We visited this site for a couple of days and were very impressed. Not many people on site when we arrived as incorrect weather reports had seemed to deter people. We were advised we could chose any pitch in either the front or back field.

The toilet blocks were always clean and tidy and warm on an evening.

The site itself is very well kept, small shop on site which has essentials that may be required, milk cornflakes bacon ext.

Prime camping location if you want to see the south coast of Cornwall. Not to far either from Lizard so if you don't want to cook you could always visit either of the two very nice pubs or the excellent fish and chip shop.

We will definitely camp here again

Been to this site 4 times now and are going back end of this month, fab site, clean, friendly, quiet and roomy.

Location is just great for the area and the deals on pitches are great.

Highly rate this site and anyone going here will have a great experience of a low key rural site.

Just fab, wish we had places like this more local to our home.

The bays and coves around, make fab day and eve retreats for beach cooking, body boarding, fishing or just beach combing.

Days outs can also be to all the major attractions around cornwall and this area is always a welcome quite area away from the masses in the evening.

In our party: 2 adults, and two children (6 and 2).

This little camp site is a real gem. We stayed here for a week in questionable weather. Positioned only 15 miles maximum away from lots of locations; St Ives, Falmouth, 8 miles to St Micheal's Mount, 6 miles to the Lizzard, 10 miles to Penzance etc.

Site was really quiet, probably only about a third of pitches occupied. We had an electric pitch which had loads of room, especially as our tent is about 7m x 9m with the extension on the front (Outwell Utah 6).

Quirky toilet blocks that are dated in decoration but always clean. The showers need 20p to run which gives enough time to easily shower but not to have a good soak.

There are clothes washing facilities with a couple of washers and driers that I think cost about £4 a wash. Also a chest freezer for ice blocks in the same room.

A small shop is on site which stocks most things to get you by, but there is a full Tesco in Helston about 10 minutes drive away.

Nearest beach is Poldhu which is about 10 minutes drive, with a lovely beach with lifeguards, toilets and a little cafe. This beach has real wow factor when arriving.

Porthleven is also a good visit, lovely harbour with a real fishing heratage. No trip is complete without a trip to 'Nauti but Nice' cafe, which served the best Cornish cream tea we have ever had.

All in all, well maintained site, quiet, friendly owners, also exceptionally good value.

Booked this site for two weeks on the strength of the reviews given.

Have to say we were disappointed although the weather did play a big part in us leaving early, what's happened to global warming!

The site itself is part level part sloping we were pitch 34 not level with the sheep field behind us.

When we arrived in the rain it was becoming waterlogged not sure how much had fallen the previous week but within two days it was Glastonbury without the bands. The smell was quite unpleasant obviously to do with what was running from the sheep field. Also you could only get round in 4x4.

The pitches themselves in my experience are quite small, we have 5 man tunnel, day room, one car and had to pinch a bit of next door to get all three on.

Toilets and showers definitely need updating. Don't have a problem with a pay as you shower. However they really need to put in a mop/bucket especially when conditions are muddy its impossible to keep the floor clean and would be nice if after your shower it was clean underfoot.

Also if you have more than one shower running at a time prepare for a big loss of pressure and heat. Have to say this really did grate when its cold and muddy. Also more than one plug between three basins would be nice in the gents.

On the positive side it was a nice small quiet site

After arriving late evening as previous camp site booked not suitable to us. We were delighted to discover this peaceful campsite. With only the local foxes and badgers as neighbours.

Excellent hospitality from the owners. Very friendly and easy going.

Facilities good and clean although a little basic.

Pitches numbered and plenty of room for your tent and car, some plots are on a slight slope.

Easy access too many of the coves and beaches with many coastal walks available.

Tesco’s in Helston 10 min drive

Excellent chippy in mullion and great pasties from Helston high street bakery.

Would certainly visit again

We were fortunate to get 3 dry days here, although it rained 2 of the nights. Site was surrounded by trees and felt very spacious as not very many tents here. Caravans are on a different part of the site. Showers cost 20P but plentiful hot water. Facilities were kept spotless by the friendly owners. It has a small shop and home baked baguettes although I'm afraid we already had our own bread so never tried these ! Site is very convenient for visiting Lizard Point and the coast at Mullion. Pub at Mullion was pleasant place to visit on a wet day although not walkable as road outside the site can be busy and is narrow.Site is not far from lots of attractions.

We would definitely visit this site again.

Had a lovely stay here. Owners are friendly and relaxed. Location makes this perfect for cycles to the coast, walks and general relaxation. The site was quiet and this was appreciated.

The facilities are basic but work. As others have mentioned the 20p a shower is just irritating! I would prefer to pay more and have a decent and enjoyable shower. The washing up facilities didn't have a light, but as they're next to the toilet block you can see what you're doing, just not very well! It's all just a basic basic and well used. The site was very grassy when we were there, in that the grass had been cut but the cuttings left on the grass. therefore, the toilet block was always full of clumps of grass, despite them being cleaned every day. Just a little niggle as I like my feet to remain clean after a shower!

The tenting area was open and we had enough space to spread out. It wasn't particularly flat but certainly not uncomfortable to sleep.

Overall though, this was a lovely spot to stay and the area is just beautiful to explore. I would definitely stay at this campsite again, I just wish the facilities were a bit better and included in the site price.

Found this site by setting off for a different Mullion campsite run by Weststar, which looked nice on its website. Upon arrival THERE, I took one look at what I’d describe as my idea of a nightmare holiday, noise, burger bar, teenagers in white stilettos and miniskirts, etc, turned the car around and decided to try Franchis which we’d passed a few yards earlier. I am SO GLAD I did.
A lovely, flexible, friendly little campsite, good basic facilities, and spot on for reaching some of the loveliest parts of Cornwall’s stunning coastline. The nearby villages provided great moonlight fish and chips, with bouncing bunnies frolicking around too; art and craft shops, cream teas, etc.
The campsite itself was clean and grassy, the children could run around safely (whilst respecting our neighbours!), we stayed in an arc of trees quite close to the discreetly placed toilet block. There is a small shop on the site only open 8-10am then again 5-7pm, but plenty of shops in Mullion and Lizard to stock up. The showers are 20p, they’re fine but I hope they do get a bit of a revamp. Charge me a bit more and let me have a good hot shower and get all the soap off please!
It’s what us campers want! This is a great site, I recommend it, and I look forward to visiting again!

Another fantastic visit to Franchis.  The site is ideally suited for exploring the whole of the Lizard and the rest of West Cornwall is within easy reach.

Kate and Phil have been busy over the winter decorating getting the site ready for the new season.

The fresh bread sold out very quickly over the Easter weekend and made for the best bacon sarnie ever.

Exceedingly helpful in every way especially with "posted coins/gear shift" situations.

Looking forward to the summer already.

Came back for a second visit this year and the site has been taken over by Kate and Phil who are doing an excellent job!

What can I say, I will be trying to get back here every year if possible as my parent lived a few field away until they moved a few years ago to be near family and the area has just about everything you could want from Cornwall.

The site is clean, friendly and has perfect access to Beaches and Towns, and gives that feeling that you are in the middle of the real Cornwall.

The shop sells Cheese balls which I have come addicted too and my wife addicted to the lollies! It rained constantly this year when we were there, but we all had a great time nevertheless.

Going back this year with a Caravan. Never caravanned before so this should be interesting!
