We stayed here in the summer of 2008 so things may have changed a little by now.

We enjoyed our stay; the site is well placed for exploring the island and gives direct access to the coast path for some interesting walks. It is a peaceful location away from towns and there are good views out to sea to be had from the field furthest from the facilities block. The block was clean and tidy and I think the showers were free but I can’t remember for certain, there was also a small shop in the reception area across the road from the main site.

There were no marked out pitches, which made the place feel relaxed, and the other campers were friendly and considerate.

Overall we enjoyed our stay here and would stay again if we revisited the island.

What a fab campsite. Have just come back from a much needed weekend away with my husband and stayed at this campsite.

The couple that run the camp site were really helpful and friendly. Couldn't do enough for us! We paid £10 a night! A great sized pitch. Toilets and showers were clean. I think it has to be one of the nicest sites we have stayed at. The views were gorgeous.

If you are looking for a quiet site to unwind and don't want all the facilities that some campsites offer then this campsite is an absolute must. I can't wait to go again with the kids!

Chine Farm has had a change of management from the start of this season. The hard work put in by the owners during last winter has made a significant improvement to this site.

The toilet block has had more new showers fitted which are now free of charge. New wet room type floors have been added to the showers. The whole block has been redecorated and is checked and cleaned several times a day. New Electric hook-ups have been installed. The Kids play area has been refurbished. The grass is well cared for and rolled to keep it flat. The pot holes in the site road have been filled. There are a few basic items on sale at reception (inc Ice Cream). The whole family work very hard to ensure that the site is kept up together visitors are happy with their stay.

The important thing is that while the facilities have been brought up to date, the site remains unspoilt and its natural character still dominates. If you want fish and chip bars and bingo halls then stay somewhere else.

Enjoying the outstanding country and sea views while watching the hawks hovering is superb.

We live on the Island and now camp her frequently in a tent or caravan. Try a stay where the locals go, its beauty will call you back again.

Have just returned from Chine Farm and it's an excellent site for the money, just £10 a night for two people and 1 tent, no extras added for cars, dogs, awnings, etc as other campsites do! And you can have fires and bbqs.
I have read other peoples comments on here regards the man on a bike? never saw such a person, the owner is a lady who does come round in the evening to make sure everyone is ok, and is very friendly.
The shower block is fine, plenty of toilets and loo roll! There are only 2 showers but I never had a problem with this, the showers are only 20p for 7 mins and I felt this was great value for money.  There is a separate room for washing up with two sinks, always found this is be clean.
All in all a great site in a beautiful location, you can choose to camp on the cliff edge as we did, but the site is quite large so you don't have to as plenty of space.  Never went to the beach but don't think you can blame the campsite for rubbish on it!
Would definitely go back again.

My son and I backpacked round IOW so we found campsites as we went.
The site was flat but very windy on top of cliffs.Showers and toilets were clean.
The beach as mentioned previously was messy with litter.
We went next door to a Hi-Di-Hi campsite to have an evening meal.(A campsite still in the 60's)
I would be happy to use this site again for short stays only.
There was a small play area, which looked tidy.

Had a lovely holiday but agree about the manager (and his bike !) - for a "family" site, it would be much better if the manager gave the impression of liking children !

Toilet block basic but clean and functional. Same with washing up area. Shop on site would be a great help if only selling milk, bread etc. Ice block freezing available which was great.

Very windy being on the top of a cliff - make sure you're pitched properly. The beach down the cliff was a great disappointment with a lot of litter but there are plenty of other beaches on the Isle of Wight.

Large bins behind toilet block but lack of recycling facilities a disappointment and wouldn't be hard to implement eg one bin for paper, one for glass, one for plastic bottles etc.

True the toilet block is basic but it is clean. The cliff top location is superb and is an unbeatable base for coastal walks along the southern coast.

Our gripe is with the manager. Four children were told off for washing up when he only allows two at a time! A child was apprehended and frog marched to a bin with a crisp packet that wasn't his!

This is a lovely place but the manager rides around on his bike all day. We really didn't feel at ease and so left after one night. We won't be returning again and parents with children that like to roam should beware.

It was cheap at £12 for 2 adults and children but that was the only positive thing about our single stop over!

This was a very basic site in a beautiful location.  Facilities were clean although when the site was busy 2 showers in the ladies wasn't enough.  Save your 20ps if you want a hot shower.

Would have been good to have a shop on site for basics like bread and butter.  Also laundry facilities would have been great.

A clifftop site so bring plenty of windbreaks to protect you from the wind.

Site is perfectly located for coastal walks although path to beach was very steep and beach itself not that nice.

All that said we had a lovely holiday.  The Isle of Wight has so much for families to do.

A simple quiet site with stunning seaviews. Toilet block nice and clean although you have to pay for showers so stock up on 20p's. Footpath to the beach a little tricky to negotiate. Site definitely worth a return visit.
