This is a lovely, quiet, well-maintained site. We're quite new to camping and thoroughly enjoyed our week here. The owners are great - really helpful and even allowed us to stay a couple of hours longer when we were due to leave so that our tent could dry out properly (from the early morning dew).

The shower/toilet blocks are immaculate as stated by other people and there was plenty of hot water.

They have recently started selling pizza and pasta some evenings and they are ok - handy if you don't want to stray too far.

The walk down to the sea is rather narrow and uneven and probably should only be undertaken wearing sensible shoes and clothes as there are quite a few sharp rocks and nettles overhanging the path. The walk is worth it however as the view/cove is lovely.

Although there are some places to eat locally, we didn't feel that they were within an easy walking distance - probably a good 25 to 30 min walk each way on a very busy road with no footpath. One piece of advice is to avoid the surf bar at Praa Sands, as although it's very nice and the food is quite good. It's very expensive - £9 for a 175ml glass of wine and pint of Trubute! We queried the bill and got a bit of a frosty response, although they did admit that they had overcharged us by £1 on the total bill.

We would definitely return to this site

We recently stayed at Kenneggy Cove Campsite for six nights. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful in all matters.

The campsite is well sheltered but still offers a 180 degree view of the sea from many of the pitches.

Having taken our dog along with us, we found the local networks of clearly marked footpaths a great experience, and access to the local (dog friendly) beach at Kenneggy Cove was a straightforward 5 or 6 minute downhill walk. It is approaching this beach that you cross the South West Coastal Path hence easy access to & from the SWCP is available.

We created our own circular walks of anything up to 10 miles by walking along the coastal path but returning on footpaths slightly more inland. Coffee shops were found in both directions at Praa Sands & Perranuthnoe on 4/5 mile circular walks! Ideal!

The other major plus point for dog walkers, who choose not to drive around once set up on site, was the fantastic 'First' local bus service. A £12. 00 day ticket allowed us and the dog to travel throughout West Cornwall on as many of their buses as we wanted/needed to in any 24 hour period. Two of their services will stop at the end of the lane to Kenneggy Cove (0.5 miles from campsite).

In general the site is a quiet and tidy and the toilet/showers were in immaculate condition. The only fault I can see with them was I felt that I the showers could be improved in terms of continuous flow of hot water. I do, however, sympathise with any private campsite owner because I think that this must be a facility that can easily be abused if an open running flow system is used!

I would not hesitate in returning to Kenneggy Cove Camp Site

This is our 3rd visit to Kenneggy Cove, and it won't be our last as we have now booked up for 4 weeks next year!

Firstly, if you are after a site with a clubhouse and a bar, games room etc then look away now. This is, as advertised, a quiet site with a no noise policy during night hours which we love. This is a camp site where you are not staying on a 'site', but rather in the back garden of Linda and Mark's home, with spectacular views over the sea and surrounding hills. This is our perfect holiday in Cornwall.

Linda and Mark have truly made the most welcoming, beautiful site we have ever visited, and we really don't want to stay anywhere else! The site has a very clean toilet and shower block, and a small play area for children situated next to this, as well as a new evening take-away service offering home cooked food (not your typical dirty hamburger rubbish) on selected evenings.

Simple breakfast rolls (Sausage, bacon, egg) are available in the mornings, cooked by Linda as well as freshly ground coffee. Personally, it was nice having a natter with Mark whilst the food was being cooked!

The site is beautifully landscaped and very clean, and I feel it is a very safe site. You are not pitched on top of one another, giving you plenty of space and privacy.

A 2 minute drive out of the lane gets you fish & chips, a Chinese takeaway or a local pub, so you are never far away from any food!

For those reviews saying about the bad weather, don't be put off by this. You must remember, this is the UK, and this is Cornwall, so the weather is very changeable.

The site is surrounded by hedging which shelters most pitches, but as the site is slightly sloping it doesn't spoil the views. We have just finished 3 weeks here and only the last 3 days were wet and windy. You will get wind and rain anywhere!

So to finish my review, we would like to thank Linda & Mark for creating a peaceful Cornish retreat which we like to be a part of!

