A bit sceptical as you can't book a pitch and we wanted to camp on a bank holiday weekend. We called ahead on the day and were told to come on down. On arrival, we were welcomed by the owner, booked and helped to find a pitch. Very friendly and helpful, with all facilities and rules well explained.
The site is a good size and very well kept (the grass puts my lawn to shame!). Hooks ups are limited, but not an issue for us. Toilets, showers, washup and other facilities are well laid out, maintained and cleaned.
We chose the site to be close to Arundel to visit the castle and also have some Brighton friends join us on the second night. The local area is packed with things to see and do.
We will be heading back later in the year and probably next summer to.
Overall 10/10 for the campsite.

Used this site as a base to explore Worthing, Arundel etc so didn't spend a lot of time on site but facilities were clean and tidy. Had fire pits at one end of camp field so made a nice gathering point of an evening, not a great deal for the kids but they made their own fun on some trees overhanging a stream at the back of park.
No shop in the village, just a pub, but large londis about 5mins up the A22. Some good walking close by with great views of the south downs.

The site was lovely and clean. We came around a relatively busy roundabout then just after the road sign was the entrance to the site, so we held up a few cars leaving the roundabout.
We had a terraced area with EHU and a table and benches to use. The view from here over the site was excellent.
The electricity was a meter but 50p was all we needed. The showers at 20p for 5 minutes were lovely and hot.
We wandered round the perimeter of the site and saw the stream and the BBQ area, but we didn't use this.
The A24 is extremely noisy but got somewhat quieter later in the evening. We had great fish and chips from shop in Storrington.
We stayed here for two nights and would stay again if we were in the area.

Overall very good, would definitely go back.
Good points:
The wooden chalet-style facilities block has clean toilets, spacious good value shower (20p = 5 mins) and a clean washing-up / laundry room. Never any problem with water temp (it was always hot).
There's a little hut with a reasonably priced (40p) hot drinks vending machine and a fridge for campers to use, inc refreezing your freezer blocks.
Owner Nigel has eggs for sale for £1 / half doz from a local farm, and will also charge your mobile phone overnight.
The site adjoins a public footpath up to the Downs / Chanctonbury Ring.
The Frankland Arms is a decent local pub, with pub food and choice of real ales, less than 10 mins walk away.
Not so good:
It's quite expensive - charging for cars / tents and people separately.
There's a bit of traffic noise from the adjacent A24.
Some parts of the site are on a slope, although there was still plenty of room to avoid this when we were here, it might be a problem when full.

I stayed here for 5 nights (Sunday to Friday) in August, with 2 children. The site wasn't too busy, was very clean and well maintained.
I had phoned 3 weeks in advance to book and asked for an electric hook up for the tent, which they were able to provide. The pitch was good and flat, and in a good location on the site.
The toilets and showers were lovely, they were kept very clean, and there was always plenty of hot water. We didn't have to wait or queue once for the loo or a shower.
The grounds were really smart, with well kept grass. Camp fires aren't allowed, but there is a bonfire area at the bottom of the field, with benches were everyone congregates in the evening to sit and have a chat.
It was good site for the kids as they were able to go off and explore, independently, down by the stream at the bottom of the field, and I could always see where they were.
The owners were really lovely and very helpful. They had a really nice habit of being around the field every morning so you could have a chat with them if you needed to. There was lots of information on local attractions, and they had plenty of recommendations.
We did a day at Parham House and a day at Amberley Chalk Pits, which are both near by, but we also had a day at Butlins in Bognor and a couple of days on the beach in Worthing. All in all, it's a really good base as there is so much to do in the area.
I would definitely recommend this site to others and will be returning in the not too distant future for another visit.

Have just arrived home after a 5 day break here. We only intended to stay 3 nights but booked an extra night because we were so relaxed and the weather was fantastic.
Positive points about our stay: The site is incredibly quiet, has beautifully kept grass and has a very relaxed feel about it. There is nothing to do for the children so they were forced to hook up with other children and therefore played cricket/volleyball and football most of the day. At night, there is an area for an open fire which is a nice touch. Picnic benches are also available for all to use which is great.
The toilet/shower facilities are clean and we never had to queue. There is an area to wash up and a freezer for ice blocks. We had a great day at Goodwood Races and went to Brighton for the children but other than that we were happy to just relax at the site. There was no noise after 11pm and although the site is off a busy road - you could not hear any traffic. The view from the site of the South Downs is spectacular. Reception staff were friendly (pre and during visit).
(slight) Negatives about our stay.
THE COST! We paid approx £30 per night for a family of 4. Considering there is no entertainment/bar/lounge/rest area/park for children etc, we felt this was a bit excessive in terms of cost.
20p is required for the shower (5 mins), which were always warm but the biggest annoyance was that the lights were determined by that 20p as well. Therefore, once the shower had finished you were getting dried/ready in the dark. Not easy with young children.
Another recommendation would be to install some form of lighting to guide you to the toilets at night. The site is a little too dark at night.
Would we recommend this site? Yes. If cost does not matter to you, this is a beautiful, quiet site where we, as a family, had lots of fun with good friends.

We have just come back from spending two nights at Washington Caravan and Camping Park. I'm sure they must have been the warmest days of the year so far, we were very lucky with the weather.
What a lovely site! We pitched next to a stream and I had two of the best nights sleep I have had in years!
The toilets and showers are great. Perfectly clean. Large family size shower cubicles which is lovely, I hate little cramped blocks.
We would love to go back and see more of the area, it looks beautiful.
Thank you for a lovely stay Washington!

We stayed here for a week late July/early August and found it to be a lovely site. It's a huge, sloping grass field with a stream at the bottom, we pitched onto a terrace with electric hook-up.
One big wooden chalet-type building has the showers (20p/5mins) and there are plenty of them to go round - we didn't have to queue once. All cleaned regularly.
We arrived Monday and it was quiet all week until Friday when it filled completely! At all times it was not rowdy at all, no problem. There is even a fire-pit at the bottom of the site.
The area around is pretty, the pub is great with a lovely Sunday dinner after we managed to get the kids to walk up to the Chanctonbury ring.
Owner is a character and we enjoyed our week there, especially the sunshine!
Only downside is the price, quite expensive and then +20p for the showers, though they are hot and last for ages - enough to do a family of 4.
Recommended.

This camp site is our secret haven as it is only 20 mins from home yet it makes you feel as if you are a million miles away from all the stress. The owners make you feel so welcome and are always happy to assist in any way as do the on-site staff. Although there is a slight slope in the camping field there are plenty of places where it is flat. As a parent of 7 kids it is important that the children are happy too and the beauty of the place is that there are no play areas for children, therefore they have to make their own entertainment (oh the days before computer games!). There is a lovely stream at the bottom of the site and plenty of trees and woodland to keep the kiddies amused followed by a hot cocoa around the open camp fire. Often someone turns up with a guitar and we all have a sing-along too. We don't find the toilet area too bad even though there is a queue depending on the time.
We come here all the time and each time we are treated like one of the family.
Located next to main road but very quiet and close to Chanterbury ring, a local beauty area and a bit of a challenging hill to walk up.
An excellent site and most definitely our favourite.

Lovely campsite with stream. Good washing facilities. Somewhere to freeze your blocks or chill your wine! It gets quite full at the weekend but its not too bad. There are no swings, slides or other equipment for children to play on but ours made do with their own games - cricket, football, kub, rounders so this was not a problem.
However was very shocked at the cost. For 2 adults and 3 children in a tent it cost us £70 for 2 nights - I'm still getting over this! £35 a night does seem a lot of money for camping. It's cheaper to book into a Travel Lodge. Am I out of touch?
