The first thing on arriving that you notice is the incredibly steep hill that leads through the site. We made the mistake of stopping to go into reception and nearly burnt out the clutch trying to get up to the top of the site where our pitch was located! The views from this campsite are absolutely stunning and even the wet and windy weather could not dampen our opinion of these views. Our pitch was flat but was a little muddy due to the weather which can't be helped. The pitch was a good size with individual hook up for each one. The reception staffs were friendly and happy to help but the same can't be said about the pool staff! The 'lifeguard' arrived 5 minutes late looking bleary eyed and yawning followed by a host of children without their parents (which seemed to be allowed despite signs stating otherwise!) He spent more time and attention on his young lady friend than these children and then proceeded to turn his back on them and clean the windows! I found the pool was cold with no private showers and basic changing rooms. I then made a dash to the showers which were equally as cold and covered in cobwebs.

On the plus side the children’s parks were absolutely brilliant with a range of activities for most ages. The Club house is very small which wasn't a problem for us as it was very quiet. The standard of the 'cabaret' was decidedly average but entertaining none the less. The entertainment and bar staff were all very pleasant and happy to help.

Our overall opinion of the site is that the views make up for some of the other areas which are clearly neglected. O.K. For a short stop over.

We stayed in the Triangle field in August 2007, 1 week after the flooding in Gloucestershire.

Luckily the weather was good the week we stayed.

After arriving on our pitch, must say a little uneven but there were many worse than ours for flattness.

Hi to the friends we made as it is somewhere that people go back to time and time again.

Seemed so friendly as a bit of West country banter was a foot 'ello my lover' seemed quite a common saying.

The site had a well stocked shop only went in twice as yes, guess what, you need heavy duty pegs for camping here, somehow I ran out straight away when I put my tent up.

There is a lovely club to visit at night that caters for kids as well, a little small so get in early.

Both my boys attended the pool whenever possible and the site even layed on a pool party which they attended.

I think there were other activities during the day but we couldn't make them as we were soo busy going to other places in the area.

So many memories crabbing around Teignmouth, the smell of two day old fish wrapped up in bags.

The time it took us to get to Quaywest as well, 45 mins - 1 hour in car then queuing for over an hour just to get in.

Anyway so many memories you forget about some of the inclines when your on the park as it would make it more difficult for an older person staying.

Not sure if I'm back in 2008 but will be sometime, see you all again I hope.

The site is well located for Teignmouth and Dawlish and is a short drive from both depending on the traffic and time of day.  We stayed in the top field and had fantastic views over to Teignmouth and up the coast.  As in other reviews it can be difficult to get tent pegs into the ground but it was not the end of the world.  Toilets were very poor in the top field compared to the toilets in the shower block at the lower level.

Due to the weather the on-site entertainment was not really used but what we did see was very limited quality.  The clubhouse is in need of a overhaul and did have a working mans club feel about it.  The site has one small pool for non swimmers and a larger pool with a deep end of around 5ft 6 which is fine and my children stayed in the pool for hours during our stay.  What we did notice was the long pool opening times from 9am to 7pm which gives you a great scope for having a swim first thing and then doing things during the day and also have a swim when you return.  The pool area also has lovely views overlooking the sea.

The site has a shop which is well stocked with your normal items which you would require and the reception area is clean and tidy, with check-in being very quick and organised.  The site staff generally did have a bored appearance to them which can dampen your spirits during your break.  As a whole the site is a brilliant base for the area and if the weather is on your side which it was for us the views are fantastic and the nearby resorts make up for any shortcomings.

There is only 1 good thing about this site and that is the view, it is spectacular. Apart from that there is nothing positive I can say about this place. There is only 1 toilet and shower block with approx 6 toilets and 6 showers in the ladies and I think there was 3 wash hand basins. For a large site the toilet facilities are very limited. Over the whole weekend I only found toilet paper in the block once. The toilets and showers were constantly dirty and the showers had water stagnating in them and it was also pouring out into the middle of the toilet block floor. The bins in the toilet were constantly full and overflowing. There was a report sheet on the wall for a cleaning rota but this was not filled in. I have been to many sites but I think this one is the worst for cleanliness. If you are staying in the top field which is at the top of a very steep hill you have a very long walk to the toilet block and it is not ideal for the elderly or people with young children. The weekend was clearly a very busy weekend for the site with the site being filled to capacity but quite frankly with the money they are charging for a pitch you should still be entitled to clean toilets, showers, and access to toilet paper. The club house was ok, a bit small and had the usual evening entertainment you seem to get at campsites. Baby changing facilities were poor in the club with a change mat right next to the sink. This site has the potential to be lovely but is let down by the poor management.