We stayed at Kenneggy Cove Holiday Park last week and can thoroughly recommend it to those of you out there that appreciate a quite campsite (no noise after 10pm), well organised, with immaculately clean facilities which are conveniently located to all of the pitches.

The only downside for us was the persistent wind and rain showers coming in from the coast. We realised within 24hrs that we should have pitched our tent canopy with outside dining/seating area facing away from the coast and field views, but entirely our lack of good camper judgement.

The footpath down to Kenneggy Sands is a little steep and narrow in parts and sturdy footwear needed particularly if wet underfoot, well worth the effort even with children in tow as links up to the coastal path with beautiful views. However to gain access on and off Kenneggy Sands is tricky currently as the footpath leading down the staggered cliff is closed by the council until June 2013 but we enjoyed the other two coves within a short walking distance towards Prussia Cove and provided car free day exploring.

Local amenities all very handy, close enough to good road network but far enough away not be bothered by any road noise on site. We felt the slightly higher pitch fees compared to other sites was deserved for the quality of customer service and quality of facilities.

We stayed at Kenneggy Cove for a week in July 2011 and had a brilliant time!

On all the site literature, they emphasise that it is a quiet site - this is definitely the case, no club house and it is always quiet by 10pm. This suited us down to the ground, but it's not the place for you if you like to party into the small hours.

On arrival we were met by Linda who made us feel very welcome and showed us to our pitch. We had opted for electric hook up, and had a fantastic level pitch, plenty of space for our Vango Maritsa 500 plus the car. The pitches are well maintained, and they don't cram you in, everyone has plenty of room. The ground was fine, it was easy to get the pegs in, and as it was our first year camping we were just using the standard pegs that came with the tent.

The facilities are out of this world - the toilets and showers were immaculate, there was also a family washroom with a toilet and sink which would be very useful if you had small children. There is always loads of free hot water, plenty of room at the sinks, and plug sockets for your hairdryer or straighteners. My husband said that the mens facilities were also immaculate. Mops and buckets are left in the washrooms, and everyone mopped out the showers after them, which was great. There are four sinks for washing up, all inside, and washing up liquid was provided. There were also two indoor sinks for handwashing, as well as a separate laundry room.

There is a small play area, but as it is a small site you never really heard any noise from it.

The location is fabulous, at the end of a quiet lane and just a short walk from the coastal path. We didn't go on to the beach at Kenneggy Cove as we decided not to attempt the ladder with the dog, but it was an absolutely gorgeous beach, and so quiet! We did walk the coast path in both directions - stunning!

Linda and Mark are always around the site and happy to answer any questions you have or just pass the time of day with you. You can order a newspaper, and there is a small shop which sells the basics, plus they do fabulous cooked breakfast sandwiches and fresh coffee every morning. On our last morning, they even provided our dog Archie, with his own sausage :-)

There is a Morrisons in Penzance, about a 10 minute drive from the site, and plenty of places to visit within a short distance.

The fish and chip shop and the chinese takeaway on the main road were excellent for the evenings when we didn't want to cook.

All in all, we loved this site, and are looking forward to going back this summer.

This was our third visit to Kenneggy Cove and won't be our last. As always the showers etc were immaculate and the gardens and site well tended. The owners are very welcoming and run a very friendly peaceful site with lovely views across the countryside to the sea. After a long caravan tour around Europe it was a great welcome home to arrive at such an immaculately kept and peaceful site.

It is in a good position for exploring the whole of the South West of Cornwall. Porthleven, a small fishing village is a short drive away and has great seafood and restaurants and pubs for eating out. Heading towards Penzance there are glimpses of St Michael's Mount which is a lovely day out. Further on is the beautiful beach at Porthcurno for a day on the beach with the open-air Minnack Theatre on the cliffs just above it for an unforgettable evening performance. This is one of our favourite sites, with homemade food and a small shop area it just about has it all. We will return!

We have just come home from a 6 night stay at Kenneggy Cove and will be returning.

From Linda's very first email in regards to my enquiry we were made to feel welcome, and this was the case when we arrived.

