt like a proper holiday.
Only negative would be the washrooms - very small and not particularly clean. Only one set of showers and loos which are at the far end of the site so take a torch! There are a couple of portaloos around the site but these are truly disgusting.

This was my first time camping but my husband and daughter have done it a few times. We are a family of 5, 2 adults 1 teenager and two boys aged 4 and 3.
I found my first experience to be a pleasant one. I enjoyed being surrounded by nature and the kids loved it and the freedom too. The owners are really friendly and made us feel very welcome. We did a lot of exploring as well and loved seeing the frogs and swans.
I would go again.
Thank you

Nethergong really is our Number 1 favourite place to go. It is the only campsite we have returned to more than once (we have notched up 6 visits so far!)and we will continue to return year after year.
There is something so incredibly relaxing about it. This is in part to do with a beautiful location but also has a lot to do with Christine and Jed's wonderfully laid back approach to life. They are extremely helpful, very friendly and have created the perfect camping experience.
We have always camped in the open field so that our children can play in the open space. But they equally love exploring the woods, streams and ponds. We loose them for hours and they can safely go off and explore and especially love the rope swings that were new this year.
There is a great walk you can do around the Nethergong perimeter with an abundance of wildlife to see.
The facilities are excellent. We never have to queue for anything and the recent addition of an 'al-fresco' shower is a real winner. The toilets are kept clean and well stocked (loo rolls / soap etc). There is a huge fridge freezer which is so helpful for keeping food chilled and ice blocks frozen.
I can't say much about places to visit as we tend to go to the campsite and not move for a whole weekend - that's how relaxing it is! But we are fairly local and we would definitely recommend a visit to Whitstable, Broadstairs (Joss Bay) and Canterbury. There is also a great 50 minute walk (slow pace with children!) over fields to a lovely pub called the Gate Inn at Marshside.
I am constantly put off going to campsites who feel they can severely over-charge for everything. As a family of five with a large tent and an extra canopy we would be looking at £35-40 a night at many campsites which I feel is just not justified. Christine and Jed only charge per pitch at a very reasonable £20 a night (plus a small charge for fire wood). If you like peaceful, proper campfire camping at a reasonable price then Nethergong is perfect and that is why I can't wait to go for my 7th visit and many more after that!

We have just spent 5 nights camping here with our 2 girls, aged 4 & 8. Wow! This campsite is fantastic! Lovely peaceful site, big fields with loads of space which are not overcrowded for the children to run around in. Lovely hot showers and clean toilets. Great covered area for washing up. Nice little shop on site. The owners and the members of their family who help them to run the site are incredibly friendly and welcoming and really look after the site whilst leaving everyone alone to enjoy themselves. There is lots to see in the area including some fabulous castles (such as Deal castle) and some beautiful woodland areas and plenty to do on rainy days. I am not a natural camper (although the rest of the family love it), however I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Nethergong. This is a very special place. We will be back!

One word describes this site = fantastic.
We were made to feel welcome and wasn't inundated with rules and regulations. We could camp where we felt comfortable, which we chose the wooded area by the quiet country lane.
We were greeted by a Woodpecker as we arrived and saw a Marsh Harrier flying over the field.
The metal fire holder provided by the site with logs and kindling available to purchase was an excellent idea.
The showers/toilets are basic but what more do you need.
Even with plenty of other campers at the weekend it was still peaceful.
We strongly recommend this site for singles, couples, families and small groups.

A nice setting with lots of space and helpful and friendly owners. The toilet and shower block is very basic but adequate. If you buy fire wood from the site make sure it is dry as ours wasn't so lots of smoke and blowing and fanning required! The nearest supermarket is a 15 minute drive and there are a couple of nice pubs in the area. The downside is the bumpy road to the camp site which is not fit for road vehicles! Would return if the road was usable.

Stayed two nights at this lovely camp site last year with my (then) five year old son.
The owners are very friendly and accommodating.
They suggested a pitch close to the 'frog pond' which was a big hit with my son - and all the other little kids on the site that weekend.
My son had a whale of a time fishing the poor old frogs in and out of the pond.
The site is safe and very child friendly. The owners let the children help them feed the chickens every morning.
We had plenty of space and enjoyed a camp fire. Toilet and shower facilities were fine.
The site is not too far from Canterbury and the beaches in Thanet.
Tried to book into the site again for this August but they were full. Many campers we spoked to while we were there were regular visitors.
Will definitely go back again and hopefully stay a little longer.

Nethergong Campsite is certainly a picturesque and relaxing environment; though an ideal destination for families, the camp covers for every generation. On arrival, the owners were very friendly, showing us around their array of areas; including woodland, open ground, an orchard and pond-side camps. Immediately the place had a wonderful, friendly atmosphere, which was continued throughout our stay. The information sheets on surrounding facilities, rainy-day ideas and other information were definitely useful!
Enjoyed by many of the guests were the campfires which were available on request.
The camp site had a small shop offering basics, but fresh fruit and veg were available to purchase from their nursery! The local post office was also very helpful. The shower blocks were saticfactory and scruptiously cleaned.
Christine and Jed made us feel very welcome and their hard work certainly shows. They are very friendly people who were helpful towards every need.
The campsite has a old english, rural, country feel- A real escape! Can't wait to go back!

Well what can I say about our stay at the wonderful world that is Nethergong. Just fantastic. A beautiful campsite with good facilities, wonderful surroundings & lovely owners.
Christine greeted us on our arrival and we were taken on a walk around the site to choose where we would like to camp for our week long stay. We chose to stay on the far side of the main camping field, ideal as we had the sun right into the late evening & enjoyed some beautiful sunsets sat in front of our campfire.
We later met Jed who came round with logs for the fire & a fire pit for us to use. We parked our vehicle in the parking area just to the side of the field, but this was a great advantage as it meant our children & others on site were safe & no vehicles would be moving around, apart from when loading & unloading camp gear.
Christine & Jed had great local knowledge & we went on several walks & visited several places recommended by them. We enjoyed our walk to the village fete on the Saturday as did the children!
We visited the Gate Inn, great hearty freshly made food at a good price. And later in the week we went to The Red Lion at Stodmarsh, great food again freshly made, slightly more money & slightly less choice but still good grub & a lovely garden to sit in.
Showers were hot & toilets were always clean on site. The washing machine was a great bonus too. As was the fridge freezer, everyone respected everyone else's items & nothing went missing etc.
We also purchased a veg box from Lewis on our departure & it was yummy!
Overall we cannot fault this site. We have been camping for several years & myself, hubby, the kids & Poppy the dog all agree this is our favourite. We will be back
