Stayed for 4 nights and apart from when the mosquitoes tried to eat me alive it was a good experience. The site was tidy and quiet and that was good as the number of showers and toilets is small. They were very clean though and did the job. Nice big flat pitches.
The site was easy to find and the staff were very helpful. Shops close enough to drive to although with what seemed like every major road in Peterborough undergoing road works the back lanes near the site were a bit hectic come rush hour as the locals were avoiding traffic jams.
Flag Fen is really close and its definitely worth a visit.
All in all a good stay on a nice site - would stay again.

We phoned to enquire about the pitch and the chap on the phone was jolly and very helpful and gave us all the required info on prices, pitches etc and advised we had until 7pm to arrive and if we were to be after then, to phone him to make sure he is there to open the gate.
We pulled in and the metal gates opened for us and we were met by a very friendly man who checked us in and explained where all the facilities were, the nearest town / shops etc and advised us we could pitch pretty much anywhere we like
We choose the rally field and hooked up to the points under the trees, this gave us tons of room and plenty of room to put the dog on her 100ft lead and run around. The whole site is very flat with the pitches being segregated by bushes. Excpect the rally field, this is one large open field.
The toilets and showers that I used were in a portable block, but don't let this put you off, they were clean, tidy and perfectly usable. Thumbs up from us. They were electric heater type showers, so no lack of hot water, large enough to do the job.
The site had plenty of water points, fire points, chemical disposal point, recycling and plenty of bins for normal waste around. There is also a tourist information hut with plenty of info in it around attractions etc.
The nearest village and shops is around a 5 minutes drive away and the site is across the road from the canal offering miles of walks, one way into Peterborough, the other for miles along the River Nene.

Nice area and not too far from Peterborough.
The site itself was very clean although the facilities could have been better.
A quite site with plenty of space.
The big problem we had was in the form of mosquitoes. Which for around 2 hours every night were more than happy to surround you in the 100`s and try and suck you dry. Luckily I personally don't suffer with them but everyone else in the party did.
Not a bad price but would not be my first choice for a site in the area

As others have mentioned quite remote near the river Nene surrounded by conifers. Access by dirt track through a coded barrier and I too was amused with the small window at check in.
Very large site with large pitches on grass, didn't see much hardstanding. Although not much to do here the site lies on one of the national cycling routes which goes to Peterborough and beyond and to March the other way. Whittersley can be cycled to along this route in about 20 mins with shops, pubs, take-aways, banks etc.
I too noticed the rather slightly below par toilets / showers but were clean and functional but obviously couldn't cope if busy, however on my visit was very quiet and that was on a very sunny weekend.
Abundant wildlife noticed around site with the likes of Cuckoo, Green Woodpecker and many migrant warblers singing. Now would I return? only with copious amounts of mosquito cream who have a voracious appetite here. Paid £14/night for two with ehu.

We stayed at this site for 4 days, and it was one of the best sites we have stayed at.
From the moment you went through the gates to the little window the owners knew who you were and were so helpful on everything. The field we stayed on was the rally field so you can park where you want, and as much room you could ask for. The hookups were right by the trees so it was easy to plug in, and the site was so quiet. The toilets were very clean, when ever you went to them. The water points were easy to get too, as well as waste too.
The local supermarket is about 2miles from the site, and its a big sainsburys and so local to cater to all your needs.
The only problem we found was the road leading to the site, the signpost was not very well placed from one direction as it was right on the dirt road where you needed to turn, but after finding somewhere to turn around we found the signpost from the opposite direction was perfect.
Certainly a site we would recommend to anyone.

We spent Bank holiday weekend here with a friend, arriving on Friday evening. Nice site, well laid out. Very secure with lockable gates. Very helpful staff although the window access was a bit strange. Started to fill up on the Saturday when you did notice an increase in waiting for the facilities. Could do with increasing showers, especially for the ladies as there was only one. Nearest shop is a Sainsburys, about a 5 min drive away. If you need to keep the children busy bring plenty to do as it is a very quiet site. Overall a nice, peaceful site but with limited facilities. Nearest town is Peterborough but there is lots of small villages within 10-20 minutes drive with local pubs for eating out.

We stayed at Northey Lodge for a weekend at the end of April. The site is quite remote. We had a warm welcome through the tiny window! It felt very secure on site, coded gates to get in. The site was very quiet the weekend we were here. All areas are sectioned off by tall conifer trees. The facilities were always clean. Although it was not a problem the weekend we went as it was so quiet, but there are not many facilities. Only 1 shower in the ladies, 2 in the mens and 1 unisex shower room with 1 washing up sink in it, and it is quite a large site so not sure how the facilities would manage with more people on site. If you are in a van this might not be a problem, but we are tenters.
There are some nice walks from the site, over the bridge opposite the site, miles and miles of bike / footpaths. Not really much else within close walking distance, no shops or pubs.
Overall a very nice site, nice location, but just lacking in facilities.

We have just returned from a long week-end at this site we were in a group (3 tents & 2 caravans) and we were given our own section of the good sized site which was ideal for the 11 children & 1 dog we had with us.
This is a very basic site but take plenty of outdoor games (as there isn't a park) and it's ideal for a quiet relaxing week-end. There are very few toilets so be prepared to wait and 1 shower in the ladies and 1 in the mens toilet cabin but there is 1 unisex which is handy if you have a little one like us, but oddly this is where the washing up sink is, not sure on the hygiene with the combo but as you only get 5secs of hot water, would recommend taking your own bowl and washing in tent or van anyway.
Take food & drink with you as there is not a shop within handy distance & local pub was closed when we were there.
Although there isn't anything for the children to do as such they were never made to feel unwelcome by owners or other campers as they rode round on there bikes or played football & rounders on large field.

Just came back from bank holiday weekend. Stayed here fri to mon
Really nice site well kept and clean.
Would really benefit from having a few more toilets and showers, 2 toilets and 2 showers in the mens and the same in the womens and then one unisex shower and the pots washing room were together. Nowhere really within real walking distance of the site for a meal so expect to drive for something to eat unless cooking yourself. Great space for kids to play and very secure. Nice flat pitches and very relaxed atmosphere wardens friendly and accommodating. We will be back soon as we all had a great time.

Just returned from our week-long trip. Site was chosen predominantly for its proximity to the diving centre, just outside Whittlesey (Gildenburgh).
Entrance well sign-posted, though appeared strange, as a slight incline over a dyke, before electric gates were visible. Key-pad entry required, then just past the house to a 'dolls house' window used for reception. Owners extremely helpful & suggested a plot for us on the dog-walk field, as we had 2 dogs. Map of site & surrounding area, along with key-codes for entrance gate & showers given out as we checked in & paid for our stay.
Site was very well kept (grass cut twice while we were there), a small amount of noise from people collecting & returning their caravans from storage, as the access to the storage area was parallel with the dog-walk field.
Showers/toilets very clean (although anyone scared of spiders shouldn't look up - bit more dusting above head-height would be good).
Overall site very quiet & peaceful. Owners very knowledgeable about the area & recommended us a caravan sales (non-dealer) shop, when we needed a couple of small accessories. Would recommend if you wanted a quiet site.