Stayed on the top field, very steep walk back from shower block ( a block of facilities on the field would be a worthwhile investment ).
The club entertainment is good for families with young children, more could be done for teenagers.
The indoor swimming pool is the best feature of the site and was a bit hit with the children.
The site is worth a return visit as the prices are reasonable and the situation fantastic

A really well managed site. The toilet/shower blocks were pristine and the site very clean throughout. The bar was friendly and ustling with plenty of activity for all ages.
The site is located with panoramic views over teignmouth estuary, and the village of Shaldon is close by. Teignmouth can be reached very easily by river ferry which in itself is worth doing just for the experience.
Access to the English Riviera is easywith Torquay etc only a few miles away.
If I really had to be picky the only faut I could find is that the pitch was very hard and therefore difficult to drive in the awning pegs. Otherwise perfect!

Went here last year 06 with my 2 kids, hubby & my friends and their 3 kids. I was disappointed as the pitch we had booked was already booked out and they tried to get us to go to the other end and not be next to our friends (we had booked well in advanced) Anyway finally we were put next to each other on dusty grass. If you do go here you better take heavy duty tent pegs as the ground is rock hard.

The view would have been nice but we couldn't see it due to the hedges, the club house was not big enough and if you wanted a seat we had to get there early.

The toilets well don't get me started on them what a disgrace! There was never any loo roll in the toilette's so make sure you take a good supply!

The bins outside ere gross too over spilling onto the ground hence a mass of seagulls ripping bags open

Very steep hill not not good for caravans and defiantly not for the faint hearted and pitches are small (we had a super size one and it was still small).

The food was ok when it eventually arrived and even then they got the order wrong 1 cook to lots of people not good!

Now the good points hmmmmm the swimming pool was ideal for the kids as was the park hence the toilets! The shop was ok and I think that about sums it up!

Views stunning is the best I can say about this site.
2 man pitch does not mean 2 man tent on the top field where you are overcharged £19.
The ladies showers seldom work and when they do they are luke warm unlike the mens which are really hot.   The ladies toilets generally boast one loo roll.   They tend to have overflowing bins and wet dirty sinks.
If you enjoy the stench of crap - then you can wash up outside the toilet block.
The top field is a steep climb and can be dangerous as it is unlit at night and has very rough rubble underfoot.   The field is generally strewn with litter which no one bothers to keep clean.   There are 2 portaloos which are locked - so what is the point!  Take a heavy duty mallet and tent pegs as the ground is rocky - but beware if you do manage to get them in you'll end up leaving the pegs in situ.   And I would not be so scathing but the for the attitude of the miserable staff!

We booked 7 nights camping @£19 per night.
Pitch was in top field (sloping) no electric hook-up, long walk to  cold showers (when they worked), dirty toilets with no paper on 3 mornings, overflowing ST bins in Ladies' , cold  water in washing - up sinks & overfilled dumpsters.

We were refused access to powerpoints in main building even to power laptop.
The advertised cafe was closed on 3 days.

Complaints were brushed aside by the management (they had our cash , toughluck). We were glad to escape after 7 nights.
Will NEVER go back.

Altogether a nice site. However as we were on the top field we found the steep walk up and down to the showers and toilets quite a trek(not good if you have bad knees) but the view over the sea was spectacular.
The facilities were very clean and tidy and the staff cheeful and pleasent.
We had 5 children in our party of varying ages who all said they loved the park facilities and would love to return (but not on the top field). There is plenty to do on the site but with Torquay only about 7miles away you wont be stuck to find something for everyone.
General impression was very good and will most definatly consider going back.
