August 2005 Went to this campsite for a few days break came home more exhausted than when I went.Very rocky, difficult to put pegs in,The shop is small but caters for most things except its very limited on camping equipment and supplies. No plugs anywhere on site to enable you to use electric pumps for your mattresses so be prepared. Entertainment was very good and the indoor pool is also very good, but on our last day which I might add was bank holiday monday everything was shut, ie bar and resturant if you wanted a drink you had to go to reception to ask someone to come to the bar which was very annoying, I found this most unusual considering the day it was.I was glad I was only there for a few days, as we were on the top field with no toilet facilities and the trek to get there and back was like mountain climbing (the camp needs to remedy this)Wont be going back.

August 2005 Stayed for three nights in August.
Location and views are exceptional, stunning views across the bay and a short(ish but steep) walk into Shaldon. There's plenty of places to eat / drink in Shaldon or there's a relatively cheap ferry to Teignmouth where there's even more to see and do.
Facilities at the site are extensive with a well stocked shop, bar / lounge serving simple food and a heated indoor swimming pool.
On the down-side, the showers were either scalding (you could hardly stand under them) or freezing and had no temperature control. This type of shower is becoming more common and in my mind is unnacceptable both in terms of economy and comfort. In addition there was a severe lack of loo paper in the toilets, particulary the ladies with little or none to be seen most of the time we were there. Toilet block hygene was lacking also.
In short, this site has all the makings of one of the nicest sites we've been to but it must get it's act together with the showers / toilet blocks.

June 2005 Fled Bristol on Friday afternoon to this campsite. We were the only tent on the huge top field (which was a bit slopey and stoney - but nothing to get het up about) Views were truly impressive and the children loved the space plus the play area was a massive hit.True the hill was a bit steep - but the exercise helped to burn off the cream tea calories from nearby Teignmouth.
Facilities were excellent, clean and well maintained - this would provide the perfect base for a longer holiday with so much just a short distance away. We would definitely gho back again for a sghort weekend break and would heartily recommend it for a longer one.

May 2005 Had a one night ‘mini-break’ here with the kids over the Bank Holiday, principally because it’s only 60 minutes from home and had vacancies. We were told to pitch anywhere in the top field as the lower camping areas were already full. Note: Site is on a large, steep hill and the amenities are at the bottom.
The top field is huge, consisting of three separate terraces with fantastic views around the coast from Teignmouth to Weymouth. We were one of 6 tents in a section that could accommodate 60 or 70. Field does slope a little but was not a problem, neither was the so-called rocky ground. It was a steep walk back up from the amenities, but it was worth it for the view.
We found the pool, shop, club etc a bit ‘small scale’, but perfectly acceptable for a short visit. I think anyone stopping for a week or more would need to get out and about for most of their amusement. Toilets and showers were clean. None in the top field, so be prepared for a walk.
Will we return ? Yes, because it’s an ideal distance / location for a week-end jaunt with the kids when the wife is working. Would I recommend it ? Yes, but be prepared for the steep walk up to the top field and keep telling yourself it’s worth it for the view !

June 2005 Pre-booked a ridge pitch (good move as too much slope on the field above) but only just had enough room to pitch our six berth tent in the space given (some of the guys were practically pegged onto the side of the road which gave access to the tents passed us). Ground very stoney, we must have bent every peg we had!! We visited during Bank holiday and half term and the shower block could not cope. A lot of people unhappy with the fact they kept running out of not only hot water but sometimes water all together!! Things did improve after the bank holiday week-end though. Site is a bit uncared for in places eg. the crazy golf had a couple of holes which had been badly damaged and left. Pool was ok and the view out to sea was excellent. Good base for visiting the area,Torquay and Paignton just up the road but I won't be going back!

June 2004 I visited outside of school holidays and found it to have all the kids entertainment going on, evenings too, though geared towards the under 10's initially, they then had singers and karaoke etc later, the entertainment was halted as the England footie game was on, I even managed to watch all the other footie (without sound) while the evenings entertainment continued. When I turned up, I was told to pitch wherever I liked, I chose the level ground , even tho' I was not on electric. I didn't use the pool, tho' noticed many did. It was a warm period, so didn't notice any of the floods talked about. The ground was a bit difficult for tent pegs, but not the worst I have encountered, I did notice some rock pegs were still embedded in the pitches, where guests had obviously had trouble removing them (get the rock pegs that have a metal 'T-bar', instead of the plastic). I found the showers to be plentiful (seen a lot less at other sites), water was warm enough and couldn't fault any ameneties. I would recommend this site, tho it sounds . from other reviews, that they may have some problems at high season (but what site doesn't?)

June 2004 I know that a lot of people have had problems getting tent pegs to catch, but once you do, you're greeted by awesome views, and the food on site is better than most sites we've visited, at a fair price also. The pool is great and the locals are friendly,(pubs, and people). Enjoy.

August 2004 We arrived and tried to pitch our tent the ground was very rocky and hence bent most of our pegs (thats why they have so many in the shop for sale!!!!) We packed it all up again only having packed it 4 hours before and moved further up the hill, where we eventually pitched our tent. It usually takes us 1/2 hour it took well over an hour with alot of tears and sweat. The walk down to the toilets was ok it was the hike back up it was a killer. The bar and entertainment was good, we could always get a seat and the food was also very nice. The views over the bay were stunning and Shaldon was a lovely place the pub in the village is excellent for good food. We only stayed 2 days as the hike up and down the hill was too much when you have to go with children in the middle of the night, There is no refunds and its a bit late when you see the rocky hill you have to pitch on.

July 2004 Great little site on the hillside overlooking Teignmouth. We were in a tent with electric hookups so you get the more of a level pitch, make sure you have substantial tent pegs as the ground is very stoney. The views from the site down towards Teignmouth bay and Shaldon harbour are fantastic, Club house was good. Swimming pool we found was too hot as soon as you entered the indoor pool the heat took your breathe away (can imagine this would be quite welcome if the weather was a little cooler). Toilets were to a satisfactory standard

July 2003 We enjoyed our first ever camping holiday at this clean and friendly camp, we are going back this year and looking forward to another great holiday, the only bad point was the small club house, it gets full very early and very hot. Other than that would recommend to anyone to try this camp at least once, my kids chose to return again even with given the choice of anywhere else and at 12, 15 and 17 it must have something they want, other wise we would be going somewhere else and we are not.
