We had a really nice stay on site here. The pitches were well spread out and the setting was very pretty, with the Downs in the background and a stream near our tent.
The toilet/shower/laundry block was excellent. Clean, warm, safe. Not much more you could ask for in a camp-site block.
The traffic could be heard but not obtrusively, the local area is really pretty - we did a bit of the South Downs way while we were there. Some nice pubs locally and everyone was really friendly.

Stayed three nights over the bank holiday weekend. Arrived midday on Friday, and campground was quickly filling up. They don't take bookings (as mentioned before). We were warmly greeted, and told to pitch anywhere. The 'rules' said not to pitch within 9 feet of another tent. We pitched and left for the afternoon. When we arrived back, the place was heaving with people, and people had pitched very close to others, including us. There was a good buzz amongst the campers, and there was no trouble with drunks being loud. Lots of children running around, but nowhere for them to play.
The electrics went out overnight or early morning on our first night, which was frustrating, as I got up early specially to take a shower (there are only four showers - all unisex), and there must have been over 100 tents/trailers. I waited around about 40 min for them to fix it, and they didn't. I couldn't stand there all day. Wasn't very happy about that. My OH said it was fixed later that morning as he took a shower.
Shower/toilet block was generally clean, but twice over the weekend, there was no tp in the ladies. My OH said one of the showers only had cold/cool water. And the queues were always long for the showers.
Pluses:
Lovely area for the site. Looks over the South Downs. Close to Worthing and other places.
Friendly staff
Facilities were kept relatively clean for the number of people (but were still lacking).
Hairdryer available (at least in the ladies)
Hooks in showers/toilets - very handy.
Negatives:
Far too many people allowed onto the site! And the facilities could not cope with the numbers.
Showers are 20p - and the lights don't come in until you put your money in. So you undress/dress in near darkness.
Not enough showers/toilets/sinks.
Toilets didn't have seats - but those raised wooden bits that you only find in NCP car parks and yucky public loos. Not very nice to use and made it feel very cheap and dated.
TP should have been checked more frequently in the loos, considering the number of people on site.
Though it's a lovely site, I was not very happy at how many people had been allowed to camp on site over the bank holiday. It was oversubscribed, and the facilities could not cope. The managers should have turned people away a lot sooner. We were on top of each other, and I heard others complaining as well. I would not come again over a bank holiday. The facilities are nice enough, but for the price of a pitch (17 per night), the showers should be free! And we should have had more space between tents. They need to have lights on in the showers at all times too(not just when you put your money in). Toilets did get crammed at peak times.
I'm sure at non-peak times this is an excellent place to stay, but not when it's as full as it was when we stayed.

Situated just off a busy roundabout but noise at night negligible, medium sized open field no division of units on a slight slope, best to tent up at bottom end near the stream.
Facility block at top of field clean. Not enough showers / toilets, only 4 showers for whole site, 20p for good long hot shower.
Gents toilet had no urinal so waiting was the norm.
Hair dryer is free. No electric sockets available ( quote. Health and safety uhh)
Drinks machine available.
Not a cheap site was charged £19 for one night

Just back from great few days Washington Caravan & Camping Park, we had a lovely stay with wonderful views across the South Downs. We booked in advance and the site manager could not have been more helpful with our requirement 2 families in tents and one in a caravan. We arrived on Saturday to great location saved for us out of the way. Which was good as Saturday was very busy with people doing 1 or 2 nights so it is well worth booking, but for the rest of the week even though it was school holidays it was quiet.
The site is on a slight slope but ours and most of the other pitches are on the flat. The walk 10 minutes to the pub in the village was well worth it and the site offers easy access to national trust woodland and the Downs. The toilets and showers block were really nice and along with the rest of the site was kept clean and tidy. The on site there is a communal open fire with some wood provided, but no kids play ground just trees and a stream along the bottom of the site.
A clean well managed site great for touring remember a few coins 20p for showers and 50p for the hook up.

Good campsite, very reasonable. Don't charge motorbikes so £8 per night, £15 in a car.
Loads of kids running around. Good, clean facilities (20p for 5min shower).
Friendly owner. There is a pub 5 mins walk away, nearest shops are about 3 miles away (somerfield, closes 9pm).

What a find! This site is a very large slightly sloping field. We were at the bottom of the field by the stream, and although the field slopes we had no trouble pitching our awning. The owner was friendly and did his rounds daily. He believes that everyone should enjoy their time and shouldn't have to dash to strike camp before 11am. 'Stay and enjoy the sun' he said 'Make the most of the campsite - after all you've paid for it!'
No playground though for small children but the small children who were there seemed to be having a great time in the stream getting muddy, and running around playing football etc.
There are breeze blocks for building bbq's and a lovely big camp fire area. There is also lots of space on the well kept field for games etc. The toilet and shower blocks are comfortable, clean and nice to go into. There is a hard standing area for motorhomes that looks quite cramped and so we preferred the grass! No shop, but you can buy fresh eggs. There is a nearby pub in Washington which is nice and we also were party to a fabulously English Summer fayre in Washington Village by chance.
We will be going there again as much as possible. No booking needed just turn up, which is what we did. Fabulous.

Really good site. Very nice, welcoming, friendly owner. We spent 2 nights here over the Easter weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the campsite even though it poured with rain most of the time we were there. The facilities are very good, spacious showers, warm and clean. Never had a to queue. Great pitch for our VW Campervan, we were grateful for the good hardstanding and had a nice grass area to sit out on if the weather had been better. Plenty of space for football & cricket which pleased our little one. Also great bbq-ing areas and a lovely campfire area which we enjoyed on our first night, when it wasn't raining! Plently to do & see in area for example Lancing College Chapel, Shoreham Airport, beautiful downland, Bramber Castle and all for free! Good pub grub in ideal walking distance of campsite. A definite recommendation to all.

This is a great campsite - a pretty location and a large well maintained site. The management are relaxed but still keep a ship-shape camp, clean and cheap - with a really good shower block. As a group of 6 with 3 tents we were worried about getting in (as you cannot book) and getting a good spot - but we arrived early and got a great patch. We had plenty of room even when the site began to fill up on the Saturday. The local pub serves good food but the nearest shop is a car or bus ride away. As a group of young people who wanted to have a good time and explore the local area it was the perfect place to be. We visited Worthing on sea, parham house and gardens and the castle ruins and church at bramber. This is a unique site in that you can just turn up and the management are a lot more welcoming than other southern campsites. Highly recommended!

We stayed for 2 nights over the Bank Holiday weekend, so expected the site to be full. No booking system and we arrived at mid-day. Luckily someone was just leaving and we managed to get the only flat pitch at the bottom of the field - no electric hookups. My main criticism of the site would be that a lot of the tent field is on a slope. Otherwise the facilities were adequate: hot water for showers and washing up. Shower floors were quite muddy at times but 20p did give you long enough to wash down the floor and then shower. The site was very full on the Saturday night and tents very close together so quite noisy. It was an OK site for a couple of nights but if we did go back it would not be for any longer.

What a fantastic place ! We stayed there last weekend and it was wonderful. There was a group of us - 11 adults, 5 children and we were down the bottom and the lovely man gave us a huge area ! With the bonfire being close I was concerned it might get a bit noisy but not at all - the kids from 10 months to 7yrs had a fab time! The toilets and showers were clean at all times and the lovely owner said we could stay there all day Sunday too - we eventually left around 4pm. One of the best sites we've ever been too and certainly the friendliest - we will definitely be back soon !
