Fantastic holiday destination. We had never been to the Isle of Wight before, tending to go to the Devon/Cornwall regions, but I cannot believe we have never been to this gem before.
The campsite is brilliant with plenty of room for the kids to play and explore in safety, with spectacular views of the surrounding Downs, Blackgang Chine, and if you walk the minute or so to the adjoining cliffs you will see uninterrupted views across to the Needles and out to sea. The facilities are OK, however when the site got busy there was a wait for the showers and pot washing area, so we tended to go a bit later when it was less busy.
The showers and toilet facilities were cleaned regularly and to a satisfactory standard, however I found that if persons using them cleaned up after themselves then they could be better. Not the fault of the staff. There was always a regular supply of hot water at any time of day or night.
we took the family to the Blackgang Chine park just up the road and they had a great day out and were thoroughly looking forward to the meal we had at the Buddle Inn in St Catherines, which was ate in lovely nautical surroundings, which served great food and local ales.
Visit other great locations such as the Garlic Farm, The Needles, St Catherines Lighthouse, Ventnor or just go out and explore the lanes to see what you find.
Apart from the small campsite shop which supplies the basic needs, you either had to travel to Freshwater for the main convenient supermarkets or travel further to Newport or Sandown for the main store. We found the cheapest petrol at the time was at the main superstores at those locations.
Geoff and Jill were always willing to assist from the moment we booked to the time we left, just ask and they will try to accommodate.
I would recommend this to anyone wanting a relaxed, friendly campsite within minutes of fantastic beaches and attractions and will be visiting and recommending this in the future.

We probably didn't take the most direct route to this site but enjoyed a lovely drive through country lanes and emerged at the reception with the campsite over the road.
When they say they are on the cliff edge, they really mean it! We had lovely uninterrupted views of the coast as far as the eye could see. Even though the site had lots of families with lots of kids, we had a quite spot so you hardly noticed.
There are great walks and cycle routes in either direction along the coastal paths and even a pub up the road!
From what we saw around the island, I feel that, while this was not the most central location, it was one of the few campsites that were close to the beach and bush, had views and wasn't overcrowded or too touristy.
Great location, friendly service and clean facilities!

Lovely campsite. Clean toilets/showers and lots of hot water. Owners very friendly and pitches a good size. Lots of space for the children to run around and the views are lovely. Stayed over looking the sea, which was blustery but worth it. We will be back and recommend. Good location and near to some fantastic beaches. The walk down to the beach is worth it. Lots of great walks from the campsite. When we stayed all campers adhered to the 10. 30pm rule and there was no noise. We all had a great stay as a family and it is a shame we couldn't have stayed longer!

I booked the site after finding it on the internet as I was looking for a nice site for me and 3 friends to 'do the island' on the motorcycles.
Thankfully there was no issues with us riding the bikes as there is with some. All of the organising was done in a very friendly and accommodating manner and this carried on while we were booking in.
The site was level with good ground. The views, when not foggy or misty, were great. The facilities were always clean and the showers and washroom water was hot when required.
The washing facilities were great too. The location was lovely as it allowed us to explore the Islands roads but the road from Freshwater to the campsite was fantastic.
I will be back, maybe on the bike, maybe I the car but I really enjoyed it and I don;t like camping. All 4 of us thought it was a great place.

Great site! The toilet/ shower/ waste facilities were excellent and kept immaculately clean.
The site is level and clean
Jill, the owner, was very friendly and accommodating, and I will definitely be visiting again. I would also not hesitate to heartily recommend Chine Farm.
A word of warning though. Because of it's position, the site can be quite blustery but this is a small price to pay for the beautiful surroundings and views.
If you enjoy walking this is ideal for heading off across the downs, otherwise you definitely need some form of transport.
About 10 minutes away is the village of Brighstone where there are a couple of little shops, although the village store is a little pricey so we tended to use the newsagents/ general store a few feet away from it.
Happily, there is a nice pub in between the two shops which is well worth a visit.

It's a lovely site in an amazing location, which obviously can be windy as it is located on a cliff top on the coast of the IOW. Shelter can be found on certain pitches.
We arrived on a very busy Saturday on the end of half term holiday, but we able to pitch at 8:30 am. On the day of departure the owner said we could stay until 9pm if need be, very accommodating owner. In the week following half term the site was extremely quiet and relaxing.
The toilet facilities were very good, clean with ample hot water, and the showers are not push button.
The advantage of the site being away from everything is that there is a lot of wildlife eg buzzards, kestrels, owls and rabbits.

A fantastic, relaxed site. The owners were so helpful from our initial enquiry, through booking and during our stay. The site is spacious, clean and the children (10 of them from 6 - 10, boys and girls) all loved the play facilities.
As a group of 6 families (21 of us in total) we could not have wished for a more accomadating site. The toilet block is clean and the showers are the old fashioned type with lots of hot water and pressure!
The wind was an issue, but that is the price you pay for the views and space.
A form of transport is required here as the closest Pub, shops etc is a very long walk.
The beach access is not suitable for those with walking disabilities, but there are lots of local ones that are.
We will all be back

I would happily recommend this campsite. The owners were always helpful and went out of their way to help.
Due to a mix up (well really the fact I didn't listen to my wife) I drove into Chine farm campsite thinking it was Grange farm campsite, which was on Grange chine, which my wife had booked and paid for.
We pitched up right on the cliff top with a fantastic view of the beach and sea. After staying for 2 nights we drove past Grange chine and realised we had been staying in the wrong campsite.
We felt pretty stupid and accepted it was completely our mistake and expected to fully pay for the 2 nights at Chine Farm campsite.
What we were amazed by was the kind reaction from the owners of Chine Farm who found it really funny and said as we had already paid upfront for Grange farm we could have it for free and insisted on taking no payment.
The site is in a wonderful location and if you can get the sea front pitch it is wonderful. The facilities are cleaned regularly and do the job.
I think probably there could be a little more for the kids to play on as the playground is quite minimal but all in all a lovely campsite.

I always have a nightmare booking sites because we travel with a group and have a mixed requirement of campervan with tents. Chine Farm were totally accommodating, no problem having the campervan with hook-up and 2 tents on the same pitch.
Cheap as chips and friendly to boot. Hot showers with plenty of room and none of that push-button nonsense plus well serviced, clean toilets. Good play area with swings and a sandpit so the kids were very happy.
It's the windy side of the island so we had a fair buffering from the elements when the weather was dodgy, but the upside is that there is tons of room, you aren't beset by the crowds like you would be on the more touristy campsites and the night sky is an absolute wonder to behold! I'm extremely happy with my experience and am already planning to go back next year.

We had such a lovely time here. It was just the two us hoping for a quiet and relaxed holiday which was exactly what we got. The site wasn't too big, pitches were well organised and the facilities were always kept clean.
It was easy to visit all different parts of the island from the site which is in a beautiful location. We would recommend this site to anyone and would love to return there ourselves.
