Oh dear! After visiting Ceames bay on several day trips we thought it was high time to spend a bit longer there to enjoy the facilties in the village and take advantage of having a nice beach and coastal walks nearby. We booked a pitch just after January and looked forward to our stay.
In this country you can't chose the weather and we arrived in strong wind. The site over looks the sea and is exposed. I guess on a calm sunny day its idealic, with sea views and grass meadows to look at. Lizzie greeted us on arrival but couldn't find our booking. No matter, we were given a choice of 2 fairly level plots, with hook up, at the top of the gently sloping field.
Her parting words were,'we've had a little trouble with Welsh water.'. This turned out to be next to no pressure in the tiny showers and 'full' toilets because there was no water to flush! When they were flushed and you are in the shower this means waiting for 15 minutes or so for them to come back on and then the temprature is either ice cold or boiling hot.
The pots and pans washing room gives you shelter from bad weather but here again only one sink had a working hot tap and other peoples forgotten dirty clothes and crockery is left and not cleared away. Some of the spiders webs looked ancient. We left after 1 night. Such a shame for a site that should really could be so good.

Easy enough to find, relatively peaceful campsite. Large field which has been separated into rows by allowing strips of grass to grow longer that run the length of the field - this limits your ability to pitch freely, especially when camping with friends (i.E. You have to have your tents in a row rather than being able to position your tent entrances facing each other).
Lovely views across the bay and a relatively easy walk down to the beach (not suitable for disabled or elderly though, but nearby cemaes bay has better access). Expect severe winds at times (several tents were damaged recently - e.G. Tents ripping, guy ropes and tent poles snapping). Lovely when sunny though.
I read other reviews before visiting so was very disappointed with the facilities - they were very poor (in fact the worst we've experienced). The male toilet block has two toilets and just one shower. The toilets and sinks were very dirty and the toilets were frequently blocked and had no toilet paper for much of the time (we had to buy our own). There was no water supply at all for one day to wash, flush toilets or drink. On other days the pressure was very intermittent. When there was water there was frequently no hot water (we washed our pots in cod water for 2 days). I was never able to take a shower in the male toilet block - it just dribbled. I managed to take just 2 showers in 7 days by using the family shower. When the shower did work it was subject to rapidly changing temperatures, going from warm to scalding to cold constantly and I was very concerned for my children using the shower. The family room does not have a lock/key as stated on the website so it is used by everyone all the time. Be aware that the toilet door does not close, let alone lock.
The washing up room was adequate (apart from the lack of hot water) but again it was pretty dirty
On a positive note, there are 2 fridges, one freezer and a washing machine (which you don't get on many camp sites). There is no shop on site so you can't buy gas bottles or anything like that.

We stayed on this site with our caravan with electric hook up, awning and were a party of Two adults, Three children and a dog. Cost £110 for six nights (not bad for North Wales)
Positives:
Spectacular views. Good walks along the coast. Close to the village (two minute walk).
Close to pebble beach (good for fishing, rock pools etc),sandy beach in village.
Utility room with washing machine, three freezers and two washing up sinks. Lots of EHUs to choose from. Lizzie the owner is great, very informative and is there when you need her otherwise keeps a low profile. Toilets were clean but need upgrading. Plenty of room for the kids to run around, play football etc.
Negatives:
The field slopes so if you like a level van a bit of work is needed(which I hate doing). Only one shower in the mens and it was quite small. Only found one drinking water tap on the whole site.
Can get very very windy.
To sum up. I would recomend this site, we were all made to feel welcome and were given the choice of where to set our van to suite us and not the owner. As I have said the toilet's need upgrading but after talking to Lizzie you realise that these things take time, also don't let the wind put you off as there are more shelterd spots on the field but the views are not as good.

My husband and I stayed for the August Bank holiday weekend (Sat & Sun night). The site was spread over three fields, the main field being adjacent to the shower/toilet block. This was pretty busy and gently sloping. The field next to this, although quieter was a little too uneven so we opted to pitch on the field to the front of the main house which was level and fairly quiet. This meant a bit of a walk around to the toilets/shower block. Lizzie (the owner and a Yorkshire Lass!) suggested that I jump into the car and drive round when taking the washing up! The views all around were magnificent and we were lucky with the weather too. It is located at the top of an exposed hill overlooking the sea, so will be exposed to the elements and particularly the wind. Make sure you've got plenty of pegs to tie down the tent/awnings if it gets windy. The facilities were very basic, but pretty clean, and Lizzie was always on hand and checking everything was okay. The 2 fridges, washing machine and the 2 washing up sinks were situated in a small room (cramped when 4 people were in there) so be prepared for a wait with the washing up. Although there were no play facilities for the children, there's plenty of space for them to run around and play, plus a lovely little walk (about 5 mins) down to the beach where there is an abundance of rock pools to keep them amused for hours! Fellas - take your fishing rods there's some super fishing to be had from the coastal rocks. It's about a 10 minute walk down to the village where there's a small harbour, pub (& food) and small Londis selling all the basic day to day necessities. There's also a butchers, bakers and newsagent. On reflection this village reminded me of a small Cornish fishing village with it's quaint little roads and houses overlooking the harbour. A perfect place if you want to unwind from the stresses of everyday life. We will certainly be returning for weekend breaks.