On site there are toilets and shower's which were refurbed last year, Linda did advise us that because the site was quiet, the hot water would take a little while to warm up and to keep pressing the shower button and to not let it turn off or it will take a while to warm up. This is something I tend to do on push button showers anyway so no probs to me and we never had a prob in having a hot shower. The block that they are in is very clean and modern.

The weekend we were there they had a new take away service start for the Friday and Saturday night, the food was great. We also tested out the cooked breakfast (for the purpose of this review of course!) and again great food and all good value for money.

The site was always quiet, as we stayed out of peak season there weren't many children on site but no issue from the 1 family I think that did have a child with them, you wouldn't have known they had child with them in fairness!

There is plenty to do in the area, in the village next to the site there is a petrol station with a convenience store, and a pub (hubby thoroughly enjoyed the st austell real ale's at the pub!)

As other's have said there is a Morrision's on the way into Penzance, also a little bit further along is a tesco (I knew this due to having stayed in the area about 6 years ago), In Penzance there is all your normal high street shops and cafe's and ice cream places etc.

All in all a fantastic site and we look forward to going again

Excellent site. Very friendly owners. Well laid out and beautifully landscaped grounds with sea views from most of the site. Shower block and washing up facilities spotless with plenty of hot water, free hair dryer and even washing up liquid provided!

Ideally situated with at least two pubs in walking distance. Beach also close by and easily accessed by able bodied adults. Children and elderly or infirm may struggle as the route is steep.

Cannot comment on 'child friendliness' as we stayed in term time and did not have children with us.

Definitely on our 'must return' list!

A lovely, clean and well kept site, ideal for families. We have 2 boys, 3 and 5 and they had a whale of a time because it is safe to let them have a bit of freedom; not too big, has a great sand pit and climbing frame & plenty of little friends to play with.

The facilities were refurbished for 2011 and can only be described as spotless. It was half term week, but we never queued for loos or showers. 2 larger showers in the ladies are ideal for showering with children, and the push button style was fine. Kept the boys busy in the shower!

Fantastic washing up area, all indoors with drainers and washing up liquid supplied, and even 2 separate sinks for washing clothes. There is a launderette, a little pricey at £4 but ideal for emergency washes, and an area for washing wet suits.

My only suggestion would be to add a bench in the ladies as in the mens for dressing kids and a step to help kids reach the sinks. Otherwise they scamper up the units and leave muddy marks on the newly painted panelling. Which mum then has to clean off again!

At half term it wasn't full so we had plenty of space in the tent field and despite a very gentle slope we oriented the beds so it wasn't a problem at all.

You can charge phones and other items in reception for a small donation to the RSPCA, genius!

Out and about, we loved Praa Sands with great expanses of clean sand, beach cafe and a stream for making dams. What more could 2 boys wish for? Kenneggy sands is beautiful and unspoilt and even with 2 young ones we managed to trip over the rocks and back up the rope ladder. All part of the adventure.

St Michael's Mount is surprisingly child friendly. Watch people attempt the causeway as the tide comes in whilse eating your pasty. Very entertaining! and kids get a medal for taking part in the quiz around the castle. Mousehole is also great for catching creatures as the tide comes into the harbour.

The site seems to attract like minded people, mainly with families and we made some lovely friends who we will keep in touch with. We will definitely go back next half term.

Only had a brief stay of 3 nights, in the area to attend a family wedding but so wish we had longer, a really lovely site.

Had a bit of trouble finding the site due to the sign on the main road being covered as the site facilities were undergoing refurb at the time but these were virtually completed at the end of our visit.

We were made to feel very welcome + had a complete choice of pitches. The site location is excellent, 10 min walk from the coastal path, pub not far + the facilities at Penzance less than 20min drive.

We walked the 3 hours or so each way to St Michaels Mount along the coastal path, a really beautiful walk + would highly recommend the Peppercorn Kitchen Cafe at Perranuthnoe about halfway on the walk.

We unfortunately didn't get to the local Falmouth Packet Inn although it was strongly recommended, just ran out of time, but would recommend this site + will be returning.
