The site is run by Phil and Sandy, both friendly and helpful. The toilets and shower blocks were always clean and well maintained. There is a washer and dryer on site for a small charge 50p for the dryer and £3 for the washer.
There is a communal pot wash up area inside 2 sinks undercover and two outside, both with running hot and cold water. The location of the site is about a fifteen minute walk to the beautiful Carbis bay beach, there is a cost cutter about a 10 minute Walk away
We have used this campsite twice now and will be booking next year for a third time.
It's a relaxed atmosphere on the site.

One of the few short trips this year.
If you want a good, no frills, petty rule free campsite then this could be for you. OK it's fairly basic but if it luxury you want pay more, go somewhere else.
The two guys we met couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. We even had a fire pit for one night. Fire pit £1. Bag of logs with kindling and fire lighters £5. With a 5 year old and a 2 year old all we needed was some marshmallows and a few twigs. Heaven!
The walk to the fabulous Carbis Bay was pleasant, fairly long and in places rather steep but in our case grandad ran a taxi service.

Absolutely loved our week in Carbis bay, Phil and Sandy looked after us from start to finish,
Toilets/showers and reception are a great new upgrade.
Everyone respected the covid 19 controls in place and cleaning was regular.
Thanks for a great week

From the first email Phil was amazing,
The site is very spacious with everything you need, showers, toilets, washing machine, dryer,
Phil and Sandy are very laid back and make excellent hosts
We will be back 100%
5 mins from carbis bay beach
10 mins into St Ives
There is nothing to not like about this site,
The toilets are clean, the water is hot,
All the people on site are happy
No shop
No strict rules yet everyone is quiet and respectful
The kids are kids again playing football and cricket
We will be back

We just spent another 14 days at mount Douglas campsite and it was as lovely as ever
Had new toilets and they had a good Covid 19 restrictions in place,
We felt very safe there and Phil, Sandy n the lady who cleaned the facilities were all very friendly and helpful, there was no rush when we were de pitching,
Great area of Carbis bay 15 min walk downhill to beach but worth every step even going back up,
We usually go for 7 nights after our foreign holiday but we postponed that and had 2 weeks here instead and we’re seriously thinking of just holidaying here for 3 weeks instead of foreign holidays we enjoyed it that much,
Thanks for a great stay Phil see you soon

My 16 year old daughter and I absolutely loved this site. Sandy and Phil were great hosts - always around doing jobs and cleaning (very entertaining!). Good mix of people staying - single campers, couples, families and watersporters in every type of setup. Loved the location - Carbis Bay is very attractive and upmarket.
We regularly walked to Porthkidney beach along the coast path for dog-friendly beach. St Ives is beautiful but too busy to fully enjoy. Plenty of walks and beaches to escape the crowds.
Chip shop in walking distance of site, as well as a convenience store. Tesco a 20 min walk towards St Ives. We don't drive once we've pitched up.
We would love to visit again.

Nice basic small site, clean facilities short walk to carbis train station about 15min (up hill coming back) Tesco 2min drive or 15min walk and a coop 10min walk away. Your train stop away from st ives harbour or short drive (train is about £1. 50 return to st ives, kids half price, and parking at train station is £5 per day)
Site was fairly quite apart from the noise from the road but not a busy road and the odd night music from the other camp facing I think or it could have been another tent with the tv on loud not sure but dident go on to late.
Nice hot showers, never busy, free access to a fridge to use, washing machine and dryer. Price on site is per person not pitch so if only 2 people could be a cheap stay. Would recommend the site but be aware some pitches are on a slight incline, its was ok we just made sure the beds where positioned the right way.

We all loved it here! It has everything you need.
Clean and hot showers, clean well maintained toilets. Fridge, freezer, washer and dryer all available to use. Hand sanitizers on the toilet blocks
Big spacious pitch with electric hook ups available. Dog friendly. We rented a fire pit with a big bag of wood and kindling for less than a tenner.
Free to borrow picnic tables
Farmer Phil came around a couple of times checking everyone was ok which was a lovely thing to do. He is a fountain of knowledge and couldn't be more helpful!
The location was perfect for us we walked into carbis bay to the beach and took the costal path into st ives and also drove to penzance, mousehole, Hyle for adventures.
Cost cutter and Tesco are close by and handy for picking up a few bits
We would definitely come again much better than other sites that you pay 3x the price for.

Lovely clean, friendly campsite ideally situated in Carbis Bay with great access to St Ives and local amenities.
Showers and facilities very clean and never had to queue for showers or toilets.
Very useful large fridge and freezer for campers use and laundry facilities.
We enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone wishing to stay in this part of Cornwall - ideal.
Thanks to the owner and guy who runs reception.