Thankfully we had satellite navigation to guide us to this site as it is off the beaten track with minimal signposting. However, its remoteness is part of its charm and we were quite glad we chose this site. Parc Lodge is situated on a hill with splendid views of Cemaes Bay- the best views we have ever had from a pitch. It is situated close to a wind farm, and I suppose that should have given us a clue to how breezy this site could get!
The facilities are very basic, but the toilet and shower facilities were clean enough. There is no children’s’ play area, but the site was safe enough for our young children to go exploring alone. The private beach is a short walk away, although the final descent to the shore is not for the faint hearted! It is a pebble beach with many rock pools. Cemaes Bay itself has a lovely sandy beach with sheltered coves and is within easy walking distance. The utility room on site has afridge/freezer, washing machine and two sinks for dish washing with hotwater. There is also a ‘family room’with a shower, toilet and wash basins.
It was quiet when we stayed in April so the facilities were more than adequate for those on site at the time. The owner of the site is Lizzy, who provided the warmest welcome on anysite we have stayed on.

Booked on campsite for three nights but only stayed for two because of weather conditions. Facilities are basic but clean enough. Beautiful location overlooking the harbour and sea. V.Nice little village with fantastic sheltered beach. Lizzie the owner is brilliant and will always go out of her way for you.An idea for the field would be a couple of hedgerows in the middle to break-up the heavy winds you can get there.Overall a nice little campsite for a short break, just be prepared for a few gusts. Its worth it for the scenery though.

We visited this site over the Easter bank holiday. The owner Lizzie was very accomodating when we arrived very early, sorting us a pitch straight away with electric hookup. The ground is a little uneven so you do have to watch your step but the site was clean and tidy. The showers and toilets were basic but clean and there was a great little area for washing up with a fridge and freezer for your use. There is a little private beach just a few minutes walk from camp. It was a little steep to get down but was really worth it. Its a shingle beach but very private and clean. We spent the perfect afternoon with the children fishing in the rock pools and lizzie recommended a bbq on the beach as the sunsets there are magnificent but due to the time of year and temperature we decided against it. The scenery was fantastic our tent overlooked the bay and the walks around it were wonderful. The village was only a short walk away with a small harbour excellent for crabbing, butchers, bakery, hardware and general store. Had a lovely cooked breakfast in the local pub which was reasonably priced. we spent two nights here and cant wait to return because we had such a fabulous time and feel we didn't have enough time to explore everywhere. Would highly recommend visiting this beautiful place

Myself and partner and two children 9 yrs and 18 month stayed here for first time we have been going too the island for 17 yrs as a couple and then with our children, first time we stayed at cemeas bay thou. We found Lizzie welcoming and friendly very helpful owner of the site with her husband Chris. The views were out of this world total relaxation. Toilets were basic but were cleaned enough, what with the view and beach and crabbing off the pier what more can you ask. We had very changeable weather but never spoilt our holiday we will be back 2007.

We had a lovely time at this campsite. Lizzie (the owner) is fantastic and can't do enough to ensure that your stay is comfortable. The private beach is stony but only 5 mins walk away and wonderful when the tide is in or out. The village of Cemaes has little shops and 2 or 3 pubs all of which look very inviting. We used the Harbour Inn and had a very good meal there. The portions were huge. The views from the campsite are of the sea and Cemaes but unfortunately this leads to it being very, very windy at times. Really feared for the tent and some did die the week prior to when we did a return visit in August. Make sure you remember Delta ground anchors because I promise you will need them! A lovely friendly site though, we will be returning in the future.

Brilliant Campsite We went here two weekends in a row because we liked it that much. Lizzie looks after all her guests and cant do enough to help. She also ensures that the site is quiet when it gets late. This is not a "rowdy gangs of youths with car stereos" type campsite. The site is on a very slight slope but this does not cause any problems camping. The site is divided into pitches and as such it doesn't suffer from overcrowding. There are beautiful views of the sea and coastline from most pitches. Two pubs (one serves breakfast) and a chippy are a ten minute walk away in Cemaes (we couldnt fit a BBQ in the car! but they are permitted if you bring one). We will definitely be back next year.
