This site is a small and friendly site.
The shower facilities are clean but could do with a bit more privacy only a shower screen and curtain no lockable door. Showers are push button showers which means no temperature control and kept cutting out.
Campsite welcomed dogs, on our visit we found them to be quite noisy but there was a strict on the lead policy.
Basic campsite, good location though.
CoOp supermarket less then 5min drive, forest close by, also close to visit Wales we went to Barry only 1hr 30min away.

Stayed here for 3 nights, partly on basis of reviews here. Small site, neatly laid out, with adequate space between pitches, but no real provision for motorhomes, although there are a couple of fully serviced pitches, which are 100% hard-standing with no grass.
Found the profusion of notices forbidding all sorts of activities rather depressing. Entry pad locks on the toilet block and the gate into the campsite, presumably to keep out people parking on the open space just outside the door.
All taps and showers have timers on them - very irritating, and you'd have thought unnecessary given the keylocks! Found the owners pleasant enough, but I don't really think they're interested in camping- just running a business in a fairly disengaged manner.

Just got back from an enjoyable stay at this small and friendly site. It’s quiet and immaculately clean and tidy.
The shower facilities are spotless but could do with a bit more privacy and more space for hanging clothes. The push button showers can be a bit of a pain but the water is good and hot.
There are plenty of things to do around the area including a steam railway and more scenery than you can shack a stick at.
The owners of the site are very pleasant and helpful and we would visit again.

It is a small and beautifully kept site never seen such well manicured lawns. Pretty quiet with little road noise and not very big. Ideal for dogs with the forest walk right outside the door.
Security excellent with electronic doors. But why then have the hassle of a key pad for the toilets?
The toilets are where the site really falls down. Clean, yes, tidy yes but facilities very poor. Don't have a shower after dark as you will be in the dark as the lights go off after about 5 minutes and you can't reactivate them from the shower!
As for the ladies the facilities are even worse. No hand towels, nowhere to put anything down and no hangers. Water flow also poor.

Excellent site! Clean, tidy, no problem with showers and now lots of hooks! Owners very nice. Lots of places to visit. You can cycle from the site to the forest of Dean (very close) and walk safely to Clearwell with good real ale pub.
Only a few miles from Yat Rock with lovely views and RSPB offering free looks at peregrine falcons! Also great walk to River Wye from Yat Rock, took little ferry across, then walked along river and back over small suspension bridge. Wonderful! But did visit in a heat wave, thought I was in France, kept trying to cycle on the right!
There was no problem with the industry next door but the owners told us it is moving anyway.

Thought priced high for facilities. Layout of site and cleanliness and tidiness were exceptional. Showers disappointing as couldn't get more than a few seconds continuous water. Also area for clothes etc minimal with shower curtain as privacy, no proper door. Site next to quite busy main road and small noisy industrial unit. Site shop also disappointing. Expected to be able to buy basics, milk, eggs etc but they only seemed to sell chocolate and pop. Had checked beforehand about freezer for icepacks but was told freezer had packed up. Luckily it worked just enough to freeze ice packs. Ice cream sign outside of shop, but no icecream. If tent had been smaller would have moved. Had to go into Coleford every day to buy provisions.

We've just returned from 2 nights at the site. We arrived as heavy snow began to fall and the wind howled.
The owners were very pleasant and helpful. The site was clean, tidy and well kept and there was no noise. The pitches are gravel which meant that we struggled to get the tent pegs for the awning to stay in the ground, this could be partly due to the windy conditions.
The showers were spotlessly clean. The water pressure in the ladies showers was a bit low and the water stopped completely when the taps were used in the sinks. The water is controlled by a push button but only lasts 30 seconds before the water stops running. This was more noticeable due to the wintry temperatures.
We walked along a footpath to the local shops which were 1.5 kilometres away. Much nicer I'm sure in the summer than in the sleet & snow that we experienced. There is a large Coop store and a few small shops.
We would visit this site in future should we be in the area again.
I would have preferred free wifi access as this was very useful at the previous site we'd stopped at due to the poor mobile phone reception in the area.

A nice little site with helpful owners, have stayed here a few times, lots of places of interest locally to visit, 3 of them within walking distance. The only downside to the site is that the showers are very small and the lights go off whilst you are still in the shower, ok when its light until 10pm, but a nuisance fumbling around in the dark at darker times of the year. There is a small shop on site with just the basics, no play equipment for children, but ours were happy on their bikes and scooters riding around the park, and there is a large open green by the entrance where we take them to play ball and runaround etc.

Just came back after 8 nights at woodland view. We were meet by the owner, who was very pleasant, willing to help. The toilets and showers was spotlessly clean, however, I think they should put a coat hook on the back of the toilet doors and more in the showers. Plenty of hot water but lacked in pressure in the showers. The site as a whole is very pleasant, well kept grounds, and they closed the gates at night, with a side gate. A little noise from a nearby industrial estate, but quiet in the evening. Close by to Coleford 1.5 miles away with plenty of shops, pubs, and takeways [ fish & chips, chinese, Indian] plus close by to 4 places to visit. To summarise would definitely return to this small pleasant site.

We only stayed here for one night (we were testing our tent out - not used it for a few years) what a lovely site - very tidy and great grass! Very safe for children, we have a 3year old and our friends do too. Shower blocks basic but very clean. Will definitely go here again - Coleford has a great cafe (cant remember the name ) by the centre tower - and had a lovely afternoon at puzzle wood
