We stayed at Park Lodge Estate Camping Park over the Bank Holiday weekend at the end of May, when most other sites on Anglesey were full. It was an ideally located base for a weekend touring the Isle of Anglesey. The site has a stunning view overlooking the quiet village of Cemaes and it's picturesque bay. You will not find a tent pitch with a better view anywhere! But it's location does mean it is very exposed, so it is essential to pick the right weather conditions. It was very windy when we stayed at the site at the end of May 2006. The owner was very welcoming indeed, friendly, helpful and was always on hand. The facilities were basic but kept very clean by the owner. The toilets and showers were cleaned several times each day. There are male and female washrooms, with just one shower in each block. There is also a unisex bathroom with a key so that you can wash your children in complete privacy. Also on site is an under cover dish washing room. The camping field does slope, but not enough to be a problem. The owner's land incorporates a private beach, which visitors are welcome to use during their stay. It is reached on foot in five or ten minutes, and has plenty of rock pools for the kids. There are a limited number of electric hook-ups available on the camping field, so booking early is to be advised. The price charged for camping was quite reasonable. I would certainly recommend this site if you are looking for just two or three nights stay on Anglesey, but it does get windy!
