The site is located about four miles east of Peterborough along North Bank near the Millennium Bridge. Entry is through a secure coded gate access. The site is surrounded by high hedges and trees and is surprisingly quiet. However, I did feel as if I could hear some slight background noise at night from the McCain / Whittlesey Factory area some mile or so south of the site, but this was minimal.
The closest attraction is Flag Fen, as well as Peterborough Cathedral and Burghley House – best check tripadvisor or visitpeterborough for a fuller list.
The site facilities, apart from those advertised, were limited. However, the pitches were flat and there was a water point near the far end pitches at the east. The toilet / shower block (although warm) was outdated and located at the western end of the main camping field. There was also a small hut with some information leaflets of the area, but these seemed limited in what was offered. It was possible to get a good TV reception using an Omnidirectional aerial.
Reception was a through a small canopied window on the side of the house at the entrance.
Overall, generally a pleasant site and we are likely to return.

Wow! This site has to be one of the quietest I have ever been to! My husband and I felt like we were the only ones there! Definitely a relaxing experience.
The reception closes at six and they prefer you to pre book.
The site is pretty big with conifer trees dividing up the site making the pitches more private. The pitches were spacious and very flat and the grass was in excellent condition.
The hook up was in good working order. We only used the smaller toilet block, the women's was extremely clean and smelt nice too.
We will be coming here again to chill out.

I highly recommend this campsite. I spent the bank holiday there with my partner and we both had a lovely time. The staff were incredibly helpful and really welcoming. The site itself is situated near a river which is a lovely setting.
I think the site is suitable for people of all ages, we are in our twenties and found things to do, BBQs are allowed and there's access to electricity on each pitch.
The site's very secure and I felt safe coming back late at night.
It's about a £10 taxi from Peterborough town centre with taxis running 24 hours a day. There are super markets no more than 10 minutes drive away.
After reading some of the reviews I was expecting the facilities to be quite poor however they were clean with soap and loo roll constantly stocked up.
I had a great time here and would definitely stay again.

As previous reviews, the site has potential if it had a little TLC.
The pitches are nice and flat with lots of shelter and adequate water facilities but the 'main' shower/toilet block is dated and although well stocked during our stay I wouldn't want to be here when even at half capacity!
There are laundry facilities however I didn't use these.
The location is nice and the fees are reasonable making it ideal for a quick stop during quiet periods.
I will probably use again for a one nighter but nothing longer.

We stayed here with 2 other groups over the jubilee weekend, I won't blame the site for the crap weather!
Well the site could be great, IF the toilet/shower block was completely knocked down & a modern one built! There are only 2 showers & 2 toilets in the mens & I am told only 1 shower & 3 toilets in the ladies! As someone put there is more unisex showers, but it is just that one shower & its in the same room as the pot washing sink!
The site is well laid out & as I said could be a great site as it is level & well sheltered & quite but handy for Peterborough & at £14 a pitch with EHU over a bank holiday weekend was good value, but you get what you pay for.

Stayed at Northey Lodge friday until Sunday. Found the campsite very well managed and the staff very helpful. Staff helped with directions and even offered to lend us a sat nav.
Facilities very good. Previous reviews state one female shower. However if you look there is also a unisex shower room that you can also use located by wash area.
The site was very safe, secure and well sheltered by trees. Large flat pitches with electric hook up.
There were some caravans nearby that were on site all summer. Very Friendly neighbours.
Cant wait to return!

We liked this site, plenty of room and fir trees made pitches seem more private.
The grass was in prime condition (we couldn't spot a single weed!) better than our lawn here at home!
The site seemed to be managed very well with no interference, grass was all cut and facilities very clean. There was some long term caravan units dotted around and on site there is a park up facility for caravans for yearly storage.
Safety on site with cameras made you feel the site was an extremely safe place to be and the whole area for Northey Lodge was surrounded by high wire fence/fence board.
The cold water supply was located nearby.
We used this site specifically for a visit to 5 Spice restaurant a most superb Indian Restaurant (that also does takeaways). We will certainly return to Northey Lodge just for the restaurant!

We booked to stay here for the May bank holiday, upon booking they were very flexible, not wanting a deposit and we could arrive after 9am and not leave until the office closed around 6.30pm.
It was quite difficult to find and we drove past it, it is located on a long narrow road with only a small sign which to get to it by what looks like a little sandy track, we had to drive a long way to find somewhere to turn around. It is very secure, entering via and intercom then key code once booked on – the downside is this is located on the passenger side of the gate.
They don’t accept plastic so make sure you take cash to pay. We were show to our pitch by a man on a bike, this is where the initial disappointment started. We were in the rally field even though the main pitches were largely unoccupied and stayed this way the whole of our stay so not sure why were weren’t allocated a ‘proper’ pitch.
I went to find facilities and this was a huge let down, they were a mobile type of building with 2 toilets and 1 shower in the ladies. (2 showers in the men’s!.The site had over 70 pitches so I feel this is completely inadequate, especially as they took a number of tents. I followed a sign to ‘unisex shower and dish wash’ this was a room with a butler sink and shower. There were also 2 other toilets 1 men and 1 woman. I was ready to find another site.
Things did get better, we actually liked to rally field as we have a 2 year old and he could freely run, play on his bike without the fear of traffic or getting in peoples space. The only downside was it is also used for dog walking area and he is petrified of dogs.
My Hubby did use the shower facilities and liked them, lots of hot water and he never had to queue. This good have been down to the fact it was quiet, it may have been a different story if the site was full. My son and I used our facilities in the caravan and it are fortunate enough to have a full bathroom, had we not I’m not so sure we would have stuck it out.
The actual site is lovely, across the road from the river, not too far from Peterborough centre and lovely wooded area surrounding it, the downside was lack of facilities, if these were update, improved it would be a top site.

Nice level site well sheltered and well kept, pitches divided by hedging with close cut grass.
Plenty of water points,a ll pitches ehu, toilets
And showers well kept and clean, close to Peterborough with its excellent shopping centre
Your spoilt for choice with all the big name stores, also close to Whittlesey a nice little town with a good Sunday market, and a nice park through which runs a canal with narrowboats.

We have just returned from a two night stay (Friday to Sunday) and had a very peaceful and relaxing time. The site is as others have described, very spacious and considering we are in the midst of the school summer holidays, it was very quiet, the dividing conifer hedgerows provide a great feeling of privacy or you can stay in the rally field which is completely open.
We were not under pressure to leave today; anytime before 7.30pm! We were able to enjoy the best part of the day before leaving. The facilities are limited but were kept very clean. Plenty of electric hookups and fresh water taps around the site.
You do need to stock up before you go to the site if you don't want to have to keep going out as there are no shops nearby. We had an interesting walk over the Millennium Bridge and up by the clay quarry and up to the railway crossing next to the McCain factory passing four enormous wind turbines on the way.
We would stay here again if we want to come back to this area. Very nice.
